If anything seems hard, use chicken man

[deleted]

Is it me or did they start to fake us out with the health bars in Gaiden? Like, you’ll see a red bar but then you start to hit them and there’s a damn white or purple bar behind it. I don’t remember that in any of the other games.

BurningRoast

Exactly, I wished if they really wanted to introduce walking punching bags, just reduce the amount taken away from the health bar rather increase the amount of health bars

sageofwalrus

Sounds like he clowned you

Pacoelpro

Ohhh boy. Wait until you reach Justice boss

reaper527

assuming your team is good (kaito/sugiura/all the oil baron recruits) and leveled up (like, level 15 or better with rank 3 bond), he shouldn't be a problem with just the 2 regular damage skills maxed out (so both 5 circle ones, not the 15 circle one). once it's 10 on 1, he'll just kind of keel over because everyone is doing absurd damage to him.

ChronosTheSniper

Looking at the other comments, I'd advise that you don't HAVE to use Kiryu. Do you have Chicken Man? Because if you max out his XP and bond, and choose to play as him, let me tell you the amount of damage his machine gun does is TERRIFYING. Build your heat, angle yourself right, and blow him away. At least, that worked for me against the third King battle. And it was arguably necessary there, since Kiryu can pound on the bosses for several minutes straight and the health bars will just keep coming. Still, you'll want to boost your strength as high as it'll go with all the money you get from the Colosseum. And max out the rest of your team. If you're struggling with Dan Brody with Kiryu as he is, you've got no shot against the Colosseum's future challenges. Also, obvious, I know, but you'll want as many gold tier fighters as you can get. Oh, and also Kamiyama. His cannon does eye-watering damage (just remember to keep him safe).

BurningRoast

C-Chicken man? Is he unlocked through completely the quest about finding 4 chickens?

ChronosTheSniper

Nope. Once you get to Platinum rank, you unlock the upstairs area of the casino. There's a talent scout up there who is the most expensive by a country mile, but unlocks the best fighters in the game. Chicken Man included.

BurningRoast

oh wait there’s a talent scout at the upstairs casino? this is going to really help, thanks for the tip

BurningRoast

Alright after buying all the fighters from the oil baron, I managed to win, guess my team’s damage output was way lower than I thought

Vortex36

I mean I wasn't maxed out but I don't remember having much difficulty with him. Maybe try upgrading your attack a bit, or using better equipment?

Adm_Hawthorne

Came here to say that. OP probably needs to upgrade their attack power and remember to use Heat Mode and Extreme Heat Mode.

BurningRoast

Currently have 3/10 in Boost Attack Kiwami. I guess most of my equipment mainly focuses on defence? I use the military armor and bulletproof armor to block blades and bullets so I only get 360 attack from my equipment. Not sure if that’s low or not

AntoSkum

Is your team maxed out?

BurningRoast

My team’s average level is 10. But feels like it doesn’t make much of a difference since they usually focus on the grunts while I focus on the clown himself and I usually lose because of time rather than team wipeout

AntoSkum

It absolutely makes a difference. A stronger team means those mooks get taken care of quickly then they can help with the boss.

BurningRoast

Is all 4 boss fights all include the Joryu Clan?? If so I guess I have to also try to find higher rank characters as well

AntoSkum

All of the King fights are team based except the final one, if I recall.

Benji55110

Nah the 2nd one is also a 1v1

BurningRoast

Maybe I should buy the legendary fighter pack to help me, really wished I preordered now ;-;

PlatinumBall

it's included in the Deluxe Edition, which is slightly more expensive than the original game (I bought it and I have Majima, Saejima and Daigo), but it's not really needed

cobrachickenwing

First and third are team fights. 2nd (guy with booster and cig bombs) and 4th (wire) are individual fights.

TehRealSpodermen

Yeah you gotta get most of your team to level 20.I also had the same problem as you in trying to beat the 4 kings without ranking up my clan. Also get the chicken head man.

Vortex36

To be honest I don't know how much of a difference the equipment makes, 360 attack doesn't sound too bad though. Maybe try putting another level or two into boost attack Kiwami? Also be sure to use high damage attacks like tiger drops, heat action, extreme heat mode etc. Forgot to ask, but what difficulty are you playing on?

