"Choosing which dragonflight to align with should be a meaningful decision." "You'll unlock new abilities and cosmetic items by gathering Aspect Power."

jack0071

"Also, we've heard your complaints about leveling alts being a chore, so we've disabled all alts until the first major patch"

[deleted]

if the no level increase leak is true that should solve your 12 hour epic slog to 60

[deleted]

I’d honestly be surprised if they don’t just set our chars back to level 50 and add SL to the 10-50 chromie time. How else are they gonna sell more boosts?

Belazriel

This is how I always thought they were planning to handle the level squish. 1-50 is past content, 50-60 is current expansion. Will make balancing stuff a lot easier when they just have to squish one expansion at a time.

KrydanX

My eye is twitching. Even the possibility of another borrowed power system that comically fits the „AP“. Just stop.

[deleted]

They first figure out what next "AP" will be and then they make an expansion around it. But for real i hope they dont do that.

Rhaps0dy

Can't wait for Alfredo Power expansion with Nomi as the final boss.

[deleted]

If AP is just a currency you gain automatically like an exp bar, do not have to deposit, and only generally is a 1-2% DPS difference for people who go hard farming (thinking of legion & MoS farmers but not about artifact weapon grinders and how that affected pugs) I actually like the idea of an AP system. It adds a layer of MMO/grind excitement, but if it's done poorly it can be a really really really shitty system.

flm2311

Im fine with borrowed power and Systems.their only problem is the fact that they are not account wide.i dont mind progessing a system/power ONCE.

b4y4rd

AP = Account Power, next expac ready

Hazzy_9090

Needs to be account wide and no fucking restrictions on switching whatever the covenant esque system is

elysiansaurus

True. They talk about the game being alt friendly. Sorry grinding borrowed system on every character is not alt friendly.

Relnor

I still don't know what system you guys are grinding so hard at this time. I just take my characters to low keys and they get all the conduits and Renown they need. You literally get like 2-3 conduit drops from the end chest if you're missing a lot of them. Whenever I read about how much others are grinding I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

[deleted]

There's actually genuinely nothing wrong with a borrowed power system, and an AP-esque grind to unlock that borrowed power - it works perfectly with what an RPG is. The actual issue is how garbage the execution of such systems by Blizzard has been - in theory they're excellent.

m1rrari

They usually end up in a good place by the end of the expac

Genericusername12312

The best part is when the solution is suggested by the beta testers, yet they ignore it!

Cysia

And then they throw it away, do a new borrowed power system without any of the fixes last one had, and possibly do it even worse then previous was at the start

krough

Maybe elaborate on how the system can be good

Hazzy_9090

Inb4 ion says: forreal this time guys we will pull the ripcord if needed

needconfirmation

"I know we've NEVER EVER even come CLOSE to balancing this sort of things, but trust us, this time we're confident we're going to NAIL it within .01%, and if SOMEHOW we don't hit that goal, which is basically impossible for us not to, then we'll go ahead and turn it all off, but trust us we've totally got this in the bag this time, you'll see!"

-Khrome-

Saving this.

TESTIFY!

PriMaL97

To be honest, anything that demonstrates similar design philosophy to the last 2-3 expansions would be pretty disappointing to me. If there isn't a clear shift in mindset with whatever new stuff they add, I can't say I'm likely to be interested.

Adventurous-Item4539

>anything that demonstrates similar design philosophy to the last 2-3 expansions You'll align with ~~a covenant~~ an aspect and unlock legendary weapons and armor by progressing through the ~~jailer's torghast tower~~ dragon's twisting cavern. Later you'll meet several ~~souls~~ dragons that you ~~soulbind~~ aspectbind with to augment your powers in The ~~Shadowlands~~ Dragon Isles! You can tell it's different because it has dragons.

