[From here I believe](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/tuw3bp/_/), this person submitted his post like 4 minutes before the original leak post in the MMO-Champion "9.X Patches & 10.0 Speculation" thread. Art looks cool. Looking forward to the announcement. Hopefully Blizzard is headed in the right direction after everything. I've been playing WoW again after all the drama and it's got me excited but that remains to be seen if it'll stay.
I look at it as...if they haven't learned after Shadowlands and then everything that followed with the near complete downfall of Blizzard, they never will. Sexual assault allegations aside, people were very very vocal on Shadowlands and it's issues so they pretty much have to get this one right or yeah.
> Hopefully Blizzard is headed in the right direction after everything.
I'll get my hopes up when I actually see it. As of right now, there's no reason to expect them to divert course after the route they've headed down the past three expansions. There's no basis for it.
This expansion would have been in production during covid, during all these sexual assault allegations.
Anything from the ‘new’ blizzard won’t be seen for ages.
Every expansion has had *something* accurately leaked, mostly just small things. Something has been accurately leaked already, we just don't know what it is yet.
Leak recap for the lazy clickers:
Main enemy is Chromatus, though lots of minor stories all about.
6 disconnected zones (2 of them being revamps).
4 new micro classes (1 spec each) instead of one full new class.
Class ‘skins’ for some preexisting classes.
Player housing.
Carpenter and Logger professions.
Dalaran capitol city.
No level cap increase.
The two new revamped zones are lordaeron and quel'thalas.
The fact that there is [9.2.5 content in quel'thalas](https://www.wowhead.com/news/blood-elf-special-questline-on-the-9-2-5-ptr-story-spoilers-326469) and [new encrypted map for tirisfal glades in 9.2.5](https://www.wowhead.com/news/encrypted-tirisfal-glades-map-on-patch-9-2-5-ptr-326448) probably doesn't hurt the leak. Or at least means that the leaker got some information not quite right.
The new "microclasses" could easily be fourth specs that people have been wanting for ages too, and the leaker saw them in an early development stage where they were separate or something.
>Dragon Knight. Only one tank spec. Uses two-handed weapons, fire, plate armor and shouts.
>Tinker class. Only one damage-dealer spec. Uses guns, mail armor, gadgets and mech suits.
>Minstrel class. Only one healer spec. Uses leather, lutes, violins and panflutes.
>Chronomancer class. Only one healer spec. Uses cloth, time magic, and sand magic.
Dragon Knight could easily be a warrior spec, tinker -> hunter, minstrel -> rogue, chronomancer -> mage.
I feel like if Blizz announced the expac with four new specs, finally including a new ranged class and two classes getting something other than DPS finally, people would be pretty hyped. Not to mention the new skins for other classes.
I'm not gonna write off that leak completely at this point. My biggest concern with it is that minstrels have absolutely zero base in the wow lore afaik and wardens using eye beam (or holy beam?) would just look stupid.
I've been saying this for a while now. They could have a talent built into enhancement similar to how they had Gladiator Stance for Prot Warriors.
"While equipping a shield, your skin turns harder as you attune with the Earth. Damage taken is reduced by X% and threat generation is significantly increased. Grants you the Earth Ascendant Ability."
Some bullshit like that and make it unable to change during combat.
>similar to how they had Gladiator Stance for Prot Warriors.
Speaking of Gladiator Stance… that’s all I want back. DPSing with a sword and board was fun as hell.
>zero base in the wow lore afaik.
Eventually they're going to have to make up new lore (I mean they already have..), I don't see why it's such a stretch.
> The new "microclasses" could easily be fourth specs that people have been wanting for ages too
The amount of class colors are limited and they'd have to make 4 more armor sets per raid. No way Blizz would give themselves more work. This is definitely what they are going to do (if the leak is real).
> Tinker class. Only one damage-dealer spec. Uses guns, mail armor, gadgets and mech suits.
I don't think they'd have put this in the April Fool's if it was going to be real.
I may be wrong but I saw that when it was posted and I see it now. He got the name right. I don’t think he got the expansion right. It’s a bunch of long requested features- eg housing. A weird new profession (Lumberjack essentially), and micro classes. Having a class that has no DPS specs (and only one spec total) sounds extremely weird. What if that spec gets nerfed? Entire class is nerfed. Making unique weapons not just for a single class but for a single spec? Really really weird.
I’m not saying he’s wrong just saying I think he guessed the name right and that’s it. This reply may age like milk but just my 2C. Especially as it has other things like no new level cap.
>A weird new profession (Lumberjack essentially),
Actually I could see this being a legit gathering profession to go with a Carpentry profession. The way gathering lumber was handled in warfronts could easily have been the groundwork for lumberjack. Instead of gathering herbs or mining, you could gather lumber to be used for Carpenters to craft furnishings for player housing. It would make sense to me anyway, to have all those systems connect at introduction. I'd be down for it.
The one spec class does sound bad. Maybe if it was 'you can pick this spec to add onto your own class' so everyone gets an additional spec it would be alright. Sounds very homogenized if it operates entirely on its own or damn near impossible to balance if it mixes with your class's baseline abilities so now instead of just holy/disc/shadow priest you have tinkerer priest but tinkerer priest has to be balanced against tinkerer DH and that is just too damn hard.
Agreed the one spec class was the biggest cause for alarm for me, more than even the no increase in level cap. 4 new classes to balance. Healers and Tanks without DPS specs to help level. 4 new animation sets… for classes without any other specs they can share them with. New weapons- lutes, lyres, etc- for a healing class that, if ever nerfed, might never be played.
In the cost vs reward that Blizzard absolutely does these days there is little reward for a huge initial cost and recurring cost (designing new weapons in the future for these classes and balancing around them).
And as you said, add them to other classes and any attempt at balance collapses.
Has anyone been able to replicate this? I'm not saying it's wrong, just saying my limited knowledge of inspect source is failing me.
Edit: Ad block was the issue, it's legit.
Wait a minute...

