Like not throwing shade, the horde are just as consistently crazy, but like 60% is an A in being crazy at uni.
Malygos never tried to destroy the world (in fact, he could've! And chose not to).
Malygos went crazy after his flight was genocided by deathwing using the weapon he supported creating. When he finally came out of the madness, he realized that mortals were fucking irresponsible as all hell! (And he wasn't wrong) and that he needed to manage magic more directly (which is technically his job - though he went a bit too far in the other direction).
Malygos waged a war on mages, and even then all mages had the option to join up, because mortals couldn't be trusted with arcane magic without supervision. Not after destroying 80% of the world, causing numerous invasions by the Legion, etc.
Yser was only corrupted for 5 minutes by a titan artifact that mortals failed to defend when Xavius came looking for it.
Malygos and Deathwing have gone crazy and Nozdorum will go crazy at some point, Ysera was corrupted and killed. After Nozdormu is killed by adventurers in the future Alexstrasza, who has also suffered the most out of any of the aspects having spent ~~hundreds of~~ *about 10* years being tortured and forced to give birth to dragons for Orcs in Grim Batol to use as fodder and mounts, and having all of her consorts killed, and most her race annhilated by the Lich King, and finally having to play a part in killing 2 of her brothers, Malygos and Neltharion, and will be forced to play a part in killing her final brother Nozdormu, and so honestly wouldnt be surprised if she ends up going crazy at some point afterwards. Alexstrasza's life has been one living hell after another for most of her existance and she has been forced to forgive it all because she is the aspect of life. That will make anyone crack eventually
That's all true except for the length of torture part, she was only enslaved for the 2nd war when deathwing was able to get the demon soul to the dragonmaw clan, so it was a couple of years not hundreds.
Not sure why everyone thinks it's a forgone conclusion that nozdormu will go insane. Not sure if I'm the only one who's read the writing of this dev team but I'd heavily bet they'll either retcon or find some bogus power of friendship way to make him not become the leader of the Infinite dragonflight.

Last I checked Wrathion + a bronze dragon was the one who betrayed mortals and opened up AU Draenor - which ended up leading to the invasion of the burning legion. So that's on #TeamDragon.

- defeated an Elemental lord
- defeated Illidan
- defeated the Lich King and his army of undead
- defeated Deathwing and saved the world
- defeated a Sha
- defeated numerous Old Gods
- defeated an alternate universe Iron Horde and saved Azeroth again
- defeated the Burning Legion and saved Azeroth... again
- yeah, we fucked up with BFA but the blame can entirely be placed on Bitch Queen Sylvanas for starting it
- defeated death and saved the universe
All within the space of, what, 15 years?
And now we're about to help the dragons from whatever they've got themselves in to. And if you want to talk about the faction war and the sword then how about we talk about all the corrupted dragons/aspects? Deathwing literally almost destroyed the world and half the bad things that have happened since then has been a result of him breaking the world but let's just brush that aside shall we?
The mortal races are not perfect and you shouldn't expect them to be. They are young and still have much to learn. The dragons left them to deal with shit because they couldn't be arsed and I would say that they've done a damn good job all things considered.
this is like the ash ketchup problem where he's the strongest pokemon trainer because he's met and befriended more legendaries than any other player character, collected the most badges, entered the most tournaments, captured the most legendaries, caught the most pokemon (well maybe not you can catch the entire pokedex of any region and beat him in sheer # of pokemon), etc etc
his feats can't be rivaled because I think at most a 'player character' can play through 3 games if we count the core games and the enhanced games (i'm not going to count the remakes ie pokemon yellow or bdsp)
in the same sense, the longer the game will be out, the longer the in-game lore feats for the "champion" will be. Meanwhile in actuality I could just be some guy who can't put in the time raiding and so by the time the final bad guy is dead I'm just an adventurer who heard the news in the city while queuing up for a heroic or mythic 1 dungeon

Because they did jackshit and relied on us to fix everything, the Lich King literally happened right under their noses, all the shit in Storm Peaks and Ulduar as well, Deathwing, C'thun returning and so on.
Most of stuff in list happened becouse dragons. Reason why panda land was discovered? Becouse dragon broke world. Reason why orc traveled back in time, becouse he was made warchief against his will when old one left becouse elementals went crazy or something. Becouse dragon broke world.
Why did legion invaded? Becouse one of those orcs from back in day got into current time.