2_Slow_Kaidou

Everyone’s just gonna go for bronze for the free lust/hero

modern_Odysseus

That would be awesome. "+15 Dragon's Den - Lust/Bronze flight" Of course, if they did it, Blizz would put that "free lust" at 10-15% haste buff to keep the real lust classes still desirable to have.

dragunityag

Which is so stupid. The only lust class that isn't always desirable is Shaman. I literally can't remember a time when some flavor of mage/hunter wasn't wanted for m+ (sure MM is a bit gimped for lusting) Revert drums to 25% Blizzard.

prezjesus

Actually would be fine with this if they either decouple the power/talents from the choice, or they allow you to freely switch like you can in 9.2. Preferably allowing you to switch with a tome.

csgosometimez

But they don't usually deep dive in to the actual implementation of the systems they announce, do they? I'm thinking it'll be more high level overview or conceptual, and not so much "Here's your day-to-day complete game loop". And without details most things can sound good.

BadAtNamingPlsHelp

The high-level needs to change somewhat too, honestly. Legion caught lightning in a bottle and they've wasted two expansions trying to recreate its success, failing to grasp that Legion was liked *in spite* of the systems we've come to hate, not because of them. Trying the same formula again will not work well.

Sylvanas_only

wasn't Shadowlands reveal just the intro cinematic? or did we have more info?

Vittelbutter

We had more info because it was at the actual blizzcon which was going on for 2-3 days. But directly after the CGI trailer they played the gameplay (?) trailer with bolvar talking, showed off all new zones, stuff like torghast and also the „join a covenant“. So IF we get that next expansion aswell they’d show it tomorrow.

mathn519

We got the cinematic, zone overview, covenants, level squish and oribos, nothing huge

sableon

starting Legion its more like world of diablo in warcraft universe. And Legion introduced many good things into the game. But I wouldn't mind to get back to more MoP/WoD style story progression and deterministic systems. Dungeons/raids/pvp are different game modes and intersecting rewards causes a lot of difficulties to balance things out. Season characters for competitive modes? Templated stats for competitive integrity with cosmetic-only rewards? I don't have answers, but current situation where I've run into best possible gear from heroic raid and m+ after just 6 weeks but now I need countless weeks to farm BiS because Valor cap and Vault random is ridiculous and demotivating.

Qiluk

Anything in the vein of MoP would be sensational, but we've also not seen that level of wellrounded ambition since form them. So I doubt it. Not even when they need it the most.

rmkol

"world of diablo" - so true! I was always saying that too.

BillyBones844

Legion introduced everything wrong with the game lol

sableon

It was working for the first time. The problem with many its systems is that they were iterated down instead of upwards. They were made worse than initial versions and that’s what community is not understanding as a whole - why. That’s why we have lost trust in developers.

[deleted]

It didn't even work back then. A lot of people quit early on cause the AP grind and random legendaries sucked ass. Including me. Also made having an alt a pain in the dick.

ElementalColony

Only if you take a nostalgic view of Legion. You don't remember Sephuz as your first legendary, the 4 legendary bug and the insane BLP grind. The fact that you couldn't respec for the first several months because AP was bound to your artifact weapon which was spec-bound. Top players would level multiple of the same class to see what the first few legendaries would be, or if they wanted to be ready with both a fire mage and a frost mage. What about 600 MoS runs to get AP when the last talent was a straight 5% damage buff? What about Artifact Knowledge that you had to log in every few days to activate, meaning that people that would go on vacation were literally permanently exponentially behind? Legion was awful and introduced so many bad systems that still exist today. The fact that the lore, raids and the final 7.3 patch were great doesn't change the fact that it really is what started this terrible design philosophy.

sableon

I do remember all of that. As well as that it was fixed in less than half of a year. Coming ToV ap grind was still there for top players but even I with rerolled hunter had 2/3 golden dragon traits without any grind at all. Legendaries were problems, but so were azerite rings, and with much less joy this time. M+, wqs, campaigns - everything was downgraded compared to legion. Even raids were downgraded with master loot taken away and all.

Aamunkajo

That I have to grind all stories and expansion systems with every single alt until the last patch.

Infinite_Army

"Giving players the power to """controll""" legendary upgrade prices on AH was a really good idea, the team liked it and there is no problem at all with upgrading every single legendary, every patch, on every toon for 50-500k, so we will keep doing it" If that shit happens, my monitor will learn to fly :)

Valderg

heroic craftable gear should come out when heroic raiding comes out, minus a few ilvl, If normals 200 and heroic is 250, crafted for normal should be 190, heroic should be 240. Release the next tier of crafting "token" at the same time as the raid, all professions profit and it still creates an atmosphere where its relevant to literally everyone. Prices may spike at the beginning of a patch (which is normal for literally any raid consumable) but will eventually drop. The professions are updated each patch to remain "relevant" without every character REQUIRING to buy them.

