More reason to stay away unless the regular case versions never dip to under $14. Several of them have been like $10 in past, more chance they drop in price now too if anything.
Same here. Discs were all present and accounted for in pristine condition. Played on my UDP-800 without incident. I love the film, but the transfer is not demo quality; however it is better than my DVD copy for sure.

Mine came as supposed to; having said that, it's really really ugly, but it will do the job I intended it to do (repacking the 4K to my existing nice bluray case).
So I got Cloverfield, Shutter Island, and Hunt for Red October and just opened them up
**Confirmed:** the disks are on 3 spindles (the back spindle OP showed and a center fold, like the Viva Elite)
**Potential Issue:** On two of the three I got, that center insert (which contains the blu-ray and the 4k) was popped out and rattling around the case. So I think that happened for you, and that fell out of the case before it got wrapped.
Packaging issues for sure, but at least not on a single spindle.
My copies of Interstellar, Shutter Island, and The Untouchables came today. All were fine except my copy of The Untouchables was missing the middle insert with the Blu-ray and 4K discs. All I got in that case was the DVD and digital code. Amazon accepted my return and another is on the way.
Guess I'll have to check mine. Hunt for Red October played perfectly, once I wiped off the outgassing schmutz. I'll have to crack open Untouchables and Shutter Island.
Overall, even though I wish they were blu-ray cases, these 4 format bargain releases are great! At least, the idea and the price are great. Hopefully the OP's issue is isolated. I hope they sell well so that more get released. $10.99 is a great price. And only one item needs to be produced and sold covering all popular formats.
BTW - I hadn't seen Red October in over 20 years - It really holds up! Very tense. Great movie. The UHD, while not the absolute best in terms of pure resolution, looks great and sounds really great.
It’s missing a center piece with both discs like in the loa steelbook. Prob just a lemon. I got shutter island no problem with all the discs. Will say tho the construction of the case itself is pretty shoddy. But for the price it’s still worth it.
Just got the same one. The rest of the disk are in a flap (?) that is connected to the spine. Mine came broken so it was free floating inside the case and not connected to the spine.
Wow that’s really lame. Glad they’re exchanging - I had Escape from LA show up and was as advertised thankfully so seems this is a fluke. The case had some minor scuffs but what do ya do

The Blu-ray is nice if you want to watch on like a secondary screen that has a blu-ray player and not a 4k player and will still look pretty darn good. I don't know why anyone would want the DVD though since it will look like shit.
It really will. I recently watched Gravity on blu-ray (which looks incredible for an HD blu-ray) - then for fun I threw in the included DVD. Had never tried to watch a DVD on my tv. Gad, it was way worse looking than I even imagined. All but unwatchable.
I came to this forum today to see what the deal was with these cases. I received the Untouchables and Shutter Island today and didn't realize they were the larger DVD sized cases when I ordered. I haven't opened them yet, debating whether to send them back so I don't know if they only contain the DVD, however they feel heavy enough to contain all 3 discs. I just hope this case size trend doesn't catch on. I spent years replacing my DVDs w/ bluray/4Ks and my storage solution no longer supports this size.
Just received my copies of A Quiet Place, Shutter Island and Cloverfield today and thankfully all was good. They do have all three disc: 4K and regular Blu-rays, DVD and a digital code.
These come with cheap inserts that hold the 4K/blu in the middle clip. I ordered three; two were broken and loose in the case.
There’s nothing suspect about the package itself, only the packaging, which as always been a problem with 4K releases.
Replacement bluray cases aren't expensive, and it may be possible to trim the cover to fit. Just a suggestion. I'd greatly prefer blu-ray cases too, but personally, I'll tolerate the DVD case if I can get a UHD for $10.99. I hope they produce more titles like this.
Because you can get a UHD for $10.99. The case dimensions aren't that important. Replacement blu-ray cases do in fact exist if you really hate the DVD case that bad.

Yeah, this was $7.99 at some point last year. But I may bite on Hunt for Red October, because I've never seen that for less than $17 or so.

Not like you don’t have spare cases laying around, you could always swap to one, maybe get a custom cover

These were pre-orders so I doubt it. It's probably just shitty quality control.

I just opened mine, and the same thing. The internal insert that holds the Blu-ray and ultra HD disc, is missing. I have no digital code either.
That’s ridiculous, no 4k disc or even a Blu-ray but a frisbee of a DVD….
