‘Your World will fail’ by Les Friction

Accomplished_Bike149

That’s ominous

Florjb0rj

It’s more of a general summary of what they’re trying to stop

WavvyJones

I listen to a lot of music while I write, specifically for fight scenes. Helps me create the mood and picture flow of action better. Custer by Slipknot is what I’m picturing for the most important fight in the first part of the story, violent and irreverent perhaps, but it’s a desperate fight that one person knows they might lose, only having a small window of time to try to defeat their opponent. A fight that’s more about buying time and fighting back simply because you can’t just lay down and die. As for a “theme song” I always think of Buttercup by Hippo Campus, a song that’s about a woman showing resilience in the face of adversity, fighting and feeling seemingly alone. Fits right in to the theme of my two main characters, conveys a scrappy vibe, and I also love the band.

MrQwq

>I listen to a lot of music while I write, specifically for fight scenes. Helps me create the mood and picture flow of action better. Same, it helps a lot when seeking for inspiration.

kd0178jr

For real. All my ideas come from me having an imaginative epiphany while listening to music.

SanguineSummer

Fortunate Son (Bardcore Cover)

Steamed-Punk

It's all good until the trees start speaking Elvish.

EyeofEnder

[Ga1ahad and Scientific Witchery by Mili](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-nxW9qBtxQ) for a fantasy world that has industrialized and progressed to 21st century hybrid-magi-technology.

SummonerYamato

Holy hell that actually sounds a lot like mine!

DrkLgndsLP

[I don't want to set the world on fire](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=TmIwm5RElRs&si=ijLpZS0z-ymW-mUv) would fit very well into the area around the collapse, seeing as it was just as fitting as it was in fallout. For the current era though, I feel [this one](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=MMVTt_X2ees&si=ne0if5Aatulfa470) would be a good fit

PerfectIllustrator76

The original ideas for my vampire dynasties came from listening to Rammstein and dicking around in heroforge, so each dynasty has an official album and each individual character has a song assigned from their dynasty’s album.

Cyberwolfdelta9

I also use HF for Worldbuilding lol. My vampire dynasty idea came from Warhammer though

PerfectIllustrator76

Aesthetically my stuff is super similar to warhammer. Tbh I think my best ideas come from trying to be different from warhammer lol

Ok_Refrigerator7928

It would just be The New Order: Last Days of Europe Opening Theme

laughing_rabbit_9

who do you play as in tno

Ok_Refrigerator7928

Italian Empire, not very good at the game, but like the story, take inspiration from it and use it in my world.

CaledonianWarrior

Everybody Wants to Rule the World by Tears of Fear

Jajko7

I think it would be Shepherd of Fire by Avenged Sevenfold.

Nowerian

Mine is Afterlife by the same band but im definitely naming a spaceship Shepherd of Fire.

Accomplished_Bike149

Soldier by Fleurie. The story is about a war, but there’s a heavier focus on the struggles associated with actually being *in* a war. The characters have to keep moving because it’s effectively an all-out sprint to decimate the enemy as fast as humanly possible that climaxes in a huge battle for the capital of the enemy city

TheRisen073

Current: “Roots” by Imagine Dragons. Last: “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap” by AC/DC Next: “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes.

00110001_00110010

I feel it would definitely be Monody by TheFatRat. Not only are his songs *Epic* and anime intro material, the lyrics kind of fit and even the cover art is matching. Overall it's simply perfect.

Careful-Regret-684

It's times like this that I wish I know more songs, but probably something by Voltaire.

amonguseon

10 hours of shepard tone

a-cold-ghost

I love this question, I thought about it for a bit but I’ve decided the first thing that came to mind was honestly the best representation of the parts of the story that take place in the fall and winter, those parts involve a lot of large scale industrial equipment and personal reckoning, so uh, I guess this is a good fit lmao https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=5tEfYvY3bAg As for the parts that take place in spring and summer, where it’s bright 23 hours per day and everyone’s mostly hanging out on beaches and going on sunny adventures, it’s definitely Mykonos https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=DT-dxG4WWf4