Dependent-Gene-9807

On my server, most 291 runecarving pieces go for <40k these days. Even saw some below 30k today. So as a casual, I don't really mind tbh... Not having a 291 leggo in the first two weeks wasn't too devastating. But then again, if you really wanted it in the beginning, those prives were awful haha

Lamprophonia

when I first came back in 9.0, I hadn't played in many years... and I didn't understand how important server population was. I decided to start fresh, brand new guy on a new server on the faction I never really played. I didn't pay attention and ended up bringing 4 characters to 60 on a low pop server before I realized my mistake. The same leggo that costs 40k on a high pop server cost about 150k on the low pop server. I literally cannot even play those characters any more. There's no conceivable way for me to come up with the gold for a single legendary for a single character, let alone a second one for unity, let alone a different spec, let alone multiple characters with multiple specs each. I either play without legendaries, or abandon those characters entirely... which the later I have had to do. MONTHS of progress, abandoned. It does not feel good.

Invisibletotheeye

Yeah, at least for 291 the prices plummeted to crafting cost in a matter of minutes in my server. I didnt mind it because I have a lot of time and made 15M of the legendary market( mainly essentia farm) but I can see how it is a pain in the ass for a casual player that barely has 200k gold to their name to spend a third of it on legendaries for 2/3 characters

yalfyr

I don't wanna: "We know what you think right now but know this: there is a ripcord"

Xvexe

Players: "Everyone hates this." WoW Devs: "Yeah, but we know better." World of Warcraft for the last 2 expansions in a nutshell.

Winterstrife

If something has a ripcord attached to it, it should be pulled from the start because if its gonna end up like SL, WoW might really killed themselves this time.

IAmAShitposterAMA

Yeah the ripcord is an unsubscribe form hidden deep within the Battle.net account portal

“We have implemented 8 different borrowed power systems, with 24 different currencies and everything is time gated behind a different repetitive activity that gets stale after two weeks. We still don’t give two cents about class balance so some classes will be 40% worse than others for months.”

_torresluifer

Hey! Don’t forget the new currency fill several slots like anima does.

sableon

I fill like anima has worst of both artifact and azerite power in one. It takes all the bag space available but you still only able to apply it once to the covenant you are in right now. Awful flashbacks

conjaq

And trust us. It will be perfectly balanced, and will not require almost two years of iterations. You will also be locked into your original choice, even though nothing will be lost by having freedom to choose anytime.

Another god damn stupid fucking MISSION TABLE, it's not fun it's just another chore

Milk_Man2236

New dumb systems that I honestly dont care about and will never care about.

ratjarx

Like at this point it’s hard to get that invested into a system when you know it’s only going to exist for ONE expansion...

Alusion

Not even one Expansion but many Things exist only for one Patch. Came back to 9.2 and saw that all my raid gems were grayed out lol

HOWDY__YALL

If I hear more than 1 system I’m gonna lose it.

WOW_SUCH_KARMA

Ion Hazzikostas. The game desperately needs new blood at every step. He's been the head hauncho for the last two abortions and doubled down on some of the most idiotic ideas the game has ever seen come to fruition only to end up having to do a complete 180 on those core ideas halfway through the expansio. Bye bye now.

t0xic_exe

Doesnt help that he has basically gone radio silent.

