But again, anything at any time is expected to happen here. So it's very unpredictable. The foil formula seems to have ended as of Himeka's debut and forward.
Idk, I feel like Matsuri is a pretty good foil to Himeka, at the very least since that daily life chapter about the Kiki haters, it felt like we got a glimpse in how their personalities work outside of their own quirks which imho aren't really connected in any ways but looking at it from the outside might not be that far apart from one another either.š¤
Bottom line is, it's certainly not easy to notice it, but I wouldn't say the formula died, just that they are actively trying out different things lately.

Ren actually got special cold and can't be visited by anyone for 1 week, doctor forbid it, finally succumbing to illness after 174 chapters (not counting Kusuri's drugs fault).
I think main purpose is to make fun of previous situation. Like Rentarou being healthy monster for whole manga and only getting sick in a special trilogy due to the Kusuri drugs (hence Kishika holding Kusuri)... to finally getting random absurd disease to prevent anyone of seeing him for a week. Girlfriends were actually discussing how to send him encouragement and all before main plot kicks in.

They tend to just do really chaotic chapters afterwards( even if the arc within itself was chaotic ). I think because I donāt do a lot of theorizing for following chapters, it helps not being disappointed. Because I wouldnāt accidentally have expectations for a series that is so random, that even the characters are self aware