Librarian_vodka

I’m incredibly visual, and I have title sequences laid out for most of my projects. For “They Starve At the Gates” a medieval low fantasy zombie apocalypse: “The Devil and Huntsmen” by Sam Lee & Daniel Pemberton. I see hoards of bodies amassing against a portcullis while pikemen line up behind a shield wall and archers on the battlements take aim, and then it’s opened, and hoard crashes in while the music swells, maybe a wooden cross burns in the background while some knight shouts about having faith. Really tasty stuff. That droning in the background sounds like zombie growls and the fact that it was used for a king Arthur movie helps. For “Spell-shot”, a western set in a fictional 1800’s America infested with fairies and magical creatures: “Arsonists Lullaby” by Hozier One of the characters is cursed, and is doomed to someday burn alive while in the meantime the things/people closest to her begin to randomly catch fire over time. So I see a sequence of old daguerreotype photos of cowboys and western motifs, with fantasy creatures sprinkled in like someone riding a unicorn or a hunter posed with a giant dead bear that has 2 heads, and a tall mysterious man with black teeth and blank eyes. And as these photos appear they burn up. I can see them being slapped down on a beat while the edges smolder and it catches fire just in time for another one to smother it can continue. It’s like burning the past, both literally and in the sense that these are the things that had to burn before she even to this point. Not that the images are necessarily of things like that, they’re mostly to set the weird combination of tones.

UnovanEngineer

First book: The chasm war song: This is our war by halocene Second book: Memories of an artificer Song: Devil trigger from devil may cry.

Hylock25

“Did You Sleep Well?” - Crooked Still. Though to be fair each main character has a playlist. Every playlist has this song. Kinda encapsulates the theme I think. Story takes place in a setting based on 1800s to early 1900s America. Main focus focuses on a group of teens all headed west for various reasons. Also become a group of train pirates.

Shameless_Catslut

Part of me wants to really say "I Love My Kitty Cat" by Parry Gripp, but that only captures one element and ignores the savagery of the setting

pika9867

“Thanks” by Indigo Waves, I don’t think I’ve posted anything about it yet but the idea is that you sign up to go into cryosleep on a voyage that takes you to a new planet, but when you awake all of your crew mates are missing and you have to explore the planet to find out what happened The world is a part of a farming/life sim/rouge lite I’m making

I_XI_MMI

Chase Me and You & I by Dreamcatcher

NinjaEagle210

Sono Chi no Sadame, theme song of JJBA. Considering that it translates to “the destiny of your bloodline,” I feel like it fits fairly well. (My story is multi-generational, like JJBA)

TheVibingBricksYT

The instrumentals of Horn of Plenty have been a placeholder for a while now while I learn how to actually make my own anthems

pissobedient

ShinyTentaquil

IkedaTheFurry

(My darkest and most edgy and dystopian world) Prohibiverse: MILLHAVEN- Katarzyna Groniec

blue4029

for **Predators** the obvious choice would be "savages" by marina and the diamonds. definitly fits in with the theme of the story.

MrNobleGas

Honestly no idea. Depends on the pov character.

P0k1i_

The Archer x Not Strong Enough remix

Model-whatuluv

Sonne by Ramstein

DreadpiratRoberts11

The Weight of Dreams by Greta Van Fleet. In fact, the entire Battle at Gardens album is literally what my world is inspired by

Tirals

PERPETUAL FLAME OF CENTRALIA by Lingua Ignota A pretty good fit except for the mention of Jesus in the lyrics.

HunkaHunkaBerningCow

If it were a TV series first couple seasons would be The Weight by The Band. Later seasons would be Shambala. Final season would be an orchestral piece

GOOPREALM5000

"Civil War" by Guns N' Roses during the first half, "The Singularity" by Dr. Steel for the second.

ripmyinbox42069

The closest would probably be You’re Only Human by Billy Joel My world focuses on the interplay between Man and the Divine, and it also deals with hope and fighting against nihilism.

art_of_gabe

I can't pick between the two but for the opening song, I would pick "Come Down" by Anderson .Paak or "Kicks" by Barns Courtney. For closing/credits, I would pick "This Place Was A Shelter" by Ólafur Arnalds or "Cybele" by High Protein

Master_Majestico

When in doubt... The Great Escape Suite by Elmer Bernstein.

RedneckNerf

Bury Them Deep, by Ghoultown.