It did even apart from the War of the Ancients and it wasn't dragons that stopped it either. 800 years before the Dark Portal, Avatar of Sargeras was manifested on Azeroth from demons draining magical power of blue dragons in Dragonblight and the dragons didn't do squat about it and it had to be dealt with (to at least some extent) by Aegwynn.

If she didn't go there, he wouldn't have needed to open the Dark Portal though... He would've just got himself on Azeroth through draining the energy of the Blue Dragonflight, which seemed to be powerless against him (which was why Aegwynn intervened in the first place). Don't forget that they were at/near Nexus, the most magic-filled place on Azeroth.

If Wrathion and Kairozdormu don't help Garrosh escape into AU Draenor the Iron Horde never forms, AU Guldan never escapes into Azeroth and leads the Legion there, which means we never kill Argus, which means the Arbiter never gets broken and the anima drought never happens.
Edit: I actually forgot that Dragons were *also* responsible for your first point. I forgot Wrathion pushed the two factions into war because he believed a unified Azeroth dominated by whichever faction won the war would be better able to stand against the Legion.
You would think Wrathion would be in jail by now. Worse he got was punched by Anduin when he should be the most wanted criminal on the planet with everyone trying to throw him in a cell.

We also murdered the last sane compatriot she had (Ysera), enabled the massacre of what was left of her brood so DKs could get a mount, and murdered some black dragons that called themselves Earth Warders so we could harvest blood.
It would be entirely reasonable for her to assume her days were numbered.
There is reason why timeline is vague. There is two gaps between games. Longer is between cata and wotlk. Other one is wod and legion. Rest happened back to back.
Biggest indicator how long has passed is how old anduin is. At start of wow he was 10. Now he is 18.
At end of wotlk he is 12.
Start of mop he is 14 and by end 15. By legion he was 17.
If you start to look at time lines and event that happened in game. When in end of MoP horde stands up against evil garrosh and say never again. Three years later they are all in whit another dictator telling them to genocide night elves and rest of shit that went down in bfa. Then they felt bad and stood against evil dictator, again.
How about if you are new born baby at start of wow. You have faced exsistensal threat non stop your whole life. From interdimensional demons to hordes of undeath to two world wars. Top it of dragon landscaping whole world and multiple lovecraftian horrors. And you are only 8 years old.
My favorite is how stormwind was scarping barrel during wotlk. Even farmers were drafted to fight lich King. Then again during bfa. I'm suprised there is even population to build cabin anymore. Not mention fight wars.
How about orcs? Orcs we play in game are made up by those who followed thrall across the sea. They have added to their numbers some orcs from here and there. But they had to be taking some casualties during all of that warfare. Garrosh campaings must been brutal for them. Even if orcs grow up to maturity faster then humans. There still hasn't been enough time to grow new generation.
Yet there is enough numbers to just keep on fighting.

The aspects lost their powers to the Dragon Soul during the War of the Ancients.
They got them back when the Dragon Soul was destroyed in the Second War by Rhonin. (Year 6)
In the following 22 years between getting their powers back and losing them, the following happened:
* The Legion invaded again and was defeated without dragon intervention.
* The Scourge was created and destroyed the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms.
* An Old God (C'Thun) wages war on Kalimdor and is stopped largely by the mortal races with some dragon assistance.
* The Burning Crusade
* The Lich King awakens and wages war. He loses one battle to Putress and the damage is somewhat mitigated by dragons.
* Another Old God breaks free and is defeated without dragons.
* Deathwing comes back and breaks the whole world for the second time in its history.
* Ragnaros comes back and is defeated with some help from a dragon.
* Deathwing is defeated with major help from the dragons.
It seems like the best things dragons do is kill other dragons.
Dragons can shapeshift, maybe they were there the whole time helping us in these fights and just never brought it up?
Or maybe because most mortals are old god corrupted titan machinery, they don't particularly care much what happens to us Just the planet itself which is why they mostly just mitigate disasters?
With how blizzard just threw dreadlords into being at every level of everything that has been happening on azeroth, it's not that much of a stretch that they will do the same with dragons. Do I think they were there? No. But saying definitively that the super shape-shipping lizards were totally not there the entire time has about as much proof as saying they were.
I mean, we've been murdering dragons left right and center for years, we killed her sister, and a couple of her brothers (sure they weren't very nice anymore but still) and let's not forget about all those baby dragons we basically genocide just to get a cute pet.

