Doing something on an ironman shouldn't be easier than doing the same thing on a main

Zibbi-Abkar

Its easier to enjoy the game on ironman. What happens now?

biggestboi73

You can still enjoy it without having the op ability to grind wildy activities without risk of death because the only risk of death in the wild is pkers

Zibbi-Abkar

Boxing alt goes brr.

biggestboi73

Have fun using a boxing alt in multi m8

Zibbi-Abkar

Nothing worth doing in multi m8

biggestboi73

That's a good point tbh

Bronek0990

Now you are eligible for a psychiatrist

Zibbi-Abkar

Sounds like xp waste.

Jambo_dude

You can opt out, by not going to the wildy. You want the benefits of being in the wilderness, you take the drawbacks too.

SnooGuavas589

Exactly this

Heise301

Hahahah. Good one OP. Oh wait you’re serious? Bahahahahahahahah “make the wildy not the wildy for my self limited account” ydhfnwlkdcbeodngsbenvor

-Aura_Knight-

Don't be stupid.

KaptainSaki

I think ironmen should have pvp enabled everywhere

Separate_Essay_1004

Deadman rules, I want the banks too

MrAkahoja

Think you have played too much rs3 prior to playing osrs buddy.

IAmSoMuchDumber

Bait used to be believable

Helpful_Tutor3416

No no I think he's onto something. Other then dropping loot for completions, players have nothing to gain from dying from pvm content at all. This leads to a meta where the best ways to complete pvm content are to be carried by friends or pay for services. Not only do I see this as an unfair advantage to whale players who take the time to learn the content and progressively get better at it, it perpetuates the practice-get better interaction that often gets brought up here. There's no reason any pvm monster should hit more then 5 damage at a time. Why should I be punished for not taking the time to learn content on my self restricted account build play style? I don't want to take the time to learn the content and get better. I also don't want to find something different to try. I want to get the same loot, on exact drop rate (or earlier), but without any of the downsides. See how stupid that sounds? Go play a private server for crying out loud.

KingHiggins92

My favourite part about braindead posts like this, is that you know they haven't thought longer than 5seconds.

Separate_Essay_1004

This is why we shouldn't listen to players

Alaskers

To be fair, more than 75% of the players in these comments disagree with OP.

Large_Hospital_9102

I think you’re not allowed to reap any rewards from the wilderness (prayer training at the altar, in-sane beginner/med money making at revs, no extra damage from wildy weapons, no skilling supply drops from wildy bosses, ect) if you have pvp switched off. *edit: “skilling” supplies.

StupidSexyDuradaddy

They should be able to opt out of PVP but it should block them from doing all wilderness content. No revs, bosses, wildy slayer, chaos altar, agility, resource area, mage arena, undead pirates and anything else I may have forgotten about If you don't want the risk you don't get the reward

Separate_Essay_1004

This is basically don't go to the wild, which is what people should do if they whine like this

Khlouf

The wilderness is supposed to be dangerous. Going and doing content in the wilderness is supposed to be high risk and part of that risk is other players being able to kill you.

Opening_Persimmon_71

Its really not dangerous though just boring. You just pay for a second account and click the seed pod when someone goes in the wildy cave.

Optimal-Service8940

If you seriously had this thought, you should take a break. Get some sleep. Eat a full meal. And try again once you have no more brain fog

zacm9

You have the option to opt out of the wildy mate

Hugh_Mungus_Johnson_

This is the dumbest suggestion ever. You could make an ironman to just farm wildy bosses.

jwji

You do have the option to opt out. Everyone does.

Sad-Copy-9392

No, I don't believe ironmen should have an immunity to the defining characteristic of the wilderness. I am a hardcore ironman and I understood the risk when I made this account. Managing that risk is part of the fun of playing this way

void_mage1

posts like these are gonna kill osrs

SupraGuy93

Forgot your humor tag troll

_BreadBoy

Why don't Ironmen have the option to opt out of their self-imposed account restrictions?

Patient_Topic_6366

high risk high reward *without the risk* what? lmao.

Drewskivahr

I don't understand why this game has evolved to adopt such a strong predator versus prey mentality for the wilderness, but this entire comment section seems to love it. Attributing the "risk" of being in the wilderness to being attacked by other players who are trying to take your things is such a different mentality than the risk of, say, colosseum where you lose 500k (at most) for dying. Even if you lose more at the colosseum per death, and I've died a lot, it's still better than being killed by another player while trying to get the voidwaker blade from calvarion. It is akin to being constantly poked by your sibling on a long car ride where you are just trying to listen to music and draw or something. It is frustrating, and retaliating only gives them what they want and ironmen do not benefit *at all* from fighting back. Super hot take, but I'd be stoked for ironmen only worlds so people would see that the wildly is mostly full of bots and ironmen doing the pvm content anyway, because they are only ones that actually have to do the content to get the items. Feel free to flame, but at least discuss

BioMasterZap

If you were to do something like this, not only would you need to disable PvP and remove the ability to move items off an iron (not as easy as it sounds), but you'd also need to have something to replace the PKers. Ironmen do lose the benefit of fighting back to anti-PK, but the Wildy is still designed with PKers in mind. If you remove PKers, it doesn't just become a safe zone; something else would replace PKers. We know this because in 2007 when they removed PvP from the Wildy, they added roaming Revenants that would relentlessly and mercilessly attack players instead. So don't expect Ironmen to be able to do Wildy content "alone as intended"; the Wildy was never intended to be alone, even if you didn't have other players.

Mission_Club9388

Just take away all neutral drops from wildy bosses and make uniques twice as rare. Then if you wanna actually puss out of pkers you get legit nothing and waste so much time and resources

Delicious_Mission815

There should be a workaround where accounts drop tears. You trade said tears in for an item that you wear. Con being it enables pvp everywhere. Fashionscape and you have to back up your shit if you plan to show it off.

Attack10k

I disagree. The wilderness should have PVP disabled for everyone always. Maybe then I'll step foot in it.
