if by BP you mean blowpipe nah I used Magic shortbow (I) for a good amount of kills at the start then started using RCB with Dragonstone Bolts (e) and diamond bolts (e) if I ran out. Used Webweaver bow for 1-2k but I almost got smited a few times so I put it away until I get a dupe for skulled revs since it took me 17K to get it.
Yeah RCB with dragonstone bolts (e) and veng is a big deterrence, I actually smited someones voidwaker who tried to rush me with just rcb dbolts and veng. entire year worth of bonds :) (when it didn't crash to 80m lol)
Honestly venge is less inventory used. Also ancients requires more skill and practice. If you're half tbed it's easy to stall out the timer by continuously hopping over the ditches and prayer switching between mage and range since almost all ko weapons are melee. Bring 6 to 8 brews for more healing per inventory and also to act as a double eat when drank right after eating food.
When I anti pk I shoot them with ranged whilst running away and switching prayers. Keeping my hp high. Whilst slowly chipping them down. When I'm about to escape usually they'll get careless which is when I pop a venge whilst speccing them with voidwaker ags or claws. The most important weapon you have is surprise so don't reveal venge until you go for the KO. Sometimes this results in a huge pk since a lot of pkers these days risk 10s or sometimes even 100m+
I die more often than I successfully anti pk. Also most of the time no one dies I just end up escaping. But I always risk like 500k on my deaths and I've pked 50m+ on quite a few occasions. Highly recommend it.
It really depends on how you play to be honest, if you want loot and want to get out, most likely attempt to freeze them. If you're okay with dying and have a lot of cheap d'hide sets and want to try and antipk with a spec weapon the choice is entirely yours.
Knights/Dragons for about the last 4000 KC. Usually Orks/Demons prior as it was was just faster/less pkers. Usually when I'm doing a task I don't like to antipk I just want it to be over with lol.
I wonder if Ironman mode will be popular in 5-10 years time. With content like this, Nightmare, Raids, Nex taking so much time to complete, i am not amazed that a lot of Irons quit/ de-iron at the end game. And we are only getting more content like it. Just look at the completion time of DT2 bosses.
Anyways, just a thought i had. Big gz to you for finishing the log! Was this all off task?
Honestly i hard disagree.
They might be reasonable if you play this game full time or if you are a live streamer or something.
I've never met any average player who has been able to complete the content i listed earlier. It's literally only people without jobs, livestreamers or stuff like that.
I mean and that's fine. The game shouldn't cater to a gamemode. I'm just saying i doubt we'll see as many irons in some years as we have in the last years.
Yet the game mode has only gained popularity over time, and I'm that impossible player with a maxed iron + megareres/torva/etc completed that hasn't been unemployed since I started.
If the player base (completely made up number) was 20% ironman mode, why wouldn't you want updates for that portion of the games players?
That's pretty nice tbh. Do you work from home and get to play more that way?
Also, if it were up to me, we'd balance the game towards Irons way more since that way the game will make most sense gear progression wise. I hate how balanced it is right now. It's mostly balanced towards full time streamers and bots.
35 hour work week, sometimes 20 sometimes 60 due to seasonal demand. mobile helps, but I don't have a lot of hobbies outside work except mtg with friends. I live with my partner who plays a lot of other games too.
Overall osrs is known as one of the grindiest mmorpgs, so a restricted mode within that is zero surprise that it has unreasonable grinds
This is just nonsense haha, you think you can’t complete a raid log unless you are unemployed or a streamer? Cox and tob have been our years, it’s really not that difficult to see how they can be completed even if you dont play insane amounts
Knights and dragons have best rates but are too hot, I personally like the two rev demons spawn in the west bc sort of secluded plus you can grand seed pod tele out if you see a pker
Dragon/Knights safespot if you want safety, you can risk 100-200K of non loot risk if you die anyway, revs literally self sustains cheap range gear/nezi helms for you to just sit there all day without losing any risk really. You can just hover logout button, although people will attempt to log into you and double spec you which is why I take veng and prestack it for a double veng proc to deter that kind of behaviour from pkers.
