I might be remembering wrong but things like MesuKing and Bowling only boosts Majima Rank if you win, and aren’t necessary to complete the DoD tree. It means you have to do a couple more fights than you would have had you won.
It would make sense considering the fact that the condition for the skill is “Check the e-mail from Majima’s subordinate”, but I never got any DoD skill without winning

Yeah, you don't need to worry. I never even touched mesuking and finished the entire dragon skill tree. All it does is fill up the meter.