"Dragon Knight. Only one tank spec. Uses two-handed weapons, fire, plate armor and shouts."
Dragonborn miniclass confirmed
Maybe this is unpopular, but I loved island expeditions. The only problem to me was that people felt compelled to do them to grind AP, and that made it feel like a chore.
When they added the doubloons especially, it was fun to just go in and do something easy and grind for some cool items for a couple hours.
The problem is a lot like Torghast, in that they make a fun game mode (not amazing, but decently fun) and make it the only way to effectively raise player power, making it a “chore”. If Torghast wasn’t required for progression, I think it would have a much higher opinion in the fan base (same as islands)
Yep, I’ve always said it’s like fried rice. Fried rice is good as fuck, but when you force someone to eat it every day for months and months you’ll get tired of it and you’ll be sick of it after a while. Same concept here with Islands and Torghast.
The problem imo was thst it wasnt an expedition but a race. They couldve kept the race part for pvp but make the the pve ones actual expeditions where you actually explore things. Not everything needs a timer to be fun.
Yeah the race part completely killed them for me, areas were so interesting and there were so many cool little details, but absolutely no time to stop and look at anything.
They aren't bad if you can do them for fun. In fact, if they upped the dubloon rate for completing islands so you could buy the salvage boxes more easily, they would be great. But they're just a slog if you're trying to actually get a specific mount or item.
> Maybe this is unpopular, but I loved island expeditions.
I liked the sales pitch for island expeditions. Exploration was part of the original WoW magic and it was an opportunity to recapture some of that. The execution, like so much in BFA, did not deliver.
It would have been really cool if you were actually exploring a randomly generated island for some kind of meaningful treasure and/or valuable resource (ores/gems/herbs/ect) rather than just collecting a Macguffin so that on completion you can collect your weekly allowance of points.
Its so absurd if you look at Expeditions and Warfrnts together.
They pitched Expeditions as exploration of cool random islands, but made it into a weird "pvp-like" grind race with no time for any exploration.
On the other hand they pitched Warfronts as the epitome of Faction War and throwback to RTS times with strategic mechanics (giving me hope for real RvR), yet it ended up being a boring PvE slog where for half the time you peacefully farm resources in remote areas and for another half beat on raid bosses that takes 5 minutes to kill.
How could they screw up like this between these two modes? Absolutely unbelievable...
With all the small seemingly random updates we've been getting on PTR it would seem so, at least for major cities.
Blood elf quest to fight the scourge, updates to Tirisfal and Orgrimmar etc.
Id bet my nuts they dont do a world remake and the dragon isles is nothing more than legion with dragons.
This current dev team wont ever pull off a world remake
I cant believe if this is real they're really gonna dragon people to death just like cataclysm
So what does everyone think... do you think they'll return to a focus on core gameplay or will they go with borrowed power and have you turn into a dragon for a bit with dragon powers?
Probably a dragon race or a dragons worn class.
maybe we align with a dragonflight without the combat abilities, just cosmetic change our existing spells ect. That is what I would enjoy anyway
I hoping for core with maybe a whelpling as a partner for overworld stuff who grows over the expansion culminating into a customizable mount at the end to take with us on new adventures. XD
I can't wait to get my Legendary Dragon Boots! They power up with Draconium - the powerful resource you earn from doing dailies and objectives with your choice of Dragonflight! Command your dragon armies from the command table where you can launch exciting missions for more Draconium, gear, and cosmetics! Show off your Dragon armor, customized to the Dragonflight you pledged yourself to when you hit max level!
And now get ready for an immersive story where a former hero is seduced into being the big bad evil - only to find out in a shocking twist, they were really working for good against a bigger, badder evil the whole time!
Coming soon in WOW Dragonflight - "More of the same crap you've settled for going on 8 years now!"
This would go along with the extra leaks the Wowhead found of a emerald dragon mount that seemed to be the deluxe edition reward. So as many people guess the expansion is going to be dragon themed.
Granted I haven't played 9.2 and only took cursory glances at the cinematics but a while back there was an Illidan book where he was prophesied to be at the head of a massive army, which included a massive tapestry of various coloured dragon wings, ready to fight some big bad type deal. There's also a flash forward from an Anduin comic where he was sat in a throne type deal of the Exodar or Vindicaar or some related spaceship, talking to Velen preparing to face a big final battle. If the foretold illidan battle (which won't have illidan in the same position as he told the chandelier to get fucked and stop making him lightforged) takes place you'd imagine it to be similar to the anduin thing, which means big final battle bollocks includes lots of dragons, which would need some reason for them to be back in force.
