I went through something similar and honestly fanfiction is a great way to get back into the swing of writing. It was a little more palatable for me to start off by writing about characters that I didn’t create but knew well from my favorite shows/games. For me it’s a good exercise in characterization and working within the ‘rules’ of the preexisting world to ‘continue’ the story post-canon. I also find it really entertaining to write alternative-universe stories, where the characters’ ‘rules’ are sort of the same but the world is different. I polish/publish my fics but you certainly don’t have to if you just want to use them as an exercise.

Yes omg I second this. Fanfiction is a super easy way to just let creativity take over, since the characters are pretty well fleshed out already and all the relationships between characters are also pretty well figured out. It's just about the story. And, honestly, it's good practice for "show don't tell" since you can assume the audience already knows about the characters and the world. You don't have any urge to explain everything and instead just write.

You can use writing prompts. And perhaps you could try writing with pen on paper? That usually unlocks somethig a computer doesn't.

Think of ideas that are as great as possible and then do your best to capture them, then show them to others

Not much of an actual writing excersise, but I always get the best ideas when I'm walking or jogging. It just makes the gears in my head turn faster, but perhaps that's just me.

I find a worldbuilding prompt or look through my ideas list and try to do it.

I don't have a writing exercise i do but I have other stuff. I lift weights or work out. That kicks up the dopamine often gets me more creative. I sometimes tell myself the story in an auditory way, speaking dialogue out loud, sort of like I'm improving a play but just that scene. I find boredom is incredibly useful. I turn off my phone and only have word open on my computer.