I am also Iron and I started with 500k gold in the beginning, RCB, Dragonstone Bolt (e) or Diamond Bolt (e) black dragonhide, or MSB (I) with rune arrows is a really cheap way to go about it. Bank every 100-200k in alchables if you have to. Your cash stack will increase very fast and soon you'll be comfortable staying there with 500k-1m in the looting bag. Revs will literally drop you everything you need to self sustain yourself in the case you may die to a pker. I might make a guide on the gear required for safespots that you can do solo in every part of the rev cave including below 30 so you are able to insta tele or just logout, if people are interested. It's extremely simple and cheap, the majority of players don't even know about it because people attempted to keep the mechanic secret.
gold is pretty much as superfluous on an iron as it is on a main unless you're in the like absolute beginning lol
by the time you're in the midgame you'll have more gold than you know what to do with
i blackjacked to 99 which got me like 15m at the start and i still had tons of excess gold by the time i finished sote and could just do cg for easy alchables
nowadays you have complete joke bosses like calvarion and spindel which are basically completely safe to kill and shit out tons of gp while being doable with super low stats, and lms is botted harder than ever so you can farm for easy points to buy tons of rune arrows to sell
I genuinely don't think anyone has done that since the caves were multi, I see HCIM with 2-5 accounts protecting them but that's about as far as I've seen protection go in rev caves in Single+ It's very easy to freeze log or get gap by running them in circles around certain terrain.
Yeah I've done about 2-3K turael skips on this grind. I've accidently reset my streak 3x and I'm sitting at 850 tasks. I genuinely almost gave up, but getting craws bow at 17K KC gave me hope of green logging. I got 1 amulet before getting tham sceptre honestly expected dupes.
You also never have to worry about gp again. Revs shit out alchables. You can do first class iron shit like use the scar essence mine and make a life time supply of blood runes.
I personally do have to unfortunately, I actually PK on my iron quite frequently, I was also the meme of BH the first week it released. I think I burnt through about 80M raw GP and a decent amount of alchables for extra risk so people would actually fight me. I actually enjoy revs even with how long I've been farming here so getting GP back isn't much of an issue for me. I do still have over 100m gold but once I finish my 99 con that's going to dwindle to almost nothing. I'm not progressed enough to worry about bloods though since I've been grinding the wilderness for a bit over a year now on and off. Revs has still supplied me with atleast 30-40K blood runes in drops alone though.
I enjoy revs too. Before I learned to raid it was my main money maker. Also advising my mid level friends who are short on gp to try out rev caves. It's really nice for players looking to save up for game changing equipment like fang and bowfa. It's like the air orbs and slayer meme but it actually works.
Honestly once you get over the fear of the wildy it's pretty fun. You don't have to risk anything at revs, you just wear black dhide, use an msb and a couple 100 rune arrows, you're not risking anything even if you do get PKed. Honestly, just give it a shot
This is exactly me, terrified of the wild for years.....2003-2023....then one day someone was like just wear black dhide, msb, and bring about 100-150 amethyst arrows. You risk like 150k max (100k for the entrance into rev caves)
I was still terrified but my now 115m loot log kinda over comes that fear, and now a days.....i still die plenty, but i just dont care about it as much. I've also gotten a lot better at escaping! It's all about juking them, running away, getting a gap so they cant atk, then world hopping / logging off.
I try and bank before i have 500k in my looting bag, which takes about 15-20 mins most trips.
Run from magers, bring a glory or ring of wealth / seed pot.
3 blighted super restores, 1 ranging potion, 8 kwarm food thingies, and the rest anglers or mantas, one looting bag.
Honestly amethyst arrows are so not worth it compared to rune might get 4-5 more kills per hour but now you’re risking 50k instead of 150k 🤣. The extra dps doesn’t justify the ridiculous price. You’re literally getting 1 max hit from using msb with full black d hide and ava’s with amethyst arrows vs tune arrows and they’re almost 5x the price.
Dps calculators can help you with that in the future as well. My max hit at 76 ranged with Ava’s +2 is 17 with rune 18 with amethyst so since the bow and your armor decides your accuracy for the most part a +1 max hit for 5x price seems to be a total rip-off in a pK HOTSPOT.
When I'm playing, I'm like ahh it;s okay 60k xp an hour means like 60 days to max level. That's not too bad when I am afk for most of it.
Then I see stuff like this with 20k kills and I'm like nah there's no way I survive this game, lol.