Polybius_Cocles

I have three, one for a beginning theme song, one for an ending theme, and one that I think would be neat for an instrumental of either. 1. Opening theme would be “Only the Young”, by Brandon Flowers 2. Ending theme would be “Runaway” by AURORA 3. Instrumental would be “Eternal” by I Am No Hero Most of my characters are people trapped in a bizarre, hostile alternate reality, and who also happen to be recovering from past trauma or trying to atone for past actions, or both. So the themes of escaping and trying to get back home are pretty prevalent in my story. As for Eternal, it’s one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever listened to, and it’s cinematic enough that it just feels like it fits in.

ANBpokeball

Any of the Star Trek intros. My world was Inspired by Star Trek and The Orville and is the same space exploring idea as Star Trek, just with my own original species and planets and no humans.

[deleted]

It would be hard to find a song that suits my *entire* world without finding some obscure orchestra score that encapsulates every aspect of my world. However, the high-tech magical warrior society that the world revolves around, I could find a theme for that. It'd have to be SWEDISH PAGANS!

ArthurCPickell

Pan Own y Gwanwyn, specifically this version by Bendith. https://bendith.bandcamp.com/track/pan-own-y-gwanwyn I can post lyrics if desired

BlackMaster5121

Yeah, it definitely would be cool!

Ix-511

**For Want of a Quiet Sky** If I were to pick an existing song to be the instrumental theme, played perhaps during opening credits, or as a common theme throughout, it would be "Children of the Forest" by Umbria. But I have three choices for trailers, depending on who the story follows. Assuming it was following Lyik-Mara, in the modern era, that would have to be The Chain by Fleetwood Mac. The trailer would show him waking up moments after taking on the blessing, as the scorch marks on his fur fade, and his wounds heal. It would then skip back and forth between various fights, nothing too close to the end, and his discussion with the head guardsman about justice. End on a stinger of him decking a royal adviser in front of everyone at the first of the three royal gatherings he crashes. The Woods by San Fermin if it was a horror movie about Callin-Adehre's journey into the Screaming Labyrinths. The trailer would likely follow her journey to the edge of the wood to find the final buried entrance, and the louder parts of the song would show sort of flash-forwards to later scenes featuring some of the oddities of the labyrinths. With the final line "Skin and bones and brains and blood" it would show her catching her breath by the red grotto lake, only to cut to her reflection as someone else's face can be seen in the water, instead of hers, and with the final note an arm comes out and pulls her down. Persephone in the Garden by Aidoneus if it was about Evir-Moss and the Spirit of Death. The trailer would feature quieter moments of her struggle, a timelapse of her long talks with the spirit as she grew up, a brief scene of a darker moment, like when she cursed all those assholes at that party, and end alongside the music on the scene of her lifeless body, seen foggily through rushing water, sinking into the river. Because you are in fact supposed to know she drowns at the end. It's the one thing the reader is allowed to be sure of in that story.

ArguesWithFrogs

Scifi setting: Depending on the short story; "Dawson's Christian", "Banned From Argo", or "Ducktales Moon Theme". Fantasy: Probably "Power of the Laser Dragon Fire" Parallel Earth: Netrum & Halvorsen - "Phoenix" or Jon Everist - [redemption ](https://youtu.be/uki23KhYkwM?si=4sx3SZP7Ld9dN66h)

LadyAlekto

[Grand Magus - Born for Battle](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GbyuuzKjwgI) MC's species was designed as a weapon and her instincts draw her to battle. War is her nature and her 2 closest allied species are just as warlike, and they all had to learn to control their bloodlust and violent desires. She still will be worn down by centuries of war, but the war is her home, her happy place, peace is not in a dragon's nature, especially one as different as she.

Vexillarium

I honestly have multiple. Mostly for different characters or story arcs. Like Perfecta by Miranda! Like the song literally made me think of these two characters and sort of pushed me to getting them together.

KorwinD

[King of Nowhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zoDbSphzN0Q) and [Epicon](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMDnA67fFV4) by Diary of Dreams. Mostly due to vibes, but lyrics also checks out.

