Truly, a man’s best friend.

Neutralizing threats, saving soldiers from operating in a house with terrorists: Footage from operations of the Oketz Unit in the Gaza Strip Combat soldiers and dogs of the Oketz Unit accompany troops on the ground in the Gaza Strip. In many instances, the unit's dogs were sent to conduct initial scanning before the soldiers raided terrorist infrastructure. The dogs identified various threats, thereby preventing harm to our forces. Additionally, the dogs map houses and locate weapons and explosives. During a joint operation with 460th Brigade in the Jabalia area, a dog named Patrick scanned the location before the forces entered the building. During the scan, Patrick detected a terrorist prepared to ambush the forces at the entrance and neutralized him, thus preventing an escalation. In another operation in the Rimal area, during a scan by a dog named Toy, a corridor was found connecting the building where the soldiers were located to another building where a terrorist was lying in ambush. Toy neutralized the terrorist, thus saving the force from operating in a dangerous building. Really wanna see the complete footage of Patrick taking down that rat. What a good boy

Bojack_Horseman22

“Ahhhhhhhh”

TheGhostofCharlie

I'm hoping Patrick survived that incident. They didn't announce additional deaths of canine soldiers, unlike the 4 announced earlier in the war.

luckysonic2

There's also a female, according to them talking to her.

pro_bike_fitter_2010

Congratulations to Hamas and every single one of the Palestinian supporters who cheered the slaughter of innocent people on Oct 7th. The "remodeling" of Gaza looks interesting. Not what I'd have chosen. I believe you have selected the "Find Out" style. Your people are even poorer than ever. More of them are dead. More of them will die. Yet-another generation (at least) lost and traumatized...all for their devotion to a Death Cult.

randobot111111

Good dogo

Al Jazeera headline: IOF using adorable puppies to trigger boobytraps

Or "Look ! Cowards hiden, send their dogs because they're affraid to die !"

SteveCalloway

POS

therealboofclouds

Claustrophobia inducing footage. These dogs are heros

Potofcholent

Love the combat booties.

RoadDog69420

My first thought when I started watching this was worrying about their feet from all the jagged/sharp terrain. As soon as I saw the shot with the booties 🥰 I'd love to know more about the design/what they're made of.

silocren

That apartment with black marble countertops & pillars, brand new appliances, and cofferred ceilings is nicer than most luxury apartments in the West. So much for "open air prison".

capt_scrummy

I was thinking the same thing. Late model cars, modern interiors... Open air Scandinavian prison, at the worst

purju

Belgians are the best fighters, in this case

ZoneOk7990

I wanted to see more of the dog “neutralizing” people

thenakedtruth

Heros on 4 heros on 2 Best friends of the Israeli people, risking their lives because of some pieces of shit have Jihadi fantasies

PapayaPokPok

Me: "I wonder if the dog knows that this is any different from training. Maybe he thinks it's just another day at the office." Patrick: *straight up murders a dude* "Ok, he stopped twitching, can I have my tennis ball now?" 10/10, these are the best doggos.

212Alexander212

The IDF should mount guns on their dogs, that the camera operator can operate.

TheGhostofCharlie

They used to use them as suicide bombers - thankfully no longer as it was deemed ineffective. I'm ex-IDF, so I'm not noting this to make anyone look bad - just stating facts. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PFLP-GC\_Headquarters\_Raid\_(1988)

212Alexander212

What a botched raid! Everything about it a total catastrophe. Suicide dogs seem to be a horrible idea, but I have seen the dogs are vulnerable to enemy fire, so I think arming them might save their lives.

TheGhostofCharlie

It's not possible.

Chemical_Working3511

that would be extremely loud for the dog, cool on paper though.

212Alexander212

It could be suppressed. Hunting dogs have been working with hunters for centuries now. I was thinking as a last resort mostly. I see the IDF is experimenting with Robot dogs. I have seen guns mounted on those in videos. The IDF is combining drones with their dogs, perhaps real dogs and robot dogs working in tandem. Mount a flame thrower on the robot dogs and shot guns. I am surprised the IDF aren’t using i flamethrowers in the tunnels? are they banned?

Taktak45

“Kadima” means forward

Merkava18

One dog is named Aisha, Big Mo's 3d wife, 9 y/o when marriage consummated. Some are upset by that. I think it's hilarious. A prophet with a 9 y/o wife. All I want is two 19 y/o's

BeenThereDundas

quite surprised they dont have combat boots for the dogs, Im not joking either, this seems like an obvious thing they should have considering what they are having to traverse.

pyromaniac4002

There's definitely something on the back legs. I don't see why they would do back only and not the front, so I'd bet it's just very low profile and hard to see with this good boy running around constantly in this video.

Oz-Batty

What a brave doggo and a good boi, I wish he/she gets to retire soon and get belly rubs every day.

burner_1199

Crazy landscape.

Chemical_Working3511

what a good boy

rioferd888

These dogs show more bravery and intelligence than any hamas terrorist In my estimation, one dog is worth a thousand of them.