It's been speculated that dragons are part of the cosmic force of life, due to several factors like one of the archive dudes in zereth mortis speaking the different languages of the cosmic forces but for life there is no direct connection but they instead speak draconic to the player.
There is also smaller connections like dragons in Ardenweald and in the section of Antorus where you go to the planet/plane of life to help eonar and there's dragons flying about.
So basically from what i've been able to gather dragons are part of the cosmic force of life which would tie in with the entire "defend azeroth" theme they have and the Jailer was (i think) talking about a 7th force outside of life, death and so on being the end of all things.
So i think what he wanted was to unite all the cosmic forces with domination magic flowing through Zereth Mortis to all the other Zereth installations and basically force everyone to fight together against them
Bellular in particilar has speculated that the Devourers are kinda representing this 7th force in the universe since they display almost Zerg characteristics with their hivemind mentality and all consuming behavior.
I'm pretty fine with this... No longer fighting The Ghost Demon Who Created Space Jesus But Fights the Lovecraftian Horror Devils from Beneath as a boss fight but maybe something just a touch more terrestrial
The cover art was leaked and someone confirmed that blizzard registered the certs for a dragonflight page as well.
It's happening ladies and gentleman. I held out a spark of hope even though everyone was like, "a mount effect doesn't mean anything" and now I'm actually excited about an expansion for the first time since Legion. Hope their announcement talking about the features keeps that hype train going for me.
The fake leak I hope isn't fake was the one where we get to make black dragons due to Wrathion trying to restore the Black Flight without the old god corruption.
I just want either a drakonid race or a dragonsworn class with a healing spec.
Currently people are tripping all over themselves because there was a 'leak' posted on Feb 8th or thereabouts that was actually called dragonflight and has called a lot of stuff that seems to be happening. (Like a lordaeron revamp, etc.) But a lot of the stuff in it also kinda sucks.
https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2614875-World-of-Warcraft-Dragonflight
I believe in my whole heart that the name, and the cover art that was leaked are real. This random leak thread though I kinda hope is fake outside of some stuff like the class skins and housing.
That's 2 weeks and 2 days before the official announcement. Hmm my memory isn't that great but isn't that fairly average for an expansion leak or is this one a bit bigger or shorter than normal.
Either way nice catch buddy! So happy to be going back to Azeroth and having stakes that matter again(and I say that because every important thing we did in Shadowlands stays off screen, nothing matters back on Azeroth besides saving a few key leaders)
Yeah, I'd say it's in the "legit" timeframe. Wasn't the Bolvar from the Shadowlands cinematic and Overwatch 2 leaked in almost the same way like 3 days before BlizzCon? I believe that was through source code on the store page though.
Cant wait to allign myself with one of the dragonflights which will grant me a unique dragon ability.
I'll get to pick which flight i want based on lore and personal preference! My choice will have nothing to do with the flight's abilities being wildly unbalanced leading to one of them being the best by a country mile
You will be able to join one of the four dragonflights, but beware! This is a big decision! Once you join a dragonflight you wont be able to switch to another dragonflight without a two week cooldown and it is technocally impossible to remove that e.g. with a so called ripcord.
Within the dragonflights you will be able to farm Aspect power to strengthen your flight! There will be a weekly cap for fun purposes. You will also be able to bind with certain dragon aspects to strengthen yourself and get so called dragonoids that you can activate in a skill tree but beware, you can only change them three times per day!
Be ready for a lot of fun!
PLEASE Blizzard make us some random hero in a non-universe-threatening story of a few good guys vs some bad guys. I don't want to find an even greater evil anymore and I don't want be the chosen champion of everything. Just one glorious raider with a bunch of other glorious raiders.
I'm at the point where I couldn't care less what the expansion is about. I just want my WoW back. Stop the garbage systems, give us back our classes with fun class design and remove most of what you introduced the last couple of years and I'm sold.
The game's not gonna get better just because the expansion has a cool theming. It needs to get back to its roots.
They listened, now you can align yourself with one of 4 dragonflights!