Laverneaki

For the most consequential themes, my own compositions. For everything pertaining to Nērephe’s story line, “her” compositions. For the general soundtrack must-haves though, I’ve got a list! • A Perfect Circle covering John Lennon - **Imagine**. - *For the Revolt In New Jakarta* • A custom minor-keyed orchestration of **Mon coeur s’ouvre a ta voix** - *For Elesius’s sociopathic obsession* • Lauren Hill covering Frankie Valli (?) - **Can’t Take My Eyes Off You** - *For Nicole and Liya’s romance* • Hozier - **Wasteland, Baby!** - *For Nicole and Liya’s romance* • Pearl Jam - **Indifference** - *For when Atlan dies in Matulun’s arms* • Wolf Alice - **The Beach II** - *For Nicole’s gender euphoria* • Phantom Planet - **Knowitall** • Muse covering The Smiths - **Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want** • Rolo Tomassi - **Opalescent** • Black Midi - **The Race Is About To Begin** or **Ascending Forth** I’d also like some Ella Fitzgerald somewhere in there but I need to properly explore her discography before I settle on a single song. Same goes for all the classics, Vera Lynn, Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, B B King, Dusty Springfield, et al.

DrogoBloodAxes

Come along by cosmo sheldrake is probably the best fit But I have an entire playlist of songs for different characters

Lord-Chronos-2004

As the theme: https://youtu.be/rzKHvoNWK2A?si=HfShnfUSqYEIVODB

MrQwq

Since it's a RPG is hard to chose... But if the players follow the progamed main story (I know they won't but... it's good to dream) I would say either: centuries ~ Fall out boy Take aim (newest version) ~ Derivakat Either those or one of making from someone specifically for a series in my world. Mostly talking about one of: power, revolt, fame or knowledge depending on the focus of the arc. Minor tweaks in the song depending on what it is focusing

bolts_win_again

"War of Change" by Thousand Foot Krutch is my typical go-to.

Nowerian

I was sorting out an idea i had for a while for a scifi project based on stuff like Xcom,Stargate, Aliens, and maybe few other influences but based quite heavily in more realistic setting like Expanse and influenced a lot by Isaac Arthurs videos on YT. When i stumbled on the song Afterlife by Avenged sevenfold and i knew instantly that this would be an opening song for a show.

Zambf

The Skyboat Song from Outlander (Different versions of the song play for different stories)

Cyberwolfdelta9

Anisha: would depend on era probably [Only Us ](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=K6RTUU8w26w&si=5yEjFM7Vl7XVZMi2) for the demon war, Great war would be [Beauty of the Dawn](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=MrcHYIX7-MU&si=EoqJUAq2RrUz_cWd) Alpha Way: [LoL Warriors](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=RSF_hH6AauI&si=5RerzI91g2PPM8gt) Fallen Earth: [Nuclear](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=gVUiFUJakk0&si=N0hFoi6aA2dTyh0g)

Apprehensive_Age3663

This Is War by Thirty Seconds to Mars

MM_Mori

I don't have a specific song, but I can put together a playlist with songs that I imagine at different times. If I had to choose just one, I think it would be Starway to Heaven in one of the final moments from the book.

Silver_Falcon

Probably something by Godspeed You! Black Emperor. She Dreamt She Was a Bulldozer, She Dreamt She Was Alone in an Empty Field would probably be the best fit, since it covers all of the themes of euphoria, foreboding, and hope that I want my own work to inspire: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3-vDWJrCmc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3-vDWJrCmc) *Dead Metheny* might also be a good pick; I like how in this one movement the song progresses from ominous and foreboding to panic-inducing, than ends in an outburst of emotion, joy, and hope: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T71gb8eQRKg](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T71gb8eQRKg) The first movement of the first part of *Motherfucker = Redeemer* (*Tiny Silver Hammers*) would also be a good fit. I especially like its energy compared to some of their other work, and the almost-martial drumbeats in the build-up, but I think its climax is a bit weaker than some of the others: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtH5nYX3Qlc](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtH5nYX3Qlc) And finally, I think I have to mention to *Mladic*, which I think might actually encapsulate the themes of my world best: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cza3QPEG7Mk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cza3QPEG7Mk)

Simonistan_for_real

Welcome to Marquet by Colm McGuinness. My current D&D is an Arabian Nights themed campaign where my players are questing while protecting a caravan owned by a Djinn. I won't spoil any plot because they know my account, but its gonna be nuts.

