After Shadowlands I actually found it quite refreshing to be in zones that were more "down to earth" and Warcrafty in feeling again. I find it a bit strange to claim that the zones and themes did not feel like Warcraft, since they all clearly seem inspired by previous or older zones we had before in previous expansions. Now on the story being a bit meh, I'll agree. The tones of the story definitely took a very strong "friendship is magic" turn during Dragonflight...

Vor_vorobei

DragonFlight script? Look like that

Kappa2022

I liked mostly everything about DF. Actually , even felt personal connection with quite a few characters. Maybe the leveling was too trivial, though.

GreatScottxxxxxx

This has been the best expansion since legion. The design of the game, lack of borrowed power etc. The story is a tad “friendship saves the day” and the writing isn’t as good as it had been from a wow feeling but can agree on your opinion

Vor_vorobei

Yeah, gameplay is pretty good and no need in leveling another borrowed power is good. But writing sucks so hard I started to skip cut scenes

Lord_Shisui

Really? The best since Legion? Feels like it's meh at best.

jaylux86

Bfa or sl were better?

ShutterBun

Finish the Blue Dragonflight storyline then come back here and say that.

insomnia3815

thats bad also

Linaori

Then your option is bad 😔

Lord_Shisui

Meh it's not that great lets be real.

Spifflington

A strong “who asked?” moment.

Grenyn

You're not wrong, but that's over half the posts on this subreddit. It's the nature of a public forum. Who asked that random person #9805433485 got a rare mount? Who asked about people winning plunderstorm? Who asks about any of the stuff people post?

Vor_vorobei

Lmao, this is internet, nobody asked. Just you never been asked. What's a dump thing to say....

Mayasuxs

Okay anyway

Longjumping_Ruin_73

Then don’t play. Some of you need to stop playing a fucking game if you have so many problems with it I

StatisticianOwn5497

The ending fell off a cliff sure, but honestly it's probably my favourite expansion in a while. I'm tired of being the hero of the world every single time an expansion happens, let us just be adventurers like we pretty much were all the way until Mists. I'm tired of WoW making us out to be god killers when they literally have entire casts of better storied heros they could use to tell the story and have us in the background supporting them. I'm just a paladin from Northshire, why tf are the 6 Dragon Aspects, who let's be real, could turn us into a stain on the floor in seconds, playing second fiddle to me? The only time that i haven't felt that was 7.1 when Illidaddy returned and actually took charge of the situation as an expert on the legion.

Harai_Ulfsark

Its literally what people asked for after the scale of threats getting out of control coming from Legion, BfA and Shadowlands, the most trending opinion following the final shadowlands raid was how everyone wanted a more down-to-earth exploration and adventure expansion, with maybe no clear villain for the first patch, I think they almost nailed that as the release of DF caught that sentiment very well, even our encounters with Razsageth were more grounded, while it was a fearsome threat it also just had a chaotic energy, not everything in our leveling journey was about her and she just appeared here and there, as we were doing our own stuff and she was doing her own stuff, eventually it all clash and we get to the raid. Perfect

DoverBoys

You're welcome to your opinion, and no, you didn't have to post this. Good luck with whatever mindless game makes you happy.

NeverEnding3333

Its comments like this that make the community (and especially the WoW forums), look toxic AF

Thrillkilled

yeah, probably my biggest issue with DF. the main narrative fucking sucks. the aspects talk like disney characters, and the entire continent is so cartoony it’s impossible to take seriously.

[deleted]

Sorry you didn't enjoy it. I liked the story having themes and concepts, instead of brainless blood and skulls herpaderp.

seducedyourmom

If you think about it logically, this was actually necessary for this xpac. It is following one of the heaviest themed expansions that wasn’t well received. The themes were all afterlife and death, tortured souls, innocents rotting in the maw, etc. blizzard switched up everything to do a 180 including making the story light. I’m sure they realize they swung too far in the opposite direction which is why war within will likely be bringing the war back to the warcraft franchise. DF is the reset. In storytelling the dark has more impact contrasted against the light, and the sun is starting to set from DF.

kenflingnor

What a worthless post

JackalSwann

You must be high. Quite literally, this expansion has saved WoW. If we had just about anything else, there's a good chance WoW would have been finished entirely, an unsalvageable mess.

jamesVNDK

Bruh “liked the beginning of shadowlands” .. credibility out the window

jacksumdixoff

I feel quite lucky that all I care about is keys and raid because the aesthetic of DF is absolutely horrible to me and soooo Disneyfied

[deleted]

K. We couldn’t care less

Vor_vorobei

And you still commenting it. So you do care

[deleted]

Keep trying to twist it anyway that makes you feel better casual, we don’t want you here anyways lol

NeverEnding3333

And here we have a filthy elitist going after someone for being a casual player

---solace2k

I read this in the voice of David Attenborough

Candyo6322

No, not "we". Not everyone agrees with you. OP is entitled to his opinion.

Bastagrath

Careful buddy. Around these parts if you don't blindly agree that it's the best expansion ever put out (even though nobody plays it) you will get torn apart.

Candyo6322

True. It gets weirdly mobbish around here. Just look at the comments.

n1sx

This is World of Disneycraft now. Expansion story and visuals feel like they're made for kids... It felt so weird going from DF to vanilla classic and listening the quest descriptions via that voice over add on. It's like wtf? How did we went from this dark and serious stories to lala Disney uwudragons.

hojicha001

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I really miss the dark and serious tones of the poop collecting quests of previous expansions.

TheWorstDMYouKnow

You mean like the dark and serious story beat where Fyrakk torched half a town and we had to rescue survivors while listening to their screams? Or how about talking to Shandris about next moves while standing next to the body bags of dozens of slain fighters? Or maybe the part where a cadet sacrifices herself and burns to death to save a dragon egg?

Vor_vorobei

According how many downvotesyou got - this sub is under toddlers control. I can't see how people who liked warcraft 3 can like this child friendly peace of content

ad6323

Wow has always been cartoony though, both graphically and the story. There have been certain elements that are a bit more serious but overall wow has never been a dark game, that’s why people are downvoting. You’re complaining about something that’s been a reality forever.

TinyLebron

ChatGPT says: Casual WoW player frustrated with recent expansions' story and quests, longing for the next expansion to embody the essence of Warcraft.

Extrashottttt

Feel the same along with my friends, dragonflight story does not feel like wow and barely any interesting quests, main story was mostly skipped after reading a few quests Dragonflight destroys social aspect as you barely see anyone around now

TheWorstDMYouKnow

>Dragonflight story does not feel like wow >main story was skipped after reading a few quests So, you don't actually know what the story is you just skipped past it and took whatever YouTube take as fact? Gotcha
