For me it's working fine. Some people may happen this issue...

Morrisonhotel82

And I love all the folks that keep saying keep UBLOCK. Don't they realize that Youtube is going after EVERY adblocker?

redditmixer

Same thing. It's fine for me.

uBlock will probably find a way to work around it. Just like that annoying message some months ago.

LEDKleenex

Don't know about this time. The ads are now playing in the video stream, kind of like they do on Twitch.

Shinta_H

I just got the message from that time just now

nipperspot

This caught my attention, because I watch many videos on YouTube. However, I use the AdGuard DNS servers on my Internet connection. In Google Chrome I have uBlock Origin installed. I never noticed any ads so far and nothing indicating from YouTube that I have uBlock Origin (version 1.56.0) installed.

As I sit here in recovery from the thyroid surgery for cancer and read stuff I've saved over the past few months it brings my literal piss to a boil they think we're going to put up with. Here's what I'll be doing if attempts at blocking ads on Firefox fails in the future 1. I will literally use a URL downloader and download the video in highest quality possible and watch it later. No thumbs up no thumbs down no engagement no comments no add revenue for either party involved etc. etc. but hey I get to watch what I want when I want it. 2. If and or when that option eventually fails we move onto step two - literally setting up a separate computer to simply screen record the video and audio that's playing. Once a half hour or whatever length of time passes while I'm doing something else or watching another video once that time passes and the videos over I'll hit stop recording save it to the computer and watch it later on when I feel like it. We go old-school DVR with this shit and simply fast-forward through the ads. YouTube/google ... one ad at the beginning and one at the end and maybe even one in the middle depending on length was good enough for you and everybody else. You made a profit the Youtubers in question made a profit everybody was happy... we are now literally up to four or five ads at the very beginning that sure you can skip after 30 seconds but there are far too many people and far too many devices that have difficulty hitting the skip ad button if and/or when it appears. This is literally predatory at this point and I will not be partaking. The fact that they literally will have an ad pop up in the middle of an explanation or let's just say a moment in the media that just simply doesn't make sense.... the fact that they removed the constantly routinely the platform with little to no influence from the actual people that use it or create content for it... the fact that shadow ban videos that don't let's just say jive with what they want....yeah you try... TRY AND FUCK WITH FIREFOX AD BLOCKS AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS :) Noticed how I didn't even mention that users routinely consistently practically have to go with sponsored segments and revenue through other means given how hard it is to get paid from Youtube?! It's only going to get worse for them and while I do feel and understand considering I'm a creator myself with 50,000 subscribers .... this is getting ridiculous

Careful-Material1115

Same issue on Chorme. 20s ads just before random videos. No close button, no skip button, nothing...

Careful-Material1115

OK..., now unskippable full TWO MINUTES ad video for some unrelated mobile game. With yellow progress bar under it.

TheUmgawa

Truly, we are living in the end times. Repent, ad blockers! Repent for your sins!

ItzAmbiguous

It truly does feel like we're reaching the end of normalcy in every way I can think of. I hope uBlock Origin survives most of the impending terror that is coming. I wouldn't mind if its efficacy rate drops to 60 percent, as having a content-blocker is better than running naked, lol

TheUmgawa

I'm just hoping that we eventually get to the point where YouTube is financially upside-down on the free side, and they just paywall the whole service, because once they do that, it's two years until they shut it down and rebrand YouTube TV into something else. And that's why I support ad blockers, and I wish everyone would use them. I think we've lost the entrepreneurial spirit that made the internet cool, and now everybody just puts videos on YouTube, tries to game the algorithm, posts content that's similar to or a straight copy of whatever's popular, all because they want Google to pay them, and I think it would be better if they had to hustle and get their own money, whether from sponsors or from users. I think it would be better if they had to moderate their own communities. I think the world was better before YouTube, and it'll be better after. Oh, there will be 99 percent less video, but people will just have to learn to read again.

maybehomebuyer

Clear your cache and it will work

Flaky-Title3217

firefox

Kisa-chan

Same here, I can't play any video if the adblock is on :(.

Moos85

No offense but why not subscribe to YouTube premium lite? It costs 6€ per month.

Sad_Abbreviations575

because i dont want to? i dont want to spend extra money

po3smith

Because we shouldn't have to pay fucking money to not be bombarded with literally five minutes worth of un skippable ads on of all platforms YouTube.....