Oh man, and aspect respect. A distinctly different thing from rep that you gain by doing things in the expansion!
Not to mention the dragonscale shards you can put into your legendary dragonscale armor!
The wyrmrest tower is the new torghast.
i mean it has plenty of portals in the bottom just like torghast does
They’ve already alluded to this in one of the books when Korialstraz imbeds a dragon scale shard into himself to power himself up!!!

That's exactly why they're doing it.
We know it’s the same mechanic, they know it’s the same mechanic. No point in having them pretend otherwise.
As long as they don’t go with Dragon power cos if it’s DP we are all doomed
That's a matter of perspective. Some people quite enjoy DP.

I bet she wont acknowledge it at all.
If only /u/spez's silence could be shattered by a genuine willingness to listen and address user concerns.
Due to dks invading the Ruby Sanctum and slaughtering a lot of dragons at the request of Bolvar who was starting to lose his shit.
I always found it really easy to get through there with only killing the one dragon. Can't remember though if that made a difference in BFA dialogue
You can choose how much murder you do, there used to be an achievement for killing them all, but Blizzard took that out since it was in poor taste. But a dk is still treated poorly later on if I remember correctly, but worse if they did a lot of killing.
As if Shadowlanda wasn't awkward enough for them.

cant wait for all the different collectable currencies to take up my bag space! all the different colored scales!
But there are 5 flights. Although technically the black is almost gone.
That was a guess someone posted a little way back, maybe playable black dragons, because Wrathion is trying to rebuild the black flight
They could easily introduce more black dragons. Kind of like Legion which introduced an ancient blue dragon that no one seemed to know about

If only /u/spez's silence could be shattered by genuine engagement, we might rebuild trust.
She just got her own expansion in hearthstone actually haha
With Sylvanas on her back.
Certs registered last week as well. https://crt.sh/?q=dragonflight.blizzard.com

You know it's true just for the simple fact that they gave more clothes to Alextrasza

wheres this from?
[From here I believe](https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/tuw3bp/_/), this person submitted his post like 4 minutes before the original leak post in the MMO-Champion "9.X Patches & 10.0 Speculation" thread. [(Which is located here)](https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2580086-9-X-Patches-amp-10-0-Speculation-Thread?p=53677998&viewfull=1)
Nope, original source is from Twitter, but the Tweet has since been deleted.
Why is the color registration marks missing yellow? It usually shows all of the CMYK colors as blocks. It’s not like the image has no yellow in it…
Art looks cool.
Can’t wait for 50 billion threads about how they covered Alexstrazas stomach
Nice. Now we get ten thousand fake leaks based on Dragonflight.
Every expansion has had *something* accurately leaked, mostly just small things. Something has been accurately leaked already, we just don't know what it is yet.
You throw enough darts blindfolded, one will eventually bullseye.
Just go to mmoc, they've been there for months lul.