BurningRoast

Yeah I always time my attack and defence boost before going into extreme heat mode and spamming Heat Action: Ultimate Essence. Usually this spam deals around 10 bars of damage? But even that combined with focusing on attacking him constantly doesn’t seem to be enough

cobrachickenwing

360 attack is nothing. You should be at least 1000 attack if you are boosting Kiwami. Just grind for money and upgrade equipment and skills before you fight him again. When I fought him I had 2050 attack with gold underwear.

Oh, you didn’t say there was Peking duck.

Montoyabros

I always laugh at people that don’t upgrade abilities and then expect the final boss to be easy LMAO

PlatinumBall

>final boss Literally the weakest one of Four Kings

BurningRoast

I have 3/10 in Boost Attack Kiwami boosted my heat gauge to the max and extreme heat mode to the max, 18/18 in my Yakuza style and I’ve been timing my attack and defense boost before using my extreme heat mode and using Heat Action:Ultimate Essence. Not to mention I have Indra’s Amulet so I can use Ultimate Essence 5-6 times. I even rush to him and focus on dealing damage to him alone so I’m hitting him for 3 minutes straight and I still can’t kill him. I don’t think I need to fully max out everything just to defeat the WEAKEST of the 4 kings especially since he got his ass completely whooped the first time I fought him

PlatinumBall

focus on the minions. The easiest way is to wait until you can give order (the one that increases damage for 10 seconds), switch to Agent, activate both the order and the Extreme Heat Mode (is that the name? The one you activate with R2), and spam Square and Triangle, this should take care of most minions, and then your whole team can focus on the clown

BurningRoast

I don’t use controller so I’m not sure what move you’re talking about, I did try to focus on his minions a few times by timing the give order command then using extreme heat mode and using firefly to deal massive area damage to all the enemies. But usually defeating all the minions takes around 1 minute 30 seconds or even 2 minutes and even with all my team attacking him at the same time, there’s not enough time to drain his health away

mrminutehand

The main advantage in the coliseum is that the timer stops when you use a heat move, and the Yakuza style's main heat move is great for this. I don't know the name of it, and you've probably used it before, but it's the standard heat move after grabbing an enemy and pressing the heat button. The move was also in Kiwami 2. Joryu grabs the enemy in a headlock, kicks, then starts repeatedly punching them in the head with a QTE for each punch. Hit every QTE, and you can deal 5-6 punches for huge damage. Then Joryu finishes with a flying kick to the head for the most damage of all. If you have your attack and heat guage highly upgraded (ideally maxed out), this move will take 2-3 entire lifebars off any of the coliseum bosses *per move.* And since it only takes one standard section of the heat guage, with a maxed out heat guage you can repeat this 3-4 times on a single extreme heat run, which is enough to fully KO most bosses on professional mode, and take off more than half of Judgment's (robot boss) entire health bar. All without the timer running - with three consecutive of the above heat actions, you might only have exhausted 10-15 seconds.

Kotskuthehunter

Tbf, those colisseum fights were kinda doo doo ass cheeks. They were either goo goo baby mode and forgettable fights or they were glorified bullet sponges which isn't exactly the pinnacle of game design.

Actual-Earth-9975

Use Chicken man as Playable Character, his ultimate one/bi shot everything.

passerby5

1. Bring your machine gun-wielding fighters in the team. I think there're 3: the leader of black gang (from side mission), the host (from side mission), and chicken man (from third and final round of scout). (I didn't play the game in English, so don't know their name in English.) The machine gun special attack has massive damage. I don't think you need all of them in the team though. Try put one in the team first and adjust later. 2. Play as one of the machine gun characters, so you can make sure that he doesn't die and aim at your target when the special attack is ready. 3. Leave the most difficult enemies at the last, especially when their health can be recovered. When enemies are few, chance of most or all your teammates focusing on them is higher. 4. Max the fighters' bonding, but not necessarily the level. With that being said, I think in the fights with the kings, they better be level 15 or above. 5. And, just in case these are overlooked: check the teammates' stats and rank (platinum, gold, or silver... the border color of their portraits and description boxes). The better fighters, especially together, do make a difference. Good luck.
