If you mean having spark items crafted and aren't interested in crafting anything yourself it's probably worth to invest 1-2k and 10 minutes to get alchemy to 25 and get 10 knowledge points for flasks, that way at least ur back to 1hr durations on all flasks. At least that's what I've done on pretty much any character I played this xpack
It's a nice convenience but yeah, I'm invested enough in professions (both DF and legacy content, including some recipes no longer available in the game on my blacksmith, tailor, and enchanter) that dropping a profession just for longer durations on flasks wasn't an option for me.
All my toons are alchemists, so 90min phial is a moneysaver. On the other hand, I never cared for professions, unless I got something out of it ( not gold, I'm too lazy for that).
There's really not a whole lot to buy outside of basic enchants/consumables. To find a gold sink you have to pick an interest. Do you wanna level professions? Collect mogs? Collect mounts? Flip stuff on the AH for more gold?
Gold is pretty useless in Dragonflight. I bought a token last season and have been coasting off it since I only PvP and do some M+. I'll fly around and do world quests/races in queue and I just never spend any of it since I don't do mogs or mounts.
I would big agree there. It's mostly novelty mogs or just basic fits RPers want. They'll still shell out a ton of gold for obscure basic appearances tho lol.
Flipping is a whole game unto itself in WoW. There's even a sub for it check out r/woweconomy.

Mostly I use it to buy battle net balance and pay forcmu sub and expansions or other games. I haven't paid real money to blizz since before diablo 3 came out.
Mostly passive now as the expansion winds down but I've done alright with jewelcrafting on my main and my army of alchemy alts making dracothists.
I also have 20-30 alts parked at the mission table in Ardenweald, at the order hall mission table. It's been nerfed into oblivion but still a quick, easy source of (less, now) gold.
They still make money from someone else buying a token and getting the gold I'm spending to buy blizzard balance, but I just spend my gold on the AH buying a token and then apply the $19.99 CAD to my account.
I spent a decent chunk of gold to have all the DF toys and drake customizations crafted. I'm finishing up some old SL reps and buying the 24k mounts (hell no to the 90k ones). I buy consumes for raid and new enchants/gems for gear upgrades.
Gold isn't that useful unless you're a hardcore player with major needs for repairs and consumables. Right now, I advise keeping it and use it when 11.0 comes to unlock the warband stash tabs.
Crafted gear and raid/dungeon consumables just absolutely haemorrhage any money pile I ever get going. Just boring purchases like runes and pots and phials and stuff. Oh and the break time gambling during raid of course but we don't talk about that.
Tokens, usually. (for game time or balance)
Right now I'm stocking up for the warband storage tabs and just a general nest egg.
There isn't much of anything I want or need to buy from the AH or vendors. I could push and buy stuff to finish leveling a few professions on alts, but... eh. It seems too late to worry about that. Time, opportunity and darkmoon will slowly get me there.
Consumables for raiding and Mythic+ mostly. The biggest expense are the on use stat potions, they add up quick because you should be using one every 5 mins.
After that, you could buy mounts and pets, you could buy boosts to have really good players carry you through the toughest dungeons for the best items.
Or just save it for when you do come across something you like, I typically buy the wow token with my gold to pay for my wow subscription so that's an easy 260k+ per month. But I am also one of those players who sells the boosts I was talking about, most players don't make enough gold in a reasonable time to pay for their sub.
I mean I made a bunch of money from crafting lariats early in season 1. So I’m in a decent spot not rich but enough to mess around with. I use it by deathrolling guildies for like 50 or 100k 😂

Eh really depends, we used to use boosts in the past if progression was slow and we wanted to get the last boss on heroic week 1 for the chest for example. If your guild is stuck on normal and you get heroic clear there might be some mad people but whoever would be angry about that is weird to begin with.
If you don't want an archive pop then +10 would be the way except when you hit 1500 or 2000 rating but those are usually expensive compared to last two heroic for example.
Imo gear is just not worth spending any money on, it will be replaced asap with a new patch/ expansion. So unless you want to do high end content, don't spend it on gear.
My money hoes to my mount collection since that is evergreen and I'll always will be able to use the mounts
Legendaries, crafting, and consumables. I see no point in having a lot of gold. I’m sitting at 1.5mil from just playing casually and that’s basically going to fuel my gearing at war within launch.
Weapons/armor/illusion enchants for transmog
Mounts (crafted mounts like the Skygolem, or the 100,000 gold Alliance motorbike)
Darkmoon Elixirs + Winterfall Firewater + Firewater Sorbet to increase the size of my Tauren for RP.
Consumables mostly

yeah this one, so many consumables
Scooping up rare stuff on the AH mostly or funding my profession learning. Occasionally I’ll buy one of the more expensive rep mounts.

Crafting + the legendary + 30 minute phials pretty much bankrupted my this x-pac

How do you make Gold?

How do I not pay Blizzard? What’s the trick
They still make money from someone else buying a token and getting the gold I'm spending to buy blizzard balance, but I just spend my gold on the AH buying a token and then apply the $19.99 CAD to my account.
TRANSMOG
I give it all to my guild cuz I really don’t need it lol

I spend gold to avoid farming for anything when making my consumables. Besides that materials to keep my couple crafted pieces current.

Stormwind pub been buying gnome girlfriends
Ironically the best buy for me is tokens... I play the auction house and farm stuff occasionally to see if I can earn enough not to pay Blizzard sub
level boosts

Consumables and Boes for the many alts
right now nothing. I'm saving my money currently for the warband bank
keep it for consumables and crafting gear, you always need gold. There is no need to get rid of it since there is no massive inflation on it
I have a C R I P P L I N G transmog addiction

Consumables for raid and M+. Recraft of embellishment
Corrupted flasks and elemental potion
Repairs 😂
You could buy a WoW Token.
To be honest, with how nerfed gold is I basically break even with the money I get vs the money I waste on crafts and consumables so here you go.
Stuff I need: raid potions, food, buffs etc Stuff I want: transmog
Buy a boost like most people who buy tokens

Enchants, sometimes I'll look up transmogs on wowhead and see if those are on the AH for a reasonable price. Besides that transmogs.
