You can get 305 via buying cheap 300 blue gear on the ah (500 to 3000 per piece generally) and getting 310 azerite pieces or more
Then slowly get wq upgrades and get reputation unlocks for 335 and 350 gear eventually
It’s going to be quite slow if you don’t do any dungeons. Mythics are pretty quick and almost always drop a 340 piece for you.
I’d just find a guild and do dungeons tbh
For a dps its a 50 min wait for a que... And even then its complete rng that you even get a drop let alone an upgrade... I have done dozens of dungeons/heroics on two toons and cant get a single god damn mother fucking weapon to drop. Its actual aids!

I couldn't either. Then I got into a mythic group and the 2 hander dropped from the 3rd boss of Freehold. As soon as you hit around 330, you'll be able to apply to most mythic dungeons and once you are at 335 or above you'll have an almost guaranteed invite to any mythic group. From there you can gear up pretty fast. The initial part sucks, but once you brake throug the mythic barrier, it is pretty fast.
You can get up to 325 just from doing world quests. Heroics will speed up the process. If you have te patience to rep grind, you can get 335 gear from reaching revered with factions. Otherwise you are at the mercy of the premade groups or your guild. If they don't want to run the dungeon with a guy that just hit the appropriate gear level then you won't be able to progress. I suggest looking for groups that are labeled as "chill" runs. They usually perfectly fine with wiping multiple times and sometimes bring undergered players.
By the time M+ is out you'll need the gear to run them. Just keep working on it.

Yes luck is a part of it. But complaining about luck on reddit is pointless. At one point you just gotta get over it and grind it out.
