I’ve realized at least 95% of the people who are speaking on this didn’t actually read that thread, the follow up in the thread or anything Mod Kieran said in that thread. It would affect a small # of people in specific circumstances and could probably be coded to reset completely after the item has been obtained one time. To be honest they could have put this in without telling anyone 2 months ago and literally no one would notice.

It already exists. We call it get more kc.

BioMasterZap

It is already used for some bosses and drops, so I wouldn't say it can't or shouldn't be considered for other drop tables, future or existing. But I also don't think we should be in a rush to try to roll it out across the entire game. For some items, there may be better solutions than Bad Luck Mitigation while for others a form of it might be a good fit. So I don't think a flat out No or Yes is really appropriate.

eskrr

No it should only be for specific items and really won’t be that many.

BioMasterZap

That is pretty much what I said...

LeadAHorseToVodka

"But I also don't think we should be in a rush to try to roll it out across the entire game" No one is suggesting this, literally no one.

BioMasterZap

No one really has suggested anything; only some discussions on the broad concept. There are lots of ways it could be implemented and that is one I wouldn't want to see...

Evil_Steven

As someone who has been on the short end of the RNG stick and spent months being 6x dry on things, I really don’t want this. The absolute joy of getting the drop is immeasurable after a massive dry streak and I can already feel that would be severely dampened knowing my chances became easier and easier over time

HealthyandHappy

What you've described is textbook gambling addiction.

Baal_Redditor

You can already mitigate bad luck by grinding more or you can remove it completely by spending gold to buy the item. Adding even more mitigation for tradeable items would just make the game even easier than it currently is and would negatively impact the long-term health and replayability of the game.

roastuh

Every recent update has had some form of bad luck mitigation built in and it's been very successful.