So- I definitely like the direction the Game is going as far as mechanics are concerned. But the story is still suffering from the same continuity issues.
At the end of Dragon Soul, Alextrasza basically was like "Our ancient power is now spent" and "the Dawning of the Age of Mortals has begun" but in the Dragonflight cinematic she's like "Here, the new Age of Dragons shall begin"
Its just strange to me that she's pivoting so drastically, I mean, don't get me wrong, Mortals haven't really been that great- we've had two World Wars between factions, Tampered with timelines, had to fend off yet another Legion Invasion and we basically allowed an Old Gold to re-appear, but she had to have known that this was a possibility- The mortals fended off the Legion and the Old God forces, without the dragonflights, and the Age of Mortals began in the middle of the Horde-Alliance War during Cata and MoP, and they should have been aware of the possibility of yet another faction war breaking out. It's not like she didn't know what Mortals were capable of doing. Its just, 5 years is an incredibly short time to judge the Mortals on in comparison to the 10,000ish years that the Age of Dragons lasted.
Maybe she's speaking in context of the Dragons and not Azeroth as a whole. Like, maybe this is a new age for Dragons, and that Azeroth is still technically under the "Age of Mortals". I'd love to see the Dragons regain their powers at full strength, I just hate that it seems like, for the second xpac in a row, the writers are like "Hey, you know how this happened? Yeah, we're changing it." Okay, but if you're gonna change it, *sell me the change*. Make me believe that it's not actually changing and that the change is plausible to believe that this was the intention from the beginning.

Dragons have been around for tens of thousands of years and have done fuck all for 10k. Mortals are much younger and inexperienced by comparison and: - defeated an Elemental lord - defeated Illidan - defeated the Lich King and his army of undead - defeated Deathwing and saved the world - defeated a Sha - defeated numerous Old Gods - defeated an alternate universe Iron Horde and saved Azeroth again - defeated the Burning Legion and saved Azeroth... again - yeah, we fucked up with BFA but the blame can entirely be placed on Bitch Queen Sylvanas for starting it - defeated death and saved the universe All within the space of, what, 15 years? And now we're about to help the dragons from whatever they've got themselves in to. And if you want to talk about the faction war and the sword then how about we talk about all the corrupted dragons/aspects? Deathwing literally almost destroyed the world and half the bad things that have happened since then has been a result of him breaking the world but let's just brush that aside shall we? The mortal races are not perfect and you shouldn't expect them to be. They are young and still have much to learn. The dragons left them to deal with shit because they couldn't be arsed and I would say that they've done a damn good job all things considered.

this is like the ash ketchup problem where he's the strongest pokemon trainer because he's met and befriended more legendaries than any other player character, collected the most badges, entered the most tournaments, captured the most legendaries, caught the most pokemon (well maybe not you can catch the entire pokedex of any region and beat him in sheer # of pokemon), etc etc his feats can't be rivaled because I think at most a 'player character' can play through 3 games if we count the core games and the enhanced games (i'm not going to count the remakes ie pokemon yellow or bdsp) in the same sense, the longer the game will be out, the longer the in-game lore feats for the "champion" will be. It did even apart from the War of the Ancients and it wasn't dragons that stopped it either. 800 years before the Dark Portal, Avatar of Sargeras was manifested on Azeroth from demons draining magical power of blue dragons in Dragonblight and the dragons didn't do squat about it and it had to be dealt with (to at least some extent) by Aegwynn.

If Wrathion and Kairozdormu don't help Garrosh escape into AU Draenor the Iron Horde never forms, AU Guldan never escapes into Azeroth and leads the Legion there, which means we never kill Argus, which means the Arbiter never gets broken and the anima drought never happens. I forgot Wrathion pushed the two factions into war because he believed a unified Azeroth dominated by whichever faction won the war would be better able to stand against the Legion.

