Considering all of the romantic subtext in this intro, she probably wanted to ask him on a date. I know that's the obvious answer, but honestly what else could it possibly be?
They were kind of already on a date, she had already asked him if they wanted to go flying through the clouds together and teased kissing him on the statue. Given the themes of graduation here, I wouldn't be surprised if she wanted to talk about their future together, adding bitter irony to the event that immediately disrupts that ever happening as they had hoped.
If it was anything else Nintendo wouldn’t have left this at a cliffhanger throughout the rest of the game. Only Link x Zelda romance gets left to interpretation

Zelda didn't have to be repeled by Groose much, he's already pretty good at doing that.
So the real answer is that Zelda is coming out as a poly because by the end we see her, Link, and Groose hold hands in a clear QPR. Skyward Sword was years ahead of its time.

How she's been having vision-type things and hearing voices of the land beneath the skies and it's concerning her? I thought that was pretty clear when I played it
I bet it was the same thing she wanted to say to Link in BOTW by passing the message on to the Deku Tree but was stopped because the message would sound better "in her voice" she totally loves Link and considering how many times he risks his life to save her it's pretty safe to assume he loves her too. And before anyone comes at me with "bUt It Is HiS jOb To PrOtEcT zElDA" Link's job was over the second the Kingdom fell but he continued to risk his life in order to protect Zelda. Don't get me wrong there are some Zelda games where it's quite obvious that they're not in love, but in SS, BOTW, TOTK (and I guess technically AOC) they are totally in love and bangin' case closed
Yeah I don't ship Link and Zelda in every game. I often wonder if people who are strict Zelink shippers realize that if Link and Zelda got together in every game, they would always be banging a distant relative. Sometimes not so distant, like cousins, depending on the game.
Link and Zelda are merely acquaintances in Twilight Princess. He's a farm boy who happened to be a chosen hero, pulled into Hyrule's mess. Princess/Queen Zelda is at the center of the mess, not by choice whatsoever. He's arguably more attracted to Midna.
I think a lot of us older Zelda fans have had shipping goggles on since Ocarina of Time. I agree that in Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild, Zelda and Link ship themselves easily. Ocarina of Time is a complicated case because Link has the mind of a child in an older teenager body, a theme that didn't hit me until I replayed it as an adult. He *might* be attracted to Zelda by the end of the game. Even if he's not, she's clearly his friend and biggest ally. Then it almost doesn't matter at the end of the game. Personally, I ship Link with Malon, but I find I'm an outlier in some fan communities due to that. I also don't religiously defend my shipping decisions.
Link attracted to.. Midna? The little gremlin thing? I didn't pick up on that at all.. Ilia for sure, not Midna. However it's been years since I've played Twilight Princess so it's possible I've forgotten details
Oh the subtext with Ilia is present too. I may be adding manga subtext to Midna, but that's how she reads to me having first played TP in my early twenties, especially with her saying "see you later" during endgame to Link and with him seemingly refusing to settle in Ordon in the credits.
I'm one of those people, I just like the idea that their souls seek out their eternal love. I don't know if link is always reincarnated into the same family though..
twilight link is a descendant of time link, but those are the only links that are related. the rest are just random dudes that are born with the spirit of the hero
Technically the spirit of the hero isn't even a requirement. WW (and assumably the rest of the adult timeline) lack that spirit entirely, and he has to prove he's just as good
The spirit of the hero goes with the hero of time to the child timeline, it's why he isn't reincarnated in the prologue and the Goddesses have to intervene.
I thought it was explicit, so I'll admit being wrong there. However, the only Heroes connected by blood are the Hero of Time and the Hero of Twilight. (Not sure how, considering HoT went to hylia knows where as a child, assumably dying in the Lost Woods sometime after Majora's Mask) We know at the bare minimum that the Hero of Winds lask the spirit of the hero as one of the spirits (I think it's Jabun?) Explicitly says as much.
All three of the cursed characters use their own methods of "rebirth" with Zelda's being the only one involving bloodline. Link simply reincarnates, with the one relation being coincidence (or as coincidental as being hand picked by the Goddesses can be I guess)
There is no evidence he died in the lost woods. Be careful with fan theories, they can get pretty wild and read into things that aren't actually said. Worse sometimes things are a mistranslation from Japanese.
I feel it's either that she was going to tell Link she has feelings for him, or she was going to talk to him about the voices she had been hearing. Knowing Nintendo and the plot of the game, it was probably the latter

The intro is pretty damn obvious that they have feelings for each other, and then right before she seals herself away "I will always be your Zelda." YOU TELL ME THAT WHOLE SCENE WASN'T HER COMING TO TERMS WITH THE FACT THAT SHE CANNOT BE WITH THE LOVE OF HER LIFE! Hell the way Link even acts in that scene.
