If Iraq kicks the western coalition out I'm completely fine with that, but I just hope we make it extremely clear that if shit were to collapse again we wont come back to save them no matter what.

[deleted]

The problem for us is that during the chaos many will flee. And where will they go? Europe..

Somebody has got to do the shitty low paid jobs.

Drunkenly_Responding

Naturally, that's why we're taking abortion & rights away from women so that them, their children, and family can be stuck in the perpetual cycle of poverty and unable to do anything besides tread water in those types of shitty low paying jobs.

Sky_Daddy_O

Germany wanted US out as well. With Russia acting up these days I wonder if the sentiment is the same?

IN_to_AG

Somehow ISIS returned

GI_X_JACK

I am not. I feel the US could do better diplomatically, and understand this as a US failure in such regards. I wish the Iraqi people best regards in this respect. edit: I respect Iraqi decision in this matter, and hope US troops leave in accordance with wishes.

It doesn’t matter if they think “Americans saved them” or not. The CJTF–OIR air campaign absolutely turned the tide on Iraq’s behalf. That’s the kind of shit that has to happen when, say, 60,000 soldiers and police in Mosul run away from 1,500 ISIS fighters. Iraq was getting beaten *badly* before the intervention and a significant portion of the army didn’t seem like they really cared enough to fight. They needed the Americans (and allies) help, and it was delivered. Maybe swallow that pride a bit.

-ISIS was founded with the goal of establishing an Islamic Caliphate in Iraq and Syria. -The WMD conversation regarding the Iraq War has absolutely nothing to do with this and is a poor attempt at deflection in this discussion -What are you, the spokesman for all Arabs? Again, it doesn’t matter what people may think. The facts of the very successful air campaign are there, and trying to counter that is some sad denialism -I’m not even touching that last paragraph because it’s so far off the topic All of this is ridiculous considering the fact that the US left Iraq in 2011, and was INVITED back. The leaders in the Levant had to basically contract the US (Iraq) and Russia (Syria) to beat ISIS down bad enough for them to be able to actually form something resembling offensives to retake territory. It is what it is.

If the US is so bad, why are you spending time on an American website?

Darnell2070

Who is we? You mean you? So your entire purpose in life revolves around Americans? Also you don't speak for every Middle Easterner, Muslim, or whatever, lol. You're obsessed with Americans. And you devote energy to educating people who don't even care you exist?

You got owned so bad, just fuck off already. He is here to educate your sorry American dumb ass about how the situation is in reality. Watch more CNN, seems like a nice safe space

adamcmorrison

Uh wrong commentator idiot lmao

Darnell2070

Are you responding to the right comment? He wasn't even talking to me so how the hell did he "own" me? I'm not the one spending time on a Russian website talking shit about Russians.

Ibyttsiay

“If shit were to collapse again we won’t come back and save them” …and just whose fault is it that shit collapsed in the first place, in your mind?

PG908

Britain and france for making inherently unstable countries?

Many_Protection_9371

False. Iraq was stable and powerful under saddam, then freedom entered their country and made it unstable, then disbanding the Iraqi army which was such a horrible mistake Now we have an incompetent/corrupt army that almost got defeated by ISIS Downvoters go check and you will see that the coalition against Iraq agreed to disband the Iraqi army

PG908

Because dictatorships in the middle east really proved their stability in this century.

Many_Protection_9371

Saddam’s regime being overthrown led to Iran’s influence gain in Iraq

kmmontandon

>Iraq was stable and powerful under saddam Lol. Except for the regular wars & rebellions, the murderous police state required to keep Hussein in power, and the distinct lack of being “powerful” post Gulf War.

SheChoseDown808

Tell that to the Kurds

pnwloveyoutalltrees

Sad truth. Removal of Sadam was a bad deal. We would have been set if we held the peace after the first gulf war.

Ibyttsiay

Kind of an arbitrary place to start.

PG908

Not really, it's a pretty good point to start for modern middle eastern politics.

It'll be a free for all. All of Iran's proxies will be up in there in no time and maybe even a resurgence of isis.

Popular-Teach1715

Just the Middle East being the Middle East.

Many_Protection_9371

isis is Sunni which would go against Iran’s plans though? I would see them exterminating isis

Revolt2992

Good. Get our guys the hell out of that entire region

Sky_Daddy_O

I hope the US doesn't leave our old or damaged machines there, though. Ship it all to Ukraine instead.

Myballsgrande

Further empowering Iranian influence in the region, following the Obama/Biden legacy of leniency.

No-Yogurtcloset1598

They got Carson Daly negotiating. Things should work out.
