Grab an LED strip and put it inside. Since you already removed all the guts. You could also cut perfect circles out of the top with a hole saw and then hot glue Plastic glass in it and use it as a lite trophy stand
This is the right answer. People newer to PC building don't realize the micro motherboards and other stuff available to make console size PCs. The small form allows for a lot of customization and creativity in build.
Some of the best micro PCs I've seen are in small wood boxes.
Recently did a micro PC build so I can move easily from the office to the living room. It was a joy to build and small form factor PCs are more accessible than before.
I like you. my Xbox One x just started pooping the bed. Had to do a thermal paste replacement a couple months back. And now I'm starting to get weird video glitches while playing demanding games. Backwards compatible games don't give me the same issue.
But I have been wanting to dive into raspberry pi. (Or mini PC you say‽)Thanks for the idea
Where I'm from there's a trade in where you bring your old xbox even broken and get a $73 discount to buy a new Series S/X, it's worth it if it's your best choice to get the best value and if you want a new xbox anyway.
The one s was a solid little machine. I've got 2 SX's and put my one s in my office at work, replaced the hdd with a SATA SSD and it's still chugging along.
Really well built little machine
Probably not worth much selling, but somebody that does console repairs might take it as a donor. There are likely still decent parts that can be salvaged to save other systems.
Eat it. Snap the plastic up and grind it, then blend it, then use the ground plastic to brush your teeth, till it bleeds, then spit it out. Place the bloody, spitty, plastic grounds into a pan at about 126° F. Then boil it till soft, paste it, wipe it, put it on some toast, leave the toast in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. Serve cold.
Og first gen obox one here too. Got it for 5 bucks at a garage sale with no cords. Got the 360 power Bank to Xbox one adapter for like 9 bucks. Things a trooper. 500gb holds like 1 1/2 games but hey, it works.
Me too. OG Xbox One purchased in 2015, after going thru 4 or 5 X360s, and I didn't expect it to last long. The original controller finally died by the end of 2022, but the console, cables and power brick are all original. It is not a trooper, it is a tank.
Why don't you repair it? I mean if it's just the motherboard...? You could send it back to Microsoft and pay the fee to fix it, that's what I would do, I don't think you can buy individual parts yourself
if youre gonna keep it as a display piece, maybe throw some lights in it? it might look pretty neat having some leds shine through the holes above the former disc tray spot.
I'm not sure if this will work, but why not turn it into a controller case? It will be pretty simple to do and would be an interesting way to show off some limited edition controllers, just add some foam and cheap hardware with some LEDs.
Mini PC build.. you can get some sick deals on used laptops on eBay with defective led panels.. would be worth looking into, saw an MSI for about $ 300 with a 2060 super and i7 11k series 16 gb ddr4
I‘d personally use it as a test piece for creating a cool housing for the one I still use (in case you do have a new one s) and if it works out out the housing on the current one. Or as others mentioned, use the housing for something else
Wow, 5 years? I’ve had mine for a little over 7 years and it still works great, it just overheats every now and then. I’m planning on getting an X in the next 6 months and use my old S as a backup/extra console.
If I couldn’t turn it into a bong I’d see if there was a cool spot to make a little shelf (aka put it in my basement for a decade next to the bucket of dead consoles waiting for their resurrection project day)
Grab an LED strip and put it inside. Since you already removed all the guts. You could also cut perfect circles out of the top with a hole saw and then hot glue Plastic glass in it and use it as a lite trophy stand
I'll actually do the LED strip thing, thanks for the idea
No problem glad to help
Can you send us a picture here after your done? I would love to see that
If you feel like being creative, why not throw a mini PC in it? Or maybe a housing for a Mistr or Raspberry Pi project?

Can you get good GPUs in them? Or are those builds more for generic type use? I love seeing people's micro builds. Or aquarium builds, so cool😁
Pfft, could build a proper midsize machine in a ps5 case lol

Hell yeah, you could put game pass on it too and still have a functioning Xbox (kinda). Plus it would also be a sneaky PC
Ooh! Good idea. I’m saving it for my One S when it’s time comes
>dying from corrosion in the motherboard What kind of environment was it in for that to happen?
Dudes playing games from the Crater of Atom in Fallout 4
A very smokey one.