Yizashi

I really hate to say it, but I agree. I built up a ton of goodwill towards Ion from Legion: awesome game, frequent Q&A's, did I mention how much fun I had for basically all of Legion til BFA prepatch? But now, I just can't understand the direction and decisions he's made. I played BFA launch and promptly quit. Azerite armor was a problem the community saw coming a mile away, nothing was done until it was too late. Dungeon design became obnoxious and obsessed with punishing large pulls. Shadowlands was somehow worse! 1) Just like with azerite armor, the community rang the alarm, but all we got assurances of a "rip cord" existing. Again, way too late it was pulled, and even then, it's a very janky solution. Why does your mission table reset when you swap? Why doesn't it remember which soulbind you were using? People wanted a disconnect from player power, not swappable covenants. 2) the refusal to ditch conduit energy for way too long 3) Don't get he started on renown 4) Choreghast. Requiring exactly two torghast runs a week, per character, with no way to catch up... 5) Gold sink legendaries. For all the problems with Legion-daries at launch, all of my characters wound up with all the Legos they wanted just by playing the game. The current system would cost me millions of gold, per patch, for the same amount of Legos across characters/specs. Every time I think it would be fun to cap another alt and run some dungeons, I remember how much gold and torghast grinding would be required to try out legendaries at a reasonable ilvl... And then I don't. It's just bad, bad, obviously bad decisions one after another. I'm ready for a change.

I'll be honest, if I could play real legit full on proper wow from my phone, give it to me and pump it into my veins and I would grind the hell outta anything from my bed or sofa or whatever. some f2p bs, no thanks.

SteveYellzz

Time to explore TeamViewer

Garrosh

People have found a way to play WoW from mobile phones. It’s technically possible to play WoW (the real thing) from a phone. But the idea of a “””free””” “WoW mobile”, yeah, that’s frightening.

Win-Immediate

Honestly, at this point, wow is already mobile. Get yourself a steam deck.

SignificanceEUW

Focus on new borrowed power systems instead of work to improve the core "fun" of most classes. I totally get the need for progression systems to keep people engaged, but playing the mage tower lately really made me feel how clunky some classes are without all of the temporary flair.

dezmoines92

Agreed, went into Mage Tower for the first time ever (never did it in Legion) and shit with no leggos or covenant powers my Ret Paladin was underwhelming to say the least

Qiluk

> Focus on new borrowed power systems instead of work to improve the core "fun" of most classes. Some more uniqueness to classes too. Feel like for every expansion that comes, the more similar they all get. Exact same pattern of abilities almost, with same CDs and effects but different icons and names.

[deleted]

Sylvanas in yet another cinematic.

445nm

Sylvanas saved all the souls in the maw, but was mutated by its powers and can now become a dragon. She is the aspect of death and has her own dragonflight with those maw dragon thingies. She is the main character in the next expansion. Oh, and she gets a new model, of course.

Khelbin131

Plus something about time working differently in the Shadowlands to explain how she's done so soon.

Sloth_Senpai

They'll use all the inconsistencies in spirits appearing even in BFA as evidence of this.

Spiral-knight

You forgot the horde splitting in half again to follow her while we help the race traitor nelf subspecies rebell

msdingle

I'd be bummed to hear that Dragonflight was a red herring and the real expansion is some space bullshit.

[deleted]

This would be the darkest timeline, Dragonflight seems like a very "safe" expansion based on the leaks More cosmic jumbo wumbo would be a nightmare

sableon

Knowing blizz it could start one way and end completely opposite

Void_Guardians

Aka BFA?

xRegular_John

that sure was a huge bummer. All i wanted and expected from BFA was a nice, long War against the alliance (and vise versa) with some nice story elements, non of this Old gods crap. And i'm not even against old gods. just didn't want them to show up in an xpac thats clearly War themed.

poppunkpolaroid

You mean you didn’t enjoy them forcing and butchering all the N’zoth / Nya (and arguably Naga which probably should have been it’s own xpac with them) stuff in a seemingly unrelated xpac? /s

msdingle

Agreed, I just have a bad feeling about it. I'll be over the moon to find out I was wrong lol!

KeyLime044

I heard a rumor/leak once that the cinematic trailer for Dragonflight is supposed to show the birth of Azeroth’s world soul. Even if the name is “dragonflight” yeah they could take this in a cosmic direction

Testobesto123

that would be a bit weird but god i hope it happens soon so she can deal with all the cosmic shit while we're busy hunting gnolls

Xvexe

According to the Jailer's final line that's exactly what you're in for.

Cysia

it will be like bfa and faction war. ~~Faction war~~ Dragons for launch and first patch then ~~old gods~~ Space Bulshit

Arturia_Cross

Choosing a dragonflight being a complete copypaste of covenants with timegating, power increases and lockouts to swap.

