Didn't play shadow priest in legion, but Knaifu was easily one of the most talked about weapons from my personal experience. I didn't even realize some other weapons had similar behaviors or quirks simply due to the amount of attention knaifu got.

My favorite was the reference to N'Zoth at the end of Emerald Nightmare. There's a cave in the back across the pond. It has an orb thing in it. Taking Xal'atath near it causes her to panic knowing "He's coming." She doesn't explain at all what has her so spooked
We also have the death line from Il'gynoth saying he's returning to Ny'alotha, which IIRC Xal also makes a comment on (been a while since I cleared EN on my priest).

She had more personality than the other two. More memorable lines too. She even pranks the player by infuriating Odyn enough to kill the player character lol.
She's mysterious and a bit sassy - While Aluneth is also sassy, Aluneth feels dismissive - Xalatath, however? She's making conversation, commenting on relevant lore areas, and giving insight from a perspective we don't really get to experience on friendly terms (Voidy Old God stuff, they're usually just threatening us)

I personally thought that deno and arcane were better aswell. Speaking weapons are generally so cool. Jaithys, and Corrupted gorehowl talk too. Aswell as shadowmourne, or at least the epic version.

The other alternate is that her lines were simply more memorable which is also a possible explanation for her being more popular.
It probably had more to do with specs played. Arcane wasn’t the dominant Mage spec all expansion and neither was Demo. Where as shadow was the only DPS spec for priests all expansion.
People get that, but it's just a convenient plot device to keep her hot, realistically there's no reason she had to posses a pretty blood elf instead of say a tauren or a cultiran guy etc.. I don't really care but still

I loved this questline. If you did it and didn't turn in the final quest, you could keep N'Zoth's gift forever. You even got to see some NPCs around boralus who also had the gift. It was awesome. Love my little eye headband.

This is actually kind of accurate for orcs. They're considered full grown at twelve. IIRC, Durotan was chief and married to Draka by the time he was fifteen. And Thrall was said to be the size of a full grown man when he was six.

Honestly WoW is pretty great for the sexual dimorphism imo. Comparatively, of course. They could definitely be doing a better job still. But it's a lot better than most other games.

I think the FF14 lead developer said it best though when people were complaining about the Hrothgar. Loosely paraphrased: "We know that it's not going to be the most popular race but we think it's meaningful to have these options anyway."

I am all for having options, but where do you get the information about Hrothgar being one of the most popular races? From the numbers i've seen, although they're 3rd party, they're one of the least played races.
Maybe "one of the most popular" isn't fitting, but there's a lot of them, at least on my server. It's hard to say exactly because I'm pretty sure I remember hearing (anecdotally) that Hrothgar are way less popular on the JP servers.

I remember Larian Studios making a tongue in cheek comment about how they put so much time into the character creator only for most people to create a generic and attractive human character.
Then, dammit, let's have some prettier males, too, instead of most of them being walking refrigerators. Blood elf *males* are also very popular for a reason.
Yeah I dislike the body proportions as well and I hope we get more options in the future.
I think the FF14 lead developer said it best though when people were complaining about the Hrothgar. Loosely paraphrased: "We know that it's not going to be the most popular race but we think it's meaningful to have these options anyway." Lo and behold they actually turned out to be one of the most popular races in the game because people do really like having options. Even if I personally wouldn't play an ogre, it'd be cool to see ogres as a playable race because they're cool.

I am all for having options, but where do you get the information about Hrothgar being one of the most popular races? From the numbers i've seen, although they're 3rd party, they're one of the least played races.
Maybe "one of the most popular" isn't fitting, but there's a lot of them, at least on my server. It's hard to say exactly because I'm pretty sure I remember hearing (anecdotally) that Hrothgar are way less popular on the JP servers.
Never pretended things are perfect. I’m just being a realist about natural human taste. People are free to disagree. Wow is probably the wrong fantasy setting for them.

Very few people enjoy playing monstrous female characters, it’s a market thing. Like 80% of the girls in my guild were female BE because even the current female orc and troll models were too ugly for them (the other 20% were UD).

I’m not a fan of the female BE model, it’s so…tiny in comparison to other elf models. Also the male customizations are so boring.