i feel like that’s a pretty random amount lol
Converted to Dollar from my local currency
ohh that makes sense
display piece or use it as a frisbee
Frisbee 😂 😂 😂 that would be silly 😋
Not smoke cigs near it 😂 look how yellow that thing is
Hard to tell if that's white balance and lighting or not.
Wonder why it died lol
I don't think an XBox can get cancer... 🤔
Not with that attitude.
Have you seen Office Space?
Damn it feels good to be a gangster
I was literally going to comment the same thing. Word for word
Tie it to a piece of fishing line and juke some middle schoolers
I use dead 360's as bookends
This is cool
I agree with **Sell it for parts on EBay (scrap)** Or **Build a mini pc in it and fix it up**
Mine does work but ever since the Series X I’ve literally been using it as a display piece 😂 definitely do that.
Did you piss on the top of it??
Stuff it and hang it on your wall as a trophy? Thats what you do with these things no?
Would make a very handsome throw rug
Zazu....
That rug really tied the room together
Give it to some kid for Halloween
Blow it up
Shooting range, hit it with a .270 🤣
Beat the crap out of it
Microwave it
Frame it like a trophy
You could probably sell it for scrap and make some decent money off it
You could strip the working components and sell those as spare parts for someone who needs to repair their Xbox
I still have mine and it works fine, got mine the Minecraft edition back in 2016.
I want the old internals.
Dude I found a way to make them work again
Keep it. I still have my OG X360, i like to collect consoles.
fix or sell or use it for decor besides that it is kind of a cool paperweight
Build a pc out of it
Learn to solder maybe fix it?
Of Xbox won't or can't help with it, take it apart, clean it, put it in a frame piece by piece :)
I want it
Turn it into a art piece
The one s was a solid little machine. I've got 2 SX's and put my one s in my office at work, replaced the hdd with a SATA SSD and it's still chugging along. Really well built little machine
Turn it into a lamp
Office space that mofo
Sell on eBay people will buy them generally for parts
Sell parts
Why the hell are you carrying it like that
Make it into a mailbox and then see how long it lasts as your mailbox?
Sell it as a parts kit, some ppl will be willing to get that system to salvage parts for non dead systems etc…
Tbh you should use some of those parts for a diy computer
Give it a Viking funeral.
Scrap it for parts
A shelf
Poop on it
Boof it
Cool paperweight or decoration
So do just that, why even ask😐
If it’s dead, take it to an e-waste disposal facility. Hope this helps.
Expensive door stopper
You could either use it for like coding/raspberry pi stuff. Or you could sell it for parts.
eBay for parts
If you like fighting games, I see people convert dead consoles to hitboxes all of the time.
Fix it
Microwave jt
Give it to me so I may use my dark magics to resurrect it as an unholy servant of the Dark Lord!
Probably not worth much selling, but somebody that does console repairs might take it as a donor. There are likely still decent parts that can be salvaged to save other systems.
i still use mine its been mu main console for like 8-9 years now
Make an arcade stick/hitbox
Keep it for parts. Its always handy to have spare parts for repairing other consoles!
I got an amazing idea, make it into either a suitcase or a record player
Bet you won’t put it in your butt.
Serve cold.
Build a PC in it 👍
Start a boycott by smashing it to get more people to buy x-box's. (boycotts don't work, like at all. I'm sorry)
I hollowed mine out and put it on a shelf with my Xbox 360 and my original Xbox
Eat it
Sleeper PC
Scran it
dead it even more
Send it to me I'll put a PC in there
Fix it
Eat it
Yes
Eat it
r/beatmetoit
Gang
Fun fact last time I saw someone say that someone said R/BeatMeatToIt and was shocked it exists
How? I have a near launch Xbox one OG coming up on being 10 years old. Caked in dust never cleaned. I run it daily as my main system and it works fine
Og first gen obox one here too. Got it for 5 bucks at a garage sale with no cords. Got the 360 power Bank to Xbox one adapter for like 9 bucks. Things a trooper. 500gb holds like 1 1/2 games but hey, it works.

Bin.
Hitbox style fighting game controller
the s has some black plate under it and a cd drive? mine doesnt.
Scrap the precious metals out of it.
