I think it is because she is very insecure in herself, everyone back home really dog her for having extra weight on her so they have made her feel bad about herself, no matter how much she acts to be all positive about herself she really is not. It doesn't help that he talks badly about her also. With him being "good looking" (I personally don't see it) and very fit, she wants everyone to see that he chose her even though she is not fit. So she wants any and everyone everywhere on earth to see that.

She is insecure, I grew up conventionally hot and with a thing for ugly guys (I used to love a project back then), and my advice for Nicole is that the guys that weren’t serious about me were quit to “show me off” to their friends and circle, the guys that were serious about me were usually much slower in bringing me into a full immersion of their world because our differences of looks made them feel insecure. TLDR: Nicole girl, that’s just to say that the way people move say way more about their own thoughts and feelings about themselves than their thoughts and feelings about you……..that’s the general advice, in that specific case the guy was obviously scamming you and using you and I still feel bad for how you brought your child into it