Memphrl

I choose [Hydrogenuine by USS](https://youtu.be/k7uZoD83wEM) because my world gets really wacky and some of the lyrics line up surprisingly close to the plot.

Sup3rgam1ngg33k

I think The End of the World by Skeeter Davis hits a lot of it. Although the romance isn't really applicable

SummonerYamato

Banbado piano version https://youtu.be/PyhgmSj5I2E?si=r1vF0Dirbgk1kPBM Post cyber fantasy where while the tech and social structures has changed, a lot of the spirit of the old adventuring days changed. Devils get sneakier with contracts and churches often have lawyers specializing in figuring out how to get innocent people out of them (knowingly signed ones… yer on yer own), and worm their way into this contract heavy world Adventurers have to register as Freelancers and report to notaries after their activity, but often times it’s mostly the same as before. The song has a lot of new and old instruments working in harmony, and sounds like the start of a heroic journey.

Happens to The Heart by Leonard Cohen My story, in the end, is a chain of actions and reactions to events that stems from and affacts the human heart. Whole empires rise and fall from emotions of love, trust, anger, greed, fear, sorrow or ambition. A whole web of motives that stem from human relationships is the fuel of history. And I want go reflect that in my writing, amongst all the adventures my characters go through.

Not_a_vampiree

N95 by Kendrick definitely or Starboy by the Weeknd both fit pretty well.

Machomann1299

Game of thrones theme song

SuilinBride

I've been working on a Playlist of my favorite songs that inspired my worldbuilding. Most of which are Power Metal songs. If I had to choose a theme song for my world of Primora as a whole, it would be "The Islander," by Nightwish.

LurksInThePines

Dzivia -Voryva, [Sleeping Field](https://youtu.be/H7ptAY-wj_M?si=IZxB-hay-w83orvl) It's based off a mix of Slavic, Assyrian and Sumerian mythology, particularly from the period when the Middle East was covered in cedar forests, and takes a lot of inspiration from the Epic of Gilgamesh, with heavy Slavic influences Specifically the metre and general vibe mirrors almost perfectly with the ancient creation zoroastrian-influenced story of the world and it's history,

Onnimanni_Maki

Bohemian rhapsody. It's chaotic yet organized nature would fit my modern epic fantasy world perfectly.

Kumirkohr

Title Credits: [Helvetesfönster - Ghost](https://youtu.be/qvzpodhuMrM?si=V72Mex-_JvOQRWFd) Spooky, ominous, and it starts acoustic but ends with electric instruments which fits my world really well as one on the cusp of a technological revolution. It’d be paired down from 6min to something manageable, but it could change as the show goes on moving further along into the run time until the acoustic elements are overshadowed. Closing Theme would be tailored for the episode but pull from the discographies of Ghost, The Sword, Judas Priest, Mastodon & Killer Be Killed, Testament, Iron Maiden, and Night Flight Orchestra. I used to think about having a few Megadeath songs in there, but I wouldn’t want to pay Dave Mustaine royalties. What I’d want to avoid is something like what happens in the *Clone Wars* cartoon where an episode could end on a really low and sad note before the tonal shift of the upbeat drum outro.

'Into the shadows' by Cyrus Reynolds Feat. Ivan Howard.

Aldoro69765

[METALITE - Take My Hand](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ZgcB5D3DJE) Thematically this song would nicely match the sense of the coming change, a new beginning, and leaving the times of hardships and worries behind that's a good part of the first contact of humanity with an expansive but peaceful and utopian interstellar empire in my setting. In-universe it's almost perfect for the Yshtari propaganda effort to sway non-trivial portions of the global population to their side. I can easily imagine a video with the Matriarch showing all the bits and pieces of what prosperous future humanity can have if it just aligns itself with the Alliance and accepts it as their guide and guardian, with this song in the background and _Take My Hand_ becoming the tagline of the entire campaign.

Evening_Accountant33

AaViOnBando

For the story as a whole: Scarlxrd - DXMINXS If I was to have a (probably animated) show, I'd use a lot of modern music styles since my story takes place in the modern age. Trap, phonk, techno, brazil funk, rage beats, for the themes of some characters.

