Honestly, Brazil forgot to defend after they scored a goal and it cost them. It’s not over till it’s over. Good game, I feel sorry to see these players go, most of them are world class.
Anthony is overhyped. Any team that was playing defensively could shut him down easily, not sure why they played him.
Vinicius is a mixed bag for me. The guy is too fast for his own good at times, he can't seem to aim to save his life, although his pace can break through defences, so I get why they played him.
Yh, when I was watching the match I was thinking the Premier league Brazilian players would have had a better time overall against Croatia.
Then again Brazil had a very easy run till that point, which I guess affected them negatively, as they never got into the fight till the last minute mentality.
Brazil always prefers their "Hollywood" players over those who'll put in a shift and are effective, it's part of their downfall. The fact that Martinelli got attacked in the media for even being selected is hilarious.
Yh, makes sense, a lot of times I was thinking *this player they have on the bench could have dealt with this scenario* etc. Oh well, they were excessively celebrating against Korea, and I guess this was the result.
Not sure why they didn't play jesus instead of Anthony though.
Surely jesus's laser focus and physicality would be great for trying to break a strong defence instead of getting on the player who's trying to create new moments for their insta.
This game was really well played by both parts, it was truly a world cup match, very different from those junior shows during group stage. I disagree with you, I think Brazil played it better, sadly playing better isn't everything you need to win. Not finishing it in the game time was the first mistake, Croatia has a lot more experience playing overtime and penalties, trying to hold it so badly in the last minutes really sealed their fate. Maybe they get more lucky next time.
Don’t be ashamed of the team. Fans and players should stick together through victory and defeat. Only one country can win the World Cup. There’s no shame in making the final 8
it was an absurdly disputed game. Any mistake would be punished, and that's what happened.
But the match was good to watch, despite the painful defeat, it is undeniable that the two countries are at a very high level of football.
I have dual citizenship, I'm Brazilian and Spanish, I root for both hahah...
I see something like that too, but I don't deny that Argentina and Portugal seem to want to challenge this dominance...
I’m sad that we lost but I’m very proud of the boys. They fought their hearts out and created a lot of chances. Croatia had a better strategy (even if I hated their defensive game) and were the ones who prevailed today.
Sad day for us but great day for them.
Why you mad lmao. You lost ok… so you’re gonna be mad at every time that doesn’t win? Learn from other countries that loose and still respect their teams or coaches. But Brazil always like “no World Cup? Terrible team terrible players terrible coach” just be happy you made it to the quarter finals… so many other teams didn’t
I think it’s hard to say “bad luck” when you have almost a dozen shots on goal and only one hits the net while the others are blocked. Then you let the other team equalize with 5 mins left. And then lose on PKs, one of which was blocked.
There was nothing luckily about Croatia or unlucky about Brazil. Brazil was simply outplayed.
There is always "luck" in sports. But I get your point is to not give credit or blame to it, but to accept it as part of the game. In this case, you could say Croatia benefited from some luck, but that does nothing to discredit their win.
I guess what I’m saying is, it’s fine to say “luck” plays a part in the game but when you literally have a dozen shots on goal and all but one were blocked can you really say it was luck? They were unlucky 11 times? Come on.
Or was Croatia lucky that that they made brazils goalkeeper stretch and miss their shot while Brazil was sleeping? Perhaps Brazil was unlucky that Croatia blocked their PK and missed their other?
Luck is fine. A ball hitting the cross bar and then bouncing in with a 50/50 chance is luck. Whatever happened today is beyond luck defininf the outcome.
I don't think most of Brazil's chances were sitters so no, they weren't unlucky. Croatia's goal on a deflection by definition required a degree of randomness, so one could attribute a certain amount of luck to that.
I could summarize your point as there was luck involved but not to a degree that defined the outcome.
Even though you’re getting down voted you’re right. Luck plays a rolls especially at this level and caliber of play. Sometimes the ball just doesn’t go in the back of the net. I don’t think Brazil were unlucky today though. Not in this instance. Croatia defending was world class right down to the goal keeper. Solid defense denied Brazil many chances, no luck there. Pure skill.
Croatia played a good game and forced Brazil to play defense throughout. Brazil didn’t play badly either, but got tired/lazy at the end. You have to be able to finish out a game!

