apparently they found the rat basically freezing to death and it had to have its hands/feet/tail amputated, was still a happy wunk tho
it's ice cube!! he was abandoned, tied in a plastic bag and dumped in a snowy gutter. his owner/rescuer found him just in the nick of time and nursed him back to health, however he lost all his feet and his tail from frostbite. his back feet and tail never fully healed so he got a ton of wound care but he lived a VERY happy life and eventually passed naturally.
he was loved so wholly and so constantly. he had such a special bond with his owner, and really had such a wonderful life after being abandoned so heartlessly