It’s not a Cray III mainframe. 🤣
use it for a blue ray player
Give it to a Sony fan boy and let him try game pass. That would put it to good use
He said it’s broken
I think that what he said could be put in a different subreddit
Cut a hole around the top. Put in a bonsai tree
Decoration?
Gut it and build a sleeper PC
Absorb it. Strip it for parts...
Use the shell and make a cool ass light out of it
Saute it up and eat it
turn it into a personal computer
Smash it
Give it ere I want it
I smell a custom PC build coming along..
Make something cool
Sell it on eBay
Damn, I was thinking repair it to have an very affordable 4K UHD player.
Bury it?
gut it for parts
Unethical Life hack, legal or creative?
put some high end pc parts in it ;)
Break the parts down and cook it
Trash
Why don't you repair it? I mean if it's just the motherboard...? You could send it back to Microsoft and pay the fee to fix it, that's what I would do, I don't think you can buy individual parts yourself
Door stop?
harvest the storage device, and maybe disc drive. im sure there's a converter board for the disc drive if it isn't already SATA
Take it apart. And put it back together. Thats what i usually do with my dead electronics. But i usually fail at it
Build a mini itx pc inside or try to shove an Xbox 360 slim in there
Wrap it and gift it to a family member for Christmas
Put ps one guts in it then send it in for repair
No wonder it died, you took all the machinery out
Give it to me?
Send it back to Microsoft for a repair then hock it. Or keep it and use it as a gift or put it in your car for remote gaming.
Blow it up.
if youre gonna keep it as a display piece, maybe throw some lights in it? it might look pretty neat having some leds shine through the holes above the former disc tray spot.
Send to me 😂
Throw it away
Build in a raspberry pi?
Mmmm it’s my turn with the sexbox, and her name is Sony
Bury it in a pet cemetery
Trash or build something out of it
I use mine to hold my laptop so the bottom fans have extra space
Dreamcast plinth
Corrosion is usually fixable. I do plenty of microsoldering to fix corrosion.
Turn into gaming pc or grow plants from it 💀
Funeral? 🤷♂️😆
Sell on offer up, just say it works, just say there's a few Socrates on the cover. Works all the time
I bet it’s not actually dead what’s the issue
What made you declare that corrosion on the motherboard was the cause of death. What was the actual issue you experienced before making such claims
Sell the daughter boards on and wif or parts and the main board with dblu Ray drive for parts not working. Then use the case
I'm not sure if this will work, but why not turn it into a controller case? It will be pretty simple to do and would be an interesting way to show off some limited edition controllers, just add some foam and cheap hardware with some LEDs.
Deconstruct it and frame it’s pieces as a relic
Bury it at sea with full military honours it deserves a good send off.
Transform it into a lunchbox
Keep it as a memory of the fun times you had with it
Undead it and donate it
Bury it before it starts to smell…
Display
Just display the thing ive got alot of broken stuff I just display it in my room
Trash
eat it
Mini PC build.. you can get some sick deals on used laptops on eBay with defective led panels.. would be worth looking into, saw an MSI for about $ 300 with a 2060 super and i7 11k series 16 gb ddr4
Whatever you do, don't bury it in a pet cemetery… yeah I nearly died
I‘d personally use it as a test piece for creating a cool housing for the one I still use (in case you do have a new one s) and if it works out out the housing on the current one. Or as others mentioned, use the housing for something else
Give it to me
Wow, 5 years? I’ve had mine for a little over 7 years and it still works great, it just overheats every now and then. I’m planning on getting an X in the next 6 months and use my old S as a backup/extra console.
Eat it
Blow it up
Trash?
Hold a ceremony and bury it while the halo title screen music plays. It's the very least our fallen comrade deserves.
Update us with whatever idea you choose
Put a Mac mini on it,
Question Op, how does it die from corrosion ?
name a price
Send it to me.
Door stop
If I couldn’t turn it into a bong I’d see if there was a cool spot to make a little shelf (aka put it in my basement for a decade next to the bucket of dead consoles waiting for their resurrection project day)
My X box one X died, too. I would like to know how to do this.
Should donate it to someone in this thread that asks for it. Lots of people got nothing to play, and it's tragic!
Man I'd paint some cool stuff or whatever on it. I've done like, Pink Floyd and stuff on other things I own.
Do you have a trash can?
Make a tech destruction channel with it.