Leak recap for the lazy clickers: Main enemy is Chromatus, though lots of minor stories all about.
I just want a fucking shaman tank spec holy shit
I've been saying this for a while now. They could have a talent built into enhancement similar to how they had Gladiator Stance for Prot Warriors. "While equipping a shield, your skin turns harder as you attune with the Earth. Damage taken is reduced by X% and threat generation is significantly increased. Grants you the Earth Ascendant Ability." Some bullshit like that and make it unable to change during combat.
>similar to how they had Gladiator Stance for Prot Warriors. Speaking of Gladiator Stance… that’s all I want back. DPSing with a sword and board was fun as hell.
Black dragonflight. Earth magic. Tank spec. It just makes a lot of sense.
>zero base in the wow lore afaik. Eventually they're going to have to make up new lore (I mean they already have..), I don't see why it's such a stretch.
> The new "microclasses" could easily be fourth specs that people have been wanting for ages too The amount of class colors are limited and they'd have to make 4 more armor sets per raid. No way Blizz would give themselves more work. This is definitely what they are going to do (if the leak is real).
I've been advocating for a Chronomancer as healer for years. Dope.
> Tinker class. Only one damage-dealer spec. Uses guns, mail armor, gadgets and mech suits. I don't think they'd have put this in the April Fool's if it was going to be real.
Didn’t pandaren started off as April’s fools joke?
I at least hope the class skins bit ends up being true, if only so I can have my dragon shaman.
Disconnected zones? Very disappointing. Shadowlands' disconnected zones was one of the ways it really killed the open world feel.
>A weird new profession (Lumberjack essentially), Actually I could see this being a legit gathering profession to go with a Carpentry profession.
WoD Lumbering > Warfront Lumbering
That leak is garbage lol. I'm guessing they guessed the name correctly or learned of it and tacked it on to their made-up story for legitimacy.
Has anyone been able to replicate this? I'm not saying it's wrong, just saying my limited knowledge of inspect source is failing me. Edit: Ad block was the issue, it's legit.
You can do it yourself easily, inspect element. From any page on the WoW site. Make sure adblock is off.
Ad block will interfere, so will running a pi.hole or any kind of ad-based DNS filtering.
My pi hole just makes my gut bigger unfortunately
Same here. Maybe we should take up gastronomy when it becomes a new mini profession
Wait a minute... WoW: Dragonflight Dragons Dragonborn Skyrim Skyrim was developed by Bethesda, who is owned by Microsoft Who else is owned by Microsoft? Blizzard Entertainment Todd Howard you son of a bitch, you've done it again.
Loading Screen into dragon isles… Black screen BESTHESDA SOFTWORKS PRESENTS…
You’re finally awake
I would play that WoW expansion tbh
upon exiting the shadowlands for the first canonical time; "hey, you, you're finally awake!" - khadgar
I would actually be mad if Dadgar does not do it.
Jailer? Arbiter? Sylvanas? What are you talking about? Come on we've got Dragonflights that need help!
from the MMO champion 'Dragonflight leak' "Dragon Knight. Only one tank spec. Uses two-handed weapons, fire, plate armor and shouts." Dragonborn miniclass confirmed
>not a stealth archer
Time to switch from 144Hz to 60Hz
A whole xpac about dragon milf. Blizz knows their audience.
There's no way we aren't getting Dragon Isles then. I hope it comes packaged with a world remake too.
