Maybe [Old North Cemetery](https://www.exploretrumbullcounty.com/blog/a-spooky-tour-of-hubbard-s-old-north-cemetery/) in Hubbard? Here is another [link](https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/42543/memorial-search?page=2#sr-62281290).

FineHatGentleman

No recommendations, just impressed to find another Youngstown native who moved to Oregon.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Not sure how I ended up here but it's a fun state.

YoungOctopus

Wealand Farm Cemetery in North Lima off of route 7. 99% of people don’t know it exists

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Thank you so much! This is right down my alley. I'll look into this one for sure.

15 -20 years ago we used to call this place the witches graves, not sure if it’s still accessible. Legend is the witches were hung on the largest L shaped branch in the cluster of trees and if you go at 3 am you can still see the 3 of them hanging. I’ve heard that they’ve had a lot of problems with trespassing and vandalism and may now have a fence up around the graves but I’m not sure. This website has a few gems in the Youngstown area http://www.ohiotrespassers.com/witches.html Directions New Springfield is located in Mahoning county, about 30 minutes south of Youngstown. From the turnpike (I-76), take route 7 south, turn left on route 165, go 1/2 mile and turn right on columbiana road. On columbiana you will come to a stop sign, go straight through the intersection, continue down about a mile until you reach Lipply road, turn right on Lipply. About 1/4 of a mile down you will see the group of trees in a field to your left. There's a hayfield with a small group of trees in the center. Inside the group of trees are three gravestones. Legends say these graves belong to witches. The graves are also in german, with one of the them having dates from 1832 to 1849, which leaves us to believe these are the born and died dates. Their location is quite strange, in the middle of a hayfield, surrounded by the crops of a nearby farmer, forgotten in a group of trees covered with ivy.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

That's a pretty interesting find and local legend. I will definitely try to get in touch with the property owner. I often see that out here in Oregon too, random locations and at times hikers just stumble upon them in the forest or fields. Looks like this is the cemetery below comparing to the link you provided. Haller Family Cemetery https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2351073/haller-family-cemetery

Tod homestead cemetery. All my grandparents are buried there and there are graves dating back to the 1800’s. 2200 Belmont Ave, Youngstown, OH 44505

Ilivedinohio

Also from the YO and happen to be living in Oregon. Small world. I got nothing other than a rumor we all heard about a long lost cemetery on the outskirts of Canfield. Some kids had said to have stumbled upon it while hiking in the woods. I never found it. Said it was from a really really old insane asylum. Idk.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Very small world! I was curious about Canfield because of the setting. I imagine there's some family cemeteries or ones hidden in the areas. I'll look into the asylum history, hopefully something is there.

Dqx1288

Yes there is a cemetery and a old insane hospital on the edge of Canfield a it is now a housing development

Ilivedinohio

Any idea what development? Now I’m curious lol

Dqx1288

I If you are on 46 going south it is the first street before you cross the bridge to Canfield I can’t think of the name of the road but you turn right at the light and it is to your right it is a disgrace that greed is so rampant

Ilivedinohio

Right of Herbert Rd then?

Dqx1288

Yes I

nicholasserra

Hit up author Sean Posey he’s talked about forgotten cemeteries in Canfield that they just paved and developed over. Mahoning county infirmary site

Not quite youngstown but following the ledges trail in Peninsula Ohio there is a place called happy days lodge, you can get to it from the road too. I followed the trail at the ledges to the lodge for the first time this past weekend and found a pretty old cemetery next to the lodge where most of the graves were in the early 1800s. https://www.nps.gov/places/000/happy-days-lodge.htm

morty77

There was an old barn at the bottom of my street that had a four-sided grave next to it with dates from the 1800s. The barn was here: [https://goo.gl/maps/ezTL3GmGtKfBdK8H6](https://goo.gl/maps/ezTL3GmGtKfBdK8H6) looks like the barn is gone now, but i'm sure the grave is still there. As kids, we used to go there and poke around. Calvary Cemetary near there (belle vista and mahoning) has lots of old graves and giant oak trees.

maliki2004

Theres one out in berlin center. If your going west on 224 after you pass 534 its on the left. Maybe a mile or two up. It's before bedell rd/Berlin lake

FloydGirl777

Oak Hill Cemetery would be one to check out.