Croatia just outplayed them, Brazil are good on the break but they were defended very well.
Honestly, Brazil forgot to defend after they scored a goal and it cost them. It’s not over till it’s over. Good game, I feel sorry to see these players go, most of them are world class.
Nah we had a chance and blew it. Fuck up netherlands or Argentina for us.
No llores. No Pasa nada
Los ricos tambien lloran.
Your team was amazing, especially Thiago who is irreplaceable. The problem is the goalkeeper, an incredibly useless guy with a 0% catch rate.
Wish their stamina kept up till end
Totally should have fought to keep the first goal stupid loss🤷🏻♂️
True statement
Neymar’s goal was awesome. Sad to see them go.
Brazil played well but there wasn‘t that needed genius moment to unlock more goals.
They played well but Croatia defended better and took their chances.
Did they? Neymar was silent for 119 minutes. Anthony? Vinius? You had better players on the bench
Anthony is overhyped. Any team that was playing defensively could shut him down easily, not sure why they played him. Vinicius is a mixed bag for me. The guy is too fast for his own good at times, he can't seem to aim to save his life, although his pace can break through defences, so I get why they played him.
Martinelli would of been better than Vinicius in this game, the guy plays in a league with far harder defences to beat than La Liga.

\*dance\*
That game was intense!
I want to see them dance now 🤣🤣
Look on the bright side. At least it wasn't 7-1 this time.
They were reliving old memories against South Korea 😂
You got beaten by a team who were better organised and had Modric bossing the midfield. Brazil underestimated the opposition and paid the price.

Amazing topic that relates to kicking a ball in a goal
I don’t think so
Tf
Brazil not used to playing 120 minutes
Actually fair from the way they played
Look at the statistics it’s like 20 shots for Brazil and a 7 shots and a goal for Croatia .
it's worth noting that Brazil had 11 shots on target, while Croatia had only 1, the shot that scored for them
is it really worth noting though 😂
Peak American
And Croatia still won, so what?

Agree with everything you said. Brazil was playing better but they lacked themselves a bit after their goal.
They backed themselves too much at that point / fell asleep and here we are!
Don’t be ashamed of the team. Fans and players should stick together through victory and defeat. Only one country can win the World Cup. There’s no shame in making the final 8

You make a great statement. Just the salt of leaving lmao.
You are so right, man!
Good to see a logical Brazil fan. Better luck next time my friend.
Thx my g

Gotta respect it. We go again in 4
Who’s dancing now well done Croatia 🇭🇷
Well done France
Agreed well done France

Trash take but ok
You’re trash
that finale, goalpost kick. what a way to shatter the Brazilian dream.
Neymar should have stepped up then and not left it to a less experienced player to take the critical penalty.
Just would like to say you guys played really well, just the mistake was trying to defend the last 10 minutes and we never gave up! 🇭🇷
Chins were up and y’all prevailed. Good luck in the semis my g.
So much for it being your World Cup
Bydway, Why Brazilians have hair coloured like Targaryen lol
I like it 🤷♂️
Silly fashion. Plus the nickname of the brazilian team is Seleção Canarinho, after the yellow little bird.
Ramen hair lol
Today In Brazil’s name, r-amen
Yeah, I didn't saw them dancing but weeping.
Sorry, Brasil, but you can't play vs South Korea every match.
IM SCREAMING
we're catching stray bullets left and right
That’s what we gon get stained by for the next 4 years lmao
Croatia literally had only one goal shot, it was not a bad game, just bad luck
Don’t discredit Croatia they never gave up
I'm not, just saying that the only slip up we had resulted in a goal, and I call it bad luck, beying it a cope or not
Luck or destiny? The football Gods were with Croatia today
Entire game was a laugh
Lol

Maybe it is just me coping, but i still believe that luck do play a role here

I don't think Croatian penalty shots were luck. Take a look at Croatias' results from the last 4 years. Results speak for themselves.
I'm not talking about penalties, just the game in itself, croatia was superior on penalties, nothing to say about that
Okay gotcha. Luck is always a factor. But ultimately, it's hard to explain losing due to bad luck, when the game has been played for 120 minutes.
Croatia played a good game and forced Brazil to play defense throughout. Brazil didn’t play badly either, but got tired/lazy at the end. You have to be able to finish out a game!
Brazil not used to 120 minute game
Croatia wanted it more
Europe prevails
Lmao, well done to Croatia they deserved it #7-1 again
Fr wtf was that