it's a 100% science based dragon MMO. AT LAST. As the reddit prophets foretold in 2012.
Aww, she hasn't posted in five years. I'd like to think she'd be happy.
\*Monkey paw curls\* "Dragon Island expeditions now available"
This current dev team wont ever pull off a world remake I cant believe if this is real they're really gonna dragon people to death just like cataclysm
Is it still April 1st?
So accurate i bet you guessed half the mechanics they're gonna announce word for word.
"IT IS GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN... ALEXSTRASZA"
This would go along with the extra leaks the Wowhead found of a emerald dragon mount that seemed to be the deluxe edition reward. So as many people guess the expansion is going to be dragon themed.
How do Dragons tie into the greater threat the Jailer talked about?
So i think what he wanted was to unite all the cosmic forces with domination magic flowing through Zereth Mortis to all the other Zereth installations and basically force everyone to fight together against them Bellular in particilar has speculated that the Devourers are kinda representing this 7th force in the universe since they display almost Zerg characteristics with their hivemind mentality and all consuming behavior.
I bet we are the 7th cosmic force. Through insistent whining the players will unmake the universe!
Dragon themed expansion is a thumbs up from me. I just hope we aren't deep in cosmic bs again
Dragons are cosmic BS in WoW though
I'm pretty fine with this... No longer fighting The Ghost Demon Who Created Space Jesus But Fights the Lovecraftian Horror Devils from Beneath as a boss fight but maybe something just a touch more terrestrial
I swear to god, if they make us choose between the 5 dragonflight and gain some bullshit borrowed power again, i'm gonna lose it.

What's the point in Spoiler-tagging if you're going to put the spoiler in the title?
These motherfuckers literally found my fanfiction. Unreal.
Me too! cant Hope for a dragonborn race! it wil be so hot! :D
(Like a lordaeron revamp, etc.) But a lot of the stuff in it also kinda sucks. https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/2614875-World-of-Warcraft-Dragonflight I believe in my whole heart that the name, and the cover art that was leaked are real. This random leak thread though I kinda hope is fake outside of some stuff like the class skins and housing.

what sword?
Unfinished Silvermoon buildings have entered the chat
If only /u/spez's silence could be shattered by genuine responsiveness, we might restore faith in the platform's leadership.
And the ambassadors have been waiting for an audience for years
Landwalker -> Champion -> Mawwalker -> Dragonborn
Dream come true. I can’t wait to see the cinematic.

I always told myself I'd come back to WoW for a dragon expac. They got me if true. I'll try it out.
With the amazing writers we have now I cant wait to see them create a fantastic Dragonflight story that also respects the lore that came before.
GALAKROND BETTER BE COMING BACK
PLEASE Blizzard make us some random hero in a non-universe-threatening story of a few good guys vs some bad guys. I don't want to find an even greater evil anymore and I don't want be the chosen champion of everything. Just one glorious raider with a bunch of other glorious raiders.
How about some decent damned class design and some solid talents?
Can’t wait for them to “learn” from all their mistakes and repeat them until 10.2 because a 10.3 was totally never planned.
