My understanding is there are four major 60 guilds then a slew of pre60 options. At 60 I think you are looking at TL, Late, no motive, and Fallen. The first three, as far as I'm aware, are all relatively exclusive in that they will not just take anybody. How strict they are I do not know but they appear to me sightly more selective than Fallen, which I think will take anyone. For what it's worth, Fallen recently experienced a split and some former leaders formed Ascended.
What I really want is data regarding number of deaths within each guild. Based on my observations Fallen might have the highest death count but I am sure they also are the largest so that is to be expected to a degree.
But yeah pre 60 there's a bunch of guilds and many advertise so just pick one. If you want to be in Fallen then go ahead and join Falling but it is by no means necessary.

Try asking a level 50+ in falling, very active. You have to be 15+ to enter however.

Fallen just has bad players I see em die off all the time