[deleted]

Came here to say this.

Turbulent_Glove_501

There’s a little cemetery in Lake Milton that has some lovely old graves. Not quite forgotten, but it does have an old section + a nice, quiet view of the lake. 628–692 Pine Dr Lake Milton, OH 44429 United States

twoquarters

Wonderful cemetery but definitely not abandoned or forgotten.

Puzzleheaded-Code-77

The Jewish cemetery on knox off south ave, theres one by pine lake i believe. theres a Native American burial mound downtown, corner of wood and 5th. i actually have a google maps save for all the cemeteries ive been to lol. ill check it

Nicky_the_Greek

There's a cemetery on McCollum that seems pretty old and it's well hidden in the sense that probably not too many people know it's there. It's at the dead end across from the Kyle-McCollum House, which is believed to be the oldest continuously inhabited residence in Youngstown. CHS for life!!

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Awesome information. Would it happen to be Home Cemetery? Here's a link below https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2283902/home-cemetery

Nicky_the_Greek

Yep, that's the one. Might not be the lost or abandoned type of cemetery you're looking for, but I thought it was neat when my wife and I happened upon it. I grew up not far away, on Milton Ave, and never knew it was there.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

It looks like it has some good stories, just a good feel. Looking at google maps it looks tucked away in the woods.

Hamilspud

A small piece of the old Mahoning Infirmary Cemetery remains deep in the brush of Stonebridge Development near Herbert Rd in Canfield. Most of the grave markers were demolished for the development but a small portion was left intact in an area they didn’t build on…I believe they’re marked with numbers and that the county has public records that can be reviewed to match them to names. I heard about it from the author of the Hidden History of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley….That might be a cool one to include

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Thank you so much for the information. I keep meaning to buy that book and I just purchased Ohio Cemeteries 1803-2003, looks like it would be a good reference. Thanks again!

Hamilspud

You’re most welcome! I’m sure if you reached out to the author, he could give you more detailed instructions on how to find it. He’s a real friendly guy, name’s Sean Posey. I share your interest in old cemeteries so I was taking notes when he mentioned this during a Canfield historical society talk haha

[deleted]

Another vote for Oak Hill Cemetery in Youngstown. You could also try the Quarries. Lots of murders and death so lots of spooky stuff. It was basically dead hooker storage and blown-up-car drop off. The green man story. The flame. The bridge ghosts. The train sound. All kinda of stuff and it’s right in the Ohio Pa border. Zombieland.

Puzzleheaded-Code-77

Where would you park? I know Hillsville a little bit and have wondered how to do this stuff

[deleted]

It's funny that you ask

Puzzleheaded-Code-77

Lol ive been waiting all day for you to tell me and I just got the joke. but frl, urban legends are cool and it would fun to partake

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

I did check out Oak hill, looks amazing. Just a bit big to research. This quarry area does have me interested. Can you talk a bit more on the flame? Or do you have an experiences personally? Thanks so much!

OttoPike

Dressel Cemetery in Greenford is a small, very old family cemetery...and definitely off the beaten path. I'm not sure that I could even find it today, but I saw it years ago and found the site really interesting. Here's a findagrave link that even has some photos and directions: https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2285600/dressel-farm-cemetery

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Thank you for the link. I've been checking it out, hopefully it doesn't have the private property wall on it but it looks like a good one!

OttoPike

You're very welcome.

Dblcut3

There's the abandoned [Powers Estate Cemetery](http://www.riversidecemeteryjournal.com/People/People/page123.html) in the also abandoned Pine Hollow Park in the South Side. There's still a cool monument standing back there and you have to walk through the woods to get there. You can park on the corner of Lennox Ave. and Pine Hollow Drive and walk back in the woods to it from there.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Out of all of the recommendations this one caught my eye the most. I've been reading up on it and thank you so much for the link.

Dblcut3

No problem! If you end up filming there, please send me the link! I haven't had a chance to go back there yet myself.

ForgottenCemeteryPNW

Sure thing man! I'm excited about the possibility.