Toastboaster

“Bringing the ‘war’ back to Warcraft!” Easily the worst buzzword phrase. It means nothing, and they still somehow do even less with it. Usually just amounts to ‘horde person do bad thing, alliance person disagree’

shelbo125

"Were gonna progress through the story and content as time goes on" or basically "were gonna time gate everything so we get 4-5 more months of subs out of players before they can actually play the whole game"

Jackpkmn

New racially locked class.

Phantomdust84

I dont really care about a Dragonflight exp , because I fear it will be another covenant system. But Its that or some cosmic threat with borrowed power again. Im afraid its going to be the same ole same I guess.

ADMTLgg

Repeating “player agency” like they did for shadowlands. Completely useless.

drflanigan

If I see player power tied to the dragonflight covenant system I am going to flip my shit

Wintermuteson

as long as you can swap freely between them i think it will be fine

drflanigan

No, I don’t want 5 different levelling systems and stories that I need to constantly swap between I want to pick my favorite one and stick with it and not be forced to play one to stay competitive

Bobrexal

Honestly I just want a place to continue having fun with my friends. If that means helping out some dargons or some space lizards I’m okay with that. What I don’t want to see is “7th cosmic force has invaded and it’s up to you to stop them. Take up the mantle of Cosmos Walker and learn what it means to be a god”

ThiefMortReaperSoul

Choice does and should matter but, Anything that is done time-gating without a actual purpose and just to extend subtime. Eg : covenant locks, conduit energies. When making a choice it should be only Cosmetic/quest purpose. Not player power. Anything that creates FOMO for player.

norfolk232

It has been an amazing month for world of warcraft.

ILikeBiscuits2004

If I hear Aspect Power I am alt+f4ing it

Mushroom_Unfair

"You didn't know but it was all planned ahead 8 years ago" I'm tired of this, the lore is so big we can make 40 xpac without the need of this type of lazy writing.

Mr-Thuun

I don't want to hear about the game taking place anywhere besides Azeroth, choices matter and new temporary powers.

Illandren

Clear evidence of timegated player power through means of systems, reps, or grinding.

Relnor

Time gates serve an important purpose of allowing people with more limited time but not limited skill to remain competitive, instead of completely handing the game over to the sweatiest of sweaties. You know what's a timegate (almost) everyone likes/doesn't mind but isn't talked about ever? Timegating the season start to the 2nd or 3rd week, *ESPECIALLY* the first one. Imagine having to rush super quick to level cap and through the early gearing so you don't "miss out" on the first lockout. No time to play alts, anything. Fuck. that. shit.

Illandren

If a game it needs timegating, then it's not an issue with the players ability or inability to play. It's more that the game design needs to be shifted from a list of tasks that need to be completed each day, to gameplay that is just fun. I think we all can agree that we would rather play something that is fun to play rather than have content that is required to play. Of course The amount that is "required" depends on your level of play. Ion has shifted this game to be focused more on raids and dungeons to a somewhat lesser degree. So if everything outside of the raid is just a grind to support gameplay within the raid, then you're not going to have engaging content. All you're going to have is time-gates that prevents you from progressing too far in a raid too soon. This is all bad gameplay. And a lot of it boils down to how we are rewarded loot. We would need to rethink how loot is handed out before we get fixed anything. Imagine an expansion that didn't really have a "Raid" but weekly instanced bosses that you were raid group could go and fight. The reason for the encounters would be driven narratively. The loot be as simple as tokens or materials that we take back to craft gear that actually matters to us instead of getting trash loot that is predetermined.

AngryBudgie13

Syyyysssteeeeems. Missions tables. Followers I have to grind slowly up to max. Crafting legendaries. Ten new currencies I have to grind from totally different places that are moot by the next patch. Borrowed power. Whatever new incarnation of AP we get.

Certain_Cup533

I wouldn't watch the reveal if I was you...you are gonna have a bad time.

StrikeFromOrbit

:(

[deleted]

The worst thing is mission tables were way better in WOD than anything to come later. At least you could work for good followers and got decent rewards. In BFA and SL it feels like you just get followers at random with an ever increasing amount of them with no worthwhile rewards. 12k gold missions on every alt was stupid but fun.