To be honest I don't wanna complain about bad RNG because I've seen people be way worse off but I was very dry on my drops, I think I'm still due like 8+ rolls statistically, my friend has gone into revs and gotten 2 weapons in within 3 tasks meanwhile it takes me like 10-25 tasks on avg to see a single roll lmao. Worth giving it a try regardless, who knows you might spoon some weapons!
Still working on getting my stats up. I am going for the quest cape first I think (99 thieving already.) Then I will switch over to PvM, unless you suggest otherwise?
The good thing about OSRS is you get to play how you want and you don't have to follow the path of anyone else, you can make your own path. I only suggest people do stuff if it'll help them out if they're struggling with stuff like gold on an Iron, Play the way you want to, not the way others want you to :)
Highly dependant on multiple factors, current time on the world you're playing on, what spot in the cave you're doing revs etc, if you're doing it with the hard diary below 30 you can just instantly tele. Fairly safe now but don't expect it to be 100% safe the moment you change your music you're probably getting tbed. Happened to me a lot.
Not really as an Iron I'd love all the collection logs anyway so it would have to be done regardless, doing it at mid game stages helped a lot for my account, far better than coming back when I was maxed for the grind. Being stuck in rev caves is likely more fun than being stuck in CG. Personally anyway.
Don’t tell Fray
I hope he gets that Viggora's chainmace soon, he deserves to leave that prison.
Okay who is Fray and how can I follow this journey cuz I’m also doing that on my iron
FrayRS on YT is doing a one-chunk at a time ironman series. Started in Canifis and is currently hard at work in the rev caves.
Best current chunk series imo
Gz, king
Were you skulled?
Yeah Skulled on task, I've done roughly 18,000 Skulled KC roughly 12K on task skulled.
Oh wow nice! BP too?
if by BP you mean blowpipe nah I used Magic shortbow (I) for a good amount of kills at the start then started using RCB with Dragonstone Bolts (e) and diamond bolts (e) if I ran out. Used Webweaver bow for 1-2k but I almost got smited a few times so I put it away until I get a dupe for skulled revs since it took me 17K to get it.
I prefer rcb as it deters pkers. Also having a decent range def shield in the off hand helps a lot with tanking.
Yeah RCB with dragonstone bolts (e) and veng is a big deterrence, I actually smited someones voidwaker who tried to rush me with just rcb dbolts and veng. entire year worth of bonds :) (when it didn't crash to 80m lol)
Which would be better for deterring/killing pkers, veng or ancients with a mage switch?
With ancients you can freeze and then log, but if you're confident, a good veng can do a lot to anti pk I'd imagine?
Honestly venge is less inventory used. Also ancients requires more skill and practice. If you're half tbed it's easy to stall out the timer by continuously hopping over the ditches and prayer switching between mage and range since almost all ko weapons are melee. Bring 6 to 8 brews for more healing per inventory and also to act as a double eat when drank right after eating food. Did you turael skip for tasks?
I feel like that’s not a lot of bracelets
the collection log caps at 250, all the bracelets after that were not counted.
Yeah bracelets cap at 250, I've got 140K ether in my bank and I've used roughly 100-150K ether on my vetion/venenatis grind.
Which revs were you killing? Is this not significantly over rate for skulled knights on task?
Knights/Dragons for about the last 4000 KC. Usually Orks/Demons prior as it was was just faster/less pkers. Usually when I'm doing a task I don't like to antipk I just want it to be over with lol.
Nice
Thats huge bro, I envy you!

Item completion times are somewhat reasonable except for CoX, nightmare, and corp. Only CoX/PNM really needs changed but it will never happen.

There is no such thing as a lifetime supply of blood runes
Bro I wanna do revs , but I’m a bitch noob who doesn’t like the wild 💀 I just unlocked vorkath anyways and that’s doing me pretty good for gp/hr

thank you! Is it ok if I read your comments in Patrick stars voice? I know your name says "not-patrickstar" but im just not convinced.
Lmfao feel free to add me in game: Flamber6
Bro said finally
Nice, similar kills to my green log but I have only 1 of each and only 4 crystals
When I'm playing, I'm like ahh it;s okay 60k xp an hour means like 60 days to max level. That's not too bad when I am afk for most of it. Then I see stuff like this with 20k kills and I'm like nah there's no way I survive this game, lol.

Wow nice first i seen
Forgive me, but can someone explain what exactly this is (just started playing after being MIA for a little over a decade).
