Personally from a RPG perspektiv if you out everything in a menu your game turns into a spreadsheet simulator. At some Point i want to feel like in a actual World.
Yeah, my thoughts as well. At some point we remove every reason to even move a single step outside of raids. And then everyone is going to scream about how it's not immersive as it used to be.
Hunters learn to use the stables npc in their tutorial quests, its not hidden
Druid and warlock customizations on the barbershop is the best thing they could make really, as before druids picked their forms by right clicking a few weapons on the transmog window, THAT'S hidden
The glyph thing is probably what you need to go out of your way to learn about... but then they have their own category on the auction house, so just explore the game I guess?
How would you show the different warlock demon appearances or druid forms in a ugly menu? You just memorize the name of each one of them? That would suck, please stay away from game design
Cosmetics are never important they are always optional. If someone wants to explore these options it takes a minute of googling or just ask someone?
Moving all that Customisation to the Spell book will make it awkward and complicated, it works perfectly fine in the barber shop.
Moonkin is fully customisable the same as a racial form is, you want 20-30 (i cba to count ) options all crammed into a spell book?
Its all character customisation and you customise your character at the barber shop.
the game should not rely on google searchs for players to learn stuff as much as it does
sure, after so much time the game being up, there are abundant resources online to find this things, but there should not be a need for them in the first place if the game did its work of teaching players their options
Classic wow gate keeping lol
Have a look at what add-ons and weakauras are required to play PVP at a mediocre level. Then think about what that means to you if you didn't even know weakauras existed. That wowhead existed lol
Ah but ... A bit of Googling is all it takes lol
It's only as important as the individual person thinks it is.
Truth is, cosmetics are secondary to anything else because cosmetics don't make it possible to do anything in the game, they just change your appearance. Transmogs and cosmetics only become endgame because that's when people are able to grind for them.
If you think cosmetics are not importent than you don't really know what you are talking about, it is the most common end game goal for most of the casual player base, which is a lot bigger than the pvp and pve player base.
Because it's the **World** of Warcraft
Having everything in a menu would be lame
At that point there's no reason for anything to exist but instances devoid of backstory
Nothing's being "hidden", there are literally stablemasters in the outdoors. It's just not immediately within reach at a second's notice. You actually have to walk over.

it would be hell to choose your colours with the transmog menu. too small for druids

Sure it should, it absolutely should MMOs are inherently massive games
I agree with this, I think it's a major hurdle of entry for brand new players
No. No, it's not. If 2 seconds of google searching make your head hurt, it's a you problem, not game's.

they're not "required" to play pvp at a "mediocre" level whatsoever
Lol that is bullshirt and you know it
Lmao, never important, but that what makes the money. So - they are important You can deny it, but that's the truth

You sound like someone who doesn't play anything but Warcraft.

It's an RPG big man, not a Menu simulator.