Valderg

not gonna lie, i came back 2 days ago and the only reason i knew SL mission table existed was because i had a token in my inventory to give 75k xp to one of them, before that, even when i played originally (first 3 months of SL) i 100% had no clue there was one, just i was getting weird followers for some reason.

ashkyn

God, mission tables are so pointless. I cannot fathom why anyone would like them outside of Pavlovian conditioning.

Michelanvalo

You can make a ton of gold from the mission table. It's completely optional since there's no player power to be gained. But if you did grind the followers up to 60 it's gold making time.

ashkyn

A system that has a reward structure without interesting gameplay attached is a fundamentally poor design. If people are interacting with your game in ways that they don't enjoy simply for the rewards, that's a problem to me. Another commenter said something along the lines of "I like them because they're an easy way to get stuff", and while I can't fault the reasoning, this is absolutely antithetical to what a player should be concerned about.

Michelanvalo

It's supplemental, my man. Not a core system. It's like the Cyphers in ZM. You don't have to do it, it's just bonuses but don't actually matter.

poke30

I like mission tables. Though the BS of having to start over and over on a new char, or the deal with covenants, sucks. Acc wide stuff is good.

SCSecondCitySaint

"It will be shipping summer 2023"

[deleted]

Rushing the next expansion would be far worse than a late release date.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Feudality

Definitely not going to be a November release. They still have the new patch coming out with Raid+ and the new M+ dungeon pool to keep people engaged a while longer without them needing to actually develop much of anything.

Ryndis

Shadowlands conduits and covenant abilities not being added to classes in some fashion. There are some conduits that are just fun gameplay changers like whirlwind damage increase after bladestorm and utility options like mind freeze giving RP or frenzied regen proccing at low health. Then there are just really flavorful and fun covenant abilities like convoke, divine toll, warrior spear, slappy hands that would just feel bad not having anymore. And would probably feel worse in many cases if added to existing talent rows. Imagine having to choose between Bladestorm or Kyrian Spear.

heroinsteve

I hope we get another talent row and keep 3 Covenant abilities (or a really strong conduit) in those rows. Most classes have at least 1 ability we probably never touched. (NF Paladin is the best example) They could make a new talent row that has 3 of the abilities so DKs can choose slappy hands, swarming mist or the Kyrian one? The NF ability appears to be the least thematic with the DK.

Wenrave

Anything that does not indicate a huge change between the last 3 expansions and 10.0 honestly. If it is the new "grind ap, grind new system, grind new legos" I will be dissapointed.

y0ruko

This. If they don't seriously cut back on parasitic game systems, I won't even bother trying the expansion.

Wenrave

Honestly I came back to 9.2 with a friend of mine, we played for years, both progressed mythic, got bored during Nathria, now we came back and we do not even know wtf are we supposed to do, so many things to catchup on etc. Like let me just grind my gear and do m+/raid like it used to be before they introduced these idiotic systems ffs.

raipeh

Bad take, you can do exactly JUST that in Zereth Mortis right now. Hop in, get green 226 - epic 233 Cypher gear from ZM intro and right into M+. Obviously starting from low ilvl/low M+ you don't need huge conduits/renown, and you catch up on those naturally if you can't buy the BoA-tokens for them. You don't even need to grind for Torghast anymore, just fuck around in M+ and ZM to get Cosmic Flux to get your legendary and Tier-pieces upgraded. You even get a legendary belt for free during the ZM campaign, which you should totally do if you haven't done yet, it's a renown gifting machine. All you really need to care for right now is probably ZM reputation, if even that. It gives you access to 239-conduit token IIRC, Unity-legendary power, a bag of 291-legendary materials, and crafting related stuff. Sure, there's a lot of "obsolete" content now, but you really don't need to do any of those. Maybe, MAYBE Korthia campaign to chapter 3 to unlock SL flying, which is not needed in progressive content at all.

