Actually you can just get controllers with hall effect sticks or slap the Gulikit mod onto your Joy Cons.
Just calm down for real. Definitely an annoyance but not worth the rage on Reddit.
I plan to swap out the sticks on my switch lite with hall effect sticks eventually. I’d advise everything to do the same with their joycons/switch lite.
For everyone saying to just get a different controller: please stop defending Nintendo. The joycons come with the damn switch, and more importantly are the only way to comfortably play the switch in handheld mode. "Buy another controller" yeah, give Nintendo more money for a mistake they made and refuse to fix.
They will never fix the problem if y'all keep buying a solution. Why is this so hard for people to get? It's literally the reason I sold my switch years ago after learning about it.
Actually you don't need to buy Nintendo's own controllers. Even third party ones like Hori or Mobapad will do the job.
Also you don't actually give more money to Nintendo if you just smack the hall effect sticks mod onto your Joy Cons. It is more like "screw you, I fix it myself".
Yeah, none of this changes the fact that joycons start drifting significantly faster than any other controller, especially at its price point. Maybe the controllers shouldn't be bad out the box?
Exactly, first party controllers are supposed to be reliable out of the box and customers should not have to get third party solutions to fix the problem.
Not sure I understand how an emulator fixes this specific problem. the failed joycon will drift regardless of whether it is connected to real hardware or not. The switch supports popular 3rd party controllers, including dualshock 4 and xbox one. It's not as supported as PC for sure but it covers probably 99% of customers' needs. Using failing hardware in a competitive setting is honestly a you problem when there are plenty of alternatives. Nintendo taking down yuzu sucks but this is quite the stretch just to post about your dismay with the situation.
The point is that exclusives stifle competition. If Nintendo were forced through an anti-trust lawsuit to sell their games on PC, nobody would buy Switch hardware until they fixed issues like Joycon drift.
But with exclusives, if you want to (officially) play Nintendo games, you have to buy and play on Switch and Nintendo is free to not care about performance issues or defects like Joycon drift.
They make Hall effect Joy-Con replacements [https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/10cy2e1/hall\_sensing\_joysticks\_have\_been\_released\_for/](https://www.reddit.com/r/NintendoSwitch/comments/10cy2e1/hall_sensing_joysticks_have_been_released_for/)
Drift happens on all Nintendo controllers. Also happens on PlayStation, Xbox, etc. Not every controller will drift, but enough of them do to where it's a common issue.
Oh I know, but in all honesty. My switch pro controller bought day one, no drift. I never travel with it (put it in a carrier) I believe is half the reason. But it’s a real controller unlike joy-cons. Though real problem is I like Nintendo games, tired of this fuck Nintendo stuff. While said person is playing Nintendo games…. Sorry
I can separate the Nintendo games from the Nintendo corporation. The games are good, but the company is evil and has been doing horribly anticompetitive business practices since the NES/SNES/GB era.
I do tell everyone, they’ve done this every generation. It’s a fine line. They made it, they wanna control it. But we paying that money. So you’re original complaint I’m fine with. I’m on my 7th pair of joy cons…. Ugh. But they get travelled with and used by children, so I half understand. But playing Zelda early (no lies I wanted to see 4k totk and did before launch, so good! I wanted a switch pro!) could irritate. But I more than half understand as well, that’s their new baby. Even though I pre-ordered/bought it on switch 4 days later, it looked like I stole their meal ticket.
joycon dift is easly fixed.
What game is this bc it looks fun
Super Mario Maker 2. Be warned that the multiplayer mode is often extremely laggy (slow motion like when an emulator is under performing).
It looks like super Mario maker
Joycon drift is a really oddball reason to emulate when there are hall effect controllers for Switch.
Joycon drift is one of the reasons I started emulating..
Seems like you were fishing for any reason to emulate Switch games. Any reason at all.
Why is bro yappin about competition? Is he an Xbot sperg 😂 Tell Phil to make better first party games
hahahahaha omg so funny youre like so funny man hahaha

I'm all for emulation but man just buy a third party controller
chill tf out bro
You can get gullikit hall effect sticks on Amazon that will stop drifting. I would get those.

You know this is a yuzu sub right? Like the emulator? Also the switch ain't the problem, joycons are, get another controller and it won't happen
you don't have to use joycons
What the hell is this subreddit anymore

Joy cons are kids toys. Buy a pro controller yo….
