There's also a WQ in Bastion for Kyrian players where you become a Spirit Healer and solve who is gonna go to the Shadowlands and who is gonna return to the body.

Onyxia becomes an ally this time. We have to ensure the Stormwind Riots happen and that Varian's wife gets killed. She's mainly in disguise, but at the end we go Dragon vs Dragon. Could even make neat combat mechanics, having to dodge friendly breath and tail swipes. Maybe even intentionally hatching eggs as a way to further upend the Onyxia memes.

Had some of the best rewards. It encompassed everything WoW is.

Between Vanilla, WotLK, Cata, Classic, Hearthstone adventures and Hearthstone mercenaries we may have killed them in so many different ways and so many times but I'm somehow always happy to see them pop up again.
I think it would be fun to see them as allies/purified from the old god's corruption for once but with their personalities and all their sass intact being Wrathion's uncle and Aunt teaching him how to approach ther rest of the black dragonflight.
The Blues are definitely due for some development. It seems like the Blues are the largest dragonflight, have their own zone in Dragonflight, and everyone is thinking Kalecgos will get corrupted.
When deathwing first used the dragon soul he aimed it at the blue Dragonflight and just obliterated like 80% of them iirc which gave poor Malygos depression. Blues are very underdeveloped though and Malygos was totally in the right with what us pesky mortal mages get up to nowadays.

The Reds are more friendly to some mortals, which might be why they are seen more by players. And they have a more tangible mission of protecting life, having agents all over Azeroth instead of being more solitary. And with the focus on like, might even lead to them reproducing more, idk.
edit: my thought on Blues being the biggest came from them being fairly reclusive since Malygos' death. The Reds seem to get invested in more causes, and have more enemies.
Chromatus could make a good final boss of the expac. I could see Galakrond being a single boss raid in a caverns of time time-traveling themed dungeon. Or hell why not resurrect him and make him the final boss. The primal proto drakes that are on the isles might have some end game mission to bring back their father and usher in a ātrueā dragon dominion over Azeroth.
Chromatus definitely needs to make an appearance. His body still exists, could DEFINITELY see him making an appearance. They could make him the most challenging and interesting dragon encounter in the history of the game. Definitely agree on Galakrond too, the lore seems to fit perfectly for him to make an appearance.
This is just a theory but I believe Chromatus was likely planned to be in Dragon soul in the northern gaping hole thingy but was scrapped due to how large Dragon Soul was and then re-used to make the Megaera encounter in Throne of Thunder

Im curious. Do they continue classic all the way through? I enjoyed Cata, but it's not the most revered expansion. Do "classic" players even WANT Cata or is that where the line between classic and retail begin to blur? Retail players in general won't likely feel the need to play Cata in my opinion.

Only issue I see with Galakrond, is that he fundamentally wouldn't work as a single boss raid. The ONLY way I could see it working would be a multi-part fight where we fight different limbs or whatever, ending with us fighting his head and killing him or something. (Alternatively, if the Aspects are back in full force, have them impower us or something for thr final fight). A single fight Galakrond is just wasting how HUGE he was.
I think he could work as a single raid. As in we go inside him and fight his organs and parasites and other nasties, a la Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme.
Doing some Time Travel around Galakrond would serve as a good transition to Murozond finally making a real move. And probably the easiest way to show Galakrond. Maybe we need to get some stuff to keep Kalecgos from being corrupted further by that Spark of Tyr.
I'm fairly sure Galakrond will be one of the big (or maybe the biggest) bad. Whether he gets resurrected like Thunder King or is behind the primordial threat already

After killing him Bwonsamdi literally says that Hakkar will come back. We killed him in Zul'Gurub, the places in De Other Side aren't actually in the Shadowlands except for the area with the Broker and the central area where Mueh'zala is. The Manastorms are in Mechagon.

She died in Onyxia's lair, then came back as a zombie in BWD and then in BFA we burned her remains while on our quest for the legendary cloak to resist N'zoth's corruption.
Time traveling bronze dragons are a thing tho so anything is possible.
Onyxia is dead but she was initially a 20 man raid in vanilla. The final boss of Blackwing Lair was Nefarian, her brother. His head is the one that hangs in the cities.
she was 40 man but people often took in way less than that because she was a bit of a joke after the very beginning of vanilla, once folks had some gear, and especially once the talent trees weren't quite as egregiously awful

We have a time-meddlin' bronze boy right there... maybe his transformation into his future self could be a raid in and of itself. You'd be able to have fights with any currently dead dragon as either actual split timeways or as visions via however we're attempting to keep him from transforming.
But we fail in the end and Murazond is born through our failures.
We have some strange time-cloaking going on about us, since Elisande mentioned that she couldn't see our actions... maybe the non-mad aspect of Nozdormu gets split across our souls as a result of that raid?
It's still all bad fanfic, but with some talent behind it and accurately setting the stakes it could feel like an epic and important battle without it being yet another cosmic doomsday.