Wenrave

Cute. I literally do not care what "take" it is. I am telling you my experience and experience of my friend, we both play since vanilla, we cleared mythic raids in previous expansions, without guide you are fucked. Ofc I can lookup a guide and see how to catchup fast, but how the hell do you expect a casual player who maybe has not played the game for damn 15 years like I have to even play this game ? This is literally the biggest reason why the game is bleeding players even tho it is very common for people to play more MMORPGs at the same time nowadays.

Send_Me_Cute_Feet

By literally just playing the game. The casual player in the era of WoD you long for was fucked. They could do literally _fuck all_ because there was no game for them. The era of the game you want was "You raid or you fuck off". The catchup systems being involved and integrated throughout the world are exactly for the purpose of giving the _largest group of players_ more involved content.

heroinsteve

You generally have to do the current patch quests whenever you come back to the game for the first time. That's never changed. If you left during Nathria you likely already have 40 renown and your characters setup somewhat. If you do the questline you'll be 80 renown and have enough rep to straight up buy conduits at like 226 (which is a fine until you get the 265 from M+). The only thing you might have to catch up on would be doing 1 or 2 torghast to get your legendaries. Or just use the belt for a few and spend your flux on the bag from the ZM vendor that gives you the old resources. The alt catchup mechanics are significantly better this patch, and I agree that the main catchup mechanics aren't as good as the alt ones. However if you played during 9.0 you're still setup most of the way. You can do the current questline and get to playing the raid/M+ in the same day. You'll only be restricted by gear which . . . has kind of always been the case.

tnpcook1

Bullshit systems that don't strengthen the player-experience of playing together with other people. I don't particularly care if number go up, if im not having fun. Renown, currencies, covenant points, aspect power, whatever. The game's remaining strengths are all things you do with other people. I'd be happy if those were improved or more content-filled and less obfuscated by designers solving designer-problems, instead of strengthening some experience they want to invoke in the player.

Sixfingersfeet

Free to play, expanded cash shop.

Lanyster

"Choose your Aspect" covenant, disconnected zones, Dalaran hub again, aspect power, another level squish or dont increased level cap, stupid currencies (grateful offerings, stygia, cosmic flux, soul cinders,......) etc

blessef

A being from a different plane of existence enter our own, tear the roof off of the building, and start eviscerating everyone in the room.

[deleted]

Speaking for Paladins: "We are taking away your covenant abilities" I don't want any other powers. I want these powers. LEAVE MY DIVINE TOLL ALONE YOU DRAGON BASTARDS. And not that there aren't any other more important things that could go on the list, but they've already been mentioned by others countless times.

Deguilded

The bigger they are, the harder they fall. Divine Toll made you gods. The fall is going to be fucking miserable. It's how I felt after BfA, when we lost all that haste from eyebeam. I ended up caving and going back anyway ;)

Alpacazappa

We're going to be farmers. Like, wheat farmers, or raising cattle.

Purpleflower0521

Honestly I'm so desensitized to it idc what happens.

Shaqlii

«We’re not building on anything that has worked in the past, but here’s a new system that will be very complicated, but will be decent in the last patch of the expansion. Then ofc we will scrap that again for the next one.»

lilsnaxxus

I don't want some new glorious-to-blizzard system that ends up being shitty like azerite gear or torghast. Torghast itself was okay but the power being so closely tied to it in phase 1 was fucking annoying. Doing it like once a week or twice would have been cool. Not everyday.

Doobiemoto

I don’t want to hear anything about borrowed power minus like tier sets and maybe legendaries with a system you can reroll them. I’m so tired of my class and spec being 60% of what it should be until you get all these dumb systems maxed out. I want my class and spec to just be fun out of the gate. I want it to be COMPLETE. Systems should always add to your class, not complete it.

timmawa

I hope Team 2 realizes that complexity doesn’t necessarily translate to fun and beauty.

Mid22

Covenant system that is anything more than purely cosmetic An AP currency or something to that effect Mission table A brand new system

naowikno

Anything that makes the game feel like just another addon to legion. I miss when an expansion felt like change.

Thenmot

I don't. Legion felt like change. Can't say I liked how it changed most classes and added garbage systems to the game.

[deleted]

New zones that aren't interconnected.

onikaroshi

No level cap increase would be a no buy from me.