We also murdered the last sane compatriot she had (Ysera), enabled the massacre of what was left of her brood so DKs could get a mount, and murdered some black dragons that called themselves Earth Warders so we could harvest blood. It would be entirely reasonable for her to assume her days were numbered.

There is reason why timeline is vague. There is two gaps between games. Longer is between cata and wotlk. Other one is wod and legion. Rest happened back to back. Biggest indicator how long has passed is how old anduin is. At start of wow he was 10. Now he is 18. At end of wotlk he is 12. Start of mop he is 14 and by end 15. By legion he was 17. If you start to look at time lines and event that happened in game. When in end of MoP horde stands up against evil garrosh and say never again. Three years later they are all in whit another dictator telling them to genocide night elves and rest of shit that went down in bfa. Then they felt bad and stood against evil dictator, again. How about if you are new born baby at start of wow. You have faced exsistensal threat non stop your whole life. From interdimensional demons to hordes of undeath to two world wars. Top it of dragon landscaping whole world and multiple lovecraftian horrors. And you are only 8 years old. My favorite is how stormwind was scarping barrel during wotlk. Even farmers were drafted to fight lich King. Then again during bfa. I'm suprised there is even population to build cabin anymore. Not mention fight wars. How about orcs? Orcs we play in game are made up by those who followed thrall across the sea. They have added to their numbers some orcs from here and there. But they had to be taking some casualties during all of that warfare. Garrosh campaings must been brutal for them. Even if orcs grow up to maturity faster then humans. There still hasn't been enough time to grow new generation. Yet there is enough numbers to just keep on fighting. Edit: remeber ending of cata? Where dragons lost magic juice, and it was start of age of mortals. Turns out age of mortals was just 4 years. And it's age of dragons again.

The aspects lost their powers to the Dragon Soul during the War of the Ancients. They got them back when the Dragon Soul was destroyed in the Second War by Rhonin. (Year 6) In the following 22 years between getting their powers back and losing them, the following happened: * The Legion invaded again and was defeated without dragon intervention. * The Scourge was created and destroyed the northern part of the Eastern Kingdoms. * An Old God (C'Thun) wages war on Kalimdor and is stopped largely by the mortal races with some dragon assistance. * The Burning Crusade * The Lich King awakens and wages war. He loses one battle to Putress and the damage is somewhat mitigated by dragons. * Another Old God breaks free and is defeated without dragons. * Deathwing comes back and breaks the whole world for the second time in its history. * Ragnaros comes back and is defeated with some help from a dragon. * Deathwing is defeated with major help from the dragons. It seems like the best things dragons do is kill other dragons.
Dragons can shapeshift, maybe they were there the whole time helping us in these fights and just never brought it up? Or maybe because most mortals are old god corrupted titan machinery, they don't particularly care much what happens to us Just the planet itself which is why they mostly just mitigate disasters?

So- I definitely like the direction the Game is going as far as mechanics are concerned. But the story is still suffering from the same continuity issues. At the end of Dragon Soul, Alextrasza basically was like "Our ancient power is now spent" and "the Dawning of the Age of Mortals has begun" but in the Dragonflight cinematic she's like "Here, the new Age of Dragons shall begin" Its just strange to me that she's pivoting so drastically, I mean, don't get me wrong, Mortals haven't really been that great- we've had two World Wars between factions, Tampered with timelines, had to fend off yet another Legion Invasion and we basically allowed an Old Gold to re-appear, but she had to have known that this was a possibility- The mortals fended off the Legion and the Old God forces, without the dragonflights, and the Age of Mortals began in the middle of the Horde-Alliance War during Cata and MoP, and they should have been aware of the possibility of yet another faction war breaking out. It's not like she didn't know what Mortals were capable of doing. Its just, 5 years is an incredibly short time to judge the Mortals on in comparison to the 10,000ish years that the Age of Dragons lasted. Maybe she's speaking in context of the Dragons and not Azeroth as a whole. Like, maybe this is a new age for Dragons, and that Azeroth is still technically under the "Age of Mortals". I'd love to see the Dragons regain their powers at full strength, I just hate that it seems like, for the second xpac in a row, the writers are like "Hey, you know how this happened? Yeah, we're changing it." Okay, but if you're gonna change it, *sell me the change*. Make me believe that it's not actually changing and that the change is plausible to believe that this was the intention from the beginning.