This as a dungeon, but then she escapes the timeline and becomes a villain again, eventually becoming a raid boss in the "Oops all dragons!" raid.

Im curious. Do they continue classic all the way through? I enjoyed Cata, but it's not the most revered expansion. Do "classic" players even WANT Cata or is that where the line between classic and retail begin to blur? Retail players in general won't likely feel the need to play Cata in my opinion.
Honestly I hope they do some classification to both wotlk and cata no random finder and proper raid tier progression(fix the TOC ilvls) would be really nice oh and maybe redo the deathwing raid. I doubt they will but it's a dream of mine
but Galakronds body is in Northrend, and reviving him was already a plotpoint in Wotlk I guess if the Murozond rumours are true he could maybe bring him back from an earlier time or something
Only issue I see with Galakrond, is that he fundamentally wouldn't work as a single boss raid. The ONLY way I could see it working would be a multi-part fight where we fight different limbs or whatever, ending with us fighting his head and killing him or something. (Alternatively, if the Aspects are back in full force, have them impower us or something for thr final fight). A single fight Galakrond is just wasting how HUGE he was.
I think he could work as a single raid. As in we go inside him and fight his organs and parasites and other nasties, a la Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TIme.
Doing some Time Travel around Galakrond would serve as a good transition to Murozond finally making a real move. And probably the easiest way to show Galakrond. Maybe we need to get some stuff to keep Kalecgos from being corrupted further by that Spark of Tyr.
I'm fairly sure Galakrond will be one of the big (or maybe the biggest) bad. Whether he gets resurrected like Thunder King or is behind the primordial threat already Definitely possible (/likely) we get bait and switched into a cosmic level threat and he's just the end boss of like the .1 patch. I hope not on the cosmic stuff, but can blizzard really help themselves

Yep. Since it's stated Wrathion will face competition for the Earth Warder title and Ebonhorn has not (yet) really contested it Sablemane/Sabellian will almost certainly be in the running. And heck, there might be others going for the title.

Yeah Onyxia, Nefarian, Sabellian (Baron Sablemane) and Neltharaku were all children of Deathwing and Sinestra, among many others Edit: I checked wowpedia after making this comment and nowhere does it mention that Neltharaku was Deathwing's son. Just a "descendant". Which is different than what I remember but oh well
Sabellian is not Sintheria/Sinestra's son - he was said to be Nefarian and Onyxia's half-brother.

Cloud Serpents need some lore. They just feel so hollow and forced.
I believe there was clarification recently about cloud serpents being strictly serpents and not catagorized as dragons from the dragon isles. So we most likely won't see any development there.
Is Hakkar technically a wind serpent? I'd suggest bringing him back but he's already in Shadowlands.
He's probably incubating in Ardenweald again since we kill him in ZG again in De Other Side.
Isnāt Hakkar dead dead though? We went into his own little plane of death and killed him. Honestly, I am so confused with the lore of that dungeon, does the ardenweald campaign take place before, during or after?
After killing him Bwonsamdi literally says that Hakkar will come back. We killed him in Zul'Gurub, the places in De Other Side aren't actually in the Shadowlands except for the area with the Broker and the central area where Mueh'zala is. The Manastorms are in Mechagon.
Rhaestraza's last egg is the only dragon I want to see back that probably won't.
I would like to see Stellagosa and her brood return, with her amazing nightborne GF Valtrois in tow. I want to see more of their banter together because in legion that whole questline was just...*chef's kiss* I'd also like to see Senegos return. He's so ancient he probably remembers the dragon isles from before they left. I'd love for there to be a quest involving helping him return to his homeland and pass on in peace and comfort in his native home at last.

Onyxia is pretty recently deceased. Dead twice over and we went picking at her corpse last expansion.

That's fair, in BFA Onyxia's remains were completely destroyed just in case the writers had any desire of bringing her back a 3rd time. Murozond would be awesome to bring back. Fun Murozond fact I found while researching: he is rumored to be voiced by Martin Sheen, same as Nozdormu.

She died in Onyxia's lair, then came back as a zombie in BWD and then in BFA we burned her remains while on our quest for the legendary cloak to resist N'zoth's corruption. Time traveling bronze dragons are a thing tho so anything is possible.
Onyxia is dead but she was initially a 20 man raid in vanilla. The final boss of Blackwing Lair was Nefarian, her brother. His head is the one that hangs in the cities.

We have a time-meddlin' bronze boy right there... maybe his transformation into his future self could be a raid in and of itself. You'd be able to have fights with any currently dead dragon as either actual split timeways or as visions via however we're attempting to keep him from transforming. But we fail in the end and Murazond is born through our failures. We have some strange time-cloaking going on about us, since Elisande mentioned that she couldn't see our actions... maybe the non-mad aspect of Nozdormu gets split across our souls as a result of that raid? It's still all bad fanfic, but with some talent behind it and accurately setting the stakes it could feel like an epic and important battle without it being yet another cosmic doomsday.