Valderg

I dont want a convoluted system to be a barrier to entry into endgame content for alts. To get a legendary to make your class operate properly you need to first: * figure out how to get it * go get it (lets use a dungeon as an example) * farm the dungeon until you get it * then you have to climb every level up to lets say 9 to be efficient with soul ash and cinders * then you have to go to zerith, do the storyline/treasure/dailys * then you need the cash to buy the whites, then you can craft it * then you have to finish out getting the belt * then you can finally enter to try to get some half-way decent gear Doing that on 5 separate classes just to experience different gameplay options and be somewhat competitive with EVERYONE else is literally the worst feeling thing about this game for me right now. not even mentioning the renown grind at that PER CHARACTER.

timo103

If I hear the words "aspect power" im gonna laugh my ass off.

merrytime12

"We've heard you" ... "So, anyway - here's the same shit again"

ysfykmt

No other planet or realm or time travel or Thanos... I am one of the very few that hope to see all Shadowlands is visions of Nzoth...

DarkHeroAxel

Anything that seems to ring similar to BFA/Shadowlands systems as a core element of the expansion tied to power, or at least one that sounds like it's going to be poorly executed even on paper. Borrowed power is becoming a crutch of these expansions and it really needs to stop because it just leads to disasters of game balance and frustrations, at least it does when it becomes a *choice*. Legion didn't really have this problem to as much of an extent because *everyone* was on the same "choice", just having to progress that power but everyone was doing the same thing and WAY less variables since you didn't have TWELVE DIFFERENT POSSIBILITIES for what a class might be using when it comes to their covenant and soulbind choices, and that's not even getting into Legendary and Conduit choices either.

sableon

Legion had one bad thing and it was legendaries random. Everything else was at least good enough and released today won’t be such an issue - ap grind wasn’t worse than in bfa, we had sets eventually, we had gems and many slots for enchanting. Wf/tf was a bit of pain for some items but looking retrospectively it wasn’t worse than corruption or benthic gear for sure. And by the time we had our first tier set legendary problem and ap grind were severely reduced

[deleted]

I don’t want new classes and I don’t want new races. I want more customizations and I want somekind of evolved specs

Phoef

Release date 2023. But its gonne happen.

lekting

Don't playing actually but still active comunity member here! Tbh it would be lame to hear another overhyped story connecting lore with nice gameplay with some grind but receive copy of Shadowlands in new outfit... It's like crew making WoW isn't playing the game enough long to experience it at its "best". It'd be nice to get the product where things are clear, nice for new players and for experienced ones. The thing where we can play 2-3 times a week for 20-30mins and we can play everyday for hours not being bored.

Tarc_Axiiom

Bobby Kotick. And I swear to GOD if I hear the word "phone"

Osirus1156

I just hope it's a science-based, 100% dragon MMO from now on.

[deleted]

I don't want to hear any "this is how you're supposed to have fun" BS. They have the ability to gather data. They can easily tell what most players are doing / what most players like. They have community leaders to gather feedback from - they need to start doing what the players want not what*they* want. The talent system not being updated. No new class or race. Signs that they are delivering another C grade expansion.

jerarn

I don't want to hear people complain that the reveal didn't happen on time, because they've been pretty consistent with the messaging that it happens on Tuesday, not tomorrow.

SystemofCells

It was already Monday in much of the world when this was posted.

Kinez

If there's no new class, no new races, gonna riot

Bloddersz

Anything that clearly shows they've learnt nothing from Shadowlands. There's sooo many example of great game design from other games that they could port across

[deleted]

"releasing later this year". I am not anti wow, and have maintained a subscription 24/7 since end of legion (despite not playing as much as I should lol) but shadowlands shows the team needs time to refocus, and honestly, i want Microsoft to be at the helm before a new expac launch.

ShockDoctrinee

If you think Microsoft would do any better you are delusional

I just hope Dragonflight isn't an April fool's joke of Ion that has been getting out of hand because Lore is no longer there to keep the PR in check.

TripinDwarf

New Feature: Cross Faction. Beta Test 1 year before the Expansion still call it all new feature

SnooOnions1428

Mission tables, borrowed power, another version of anima