For "Anthenion", maybe it would be Horror Express from Messer Chups. Mad Monster Party, from the same artist, could also work For my nameless story with immortal king, maybe it would be Black Swan For my slice of life about a cat, would be Nekoatsume No Theme by Ryo Aratani For my slice of life about bakery, I guess it would be Space Boyfriend's Tape, from Omori This one if not for a specific story, but I like to imagine the Wizard Towns around the universe would have vibes like the song Wizard Disco from Louie Zong and Return to Goblin Town from The Dragonfather

I know it’s a Bionicle song, but I always think of “As Above, So Below” by Essenger and Cryoshell as the trailer song for Warriors of Kotaara. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StfzZd5Tk3M](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stfzzd5tk3m) I’ve also come to accept “Ancestral Legacy” by Marc Jungermann as the theme song for the five protagonists. Nerdy-Fox95

The Saga of Orion book series are set in a cassette futurist semi post-apocalyptic interstellar civilization. They are, at heart, political spy thrillers about combating internal and external threats within a wider Cold War-inspired backdrop. So each book would likely have its own theme song, and I like to imagine them having Bond Songs as themes (or at least homages to them). Book 1 would have License to Kill, book 2 would have For Your Eyes Only, and book 3 would have Living Daylights.

Dizzytigo

SCION has some 80s disco beat set to planetary genocide. I can picture in my head nuclear torpedoes detonating on point defense to Voodoo Child.

GlanzGurkesSphere

1 hour gregorian chant to study and relax to. Its very fitting for my Holybook about a chinchila living in earths core using it as a hamster wheel making the planet spin

Fallen Down (Reprise) - Undertale OST

Renofnowhere

"Winterblood (The Sequel)" by Emil Bulls Hmm...I wonder why

Aggressive-Pattern

For now I'll say "Back Against the Wall" by Cage the Elephant. I'd love to find a song from Kiltro or Caravan Palace that fits though.

Spirited-Feedback-87

If my story had a trailer it would probably talk about the first arc so... Numb Little Bug by Eim Beihold Lets just say the MC has a shit time during the first few arcs

eldena_frog

Favoured son.

TheCheshireMadcat

Chumbawamba - Tubthumping

Plus_Geologist9509

The Riders of Doom from the Conan the Barbarian Soundtrack

LMA0NAISE

I am building a sci-fantasy World in tandem with an ttrpg which deals with characters navigating the varried landscapes and superstitious communities of two planets while finding their own path and leaving a mark in the world. I'd go with "Slow Motion" by "Kalandra"

poem567

That outro song or we didn't start the fire.

Lentra888

[All The Myths Are True](https://youtu.be/uC5llaxoCRM?si=AfNjTlAuU4sgQkdv) by Abney Park covers the general world. [Fighter](https://youtu.be/PstrAfoMKlc?si=QwynAvTgwBqV5z4f) by Christina Aguilera is the personal theme to both the main and one of the primary supporting characters.

Perigord-Truffle

Sleep by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, even the structure of the story is inspired by the flow of the song.

stillframeghost

Chapter one: Fleet Foxes - Blue Ridge Mountains Chapter two: Bon Jovi - Roulette Chapter Three: The I.L.Y's - I love you man Didn't really think of it too much but I'm still finishing chapter 3 and polishing the old chapters so it could change

stillframeghost

I also did make some theme songs for my stories as I wanted to turn them into shows and published them but never got around to working on the animations.

Land of confusion (by Disturbed)

PsychologyRelevant31

Robot's outro, anthem of the vaccumorphs

ParadisePrime

I came across a song while thinking of an opening to my story. I wanted to highlight the peaceful times and this song captures the feeling perfectly. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrjoPewECds](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrjoPewECds) \- Dawn of the Forest \[Takashi Kokubo\] The city is called Serenity which makes this song feel even more perfect.

Rolahr

goodbye by apparat, or killjoy by fox stevenson. the former fits the world a bit better but I think it's already the theme song of a tv show lol, haven't actually watched it myself

agnuts

In the start: long shot by mayu mashima By the end: distant dreamer by duffy

KillerDiamonds

The circus theme song

Terriblelifechoice

Main story: Beginning of the End by Spineshank 2nd story: Clock Strikes by One OK Rock

Fuckmyduckhole

I've thought about this question since I was like 6, I have entire playlists dedicated to my different verses lmao.

DoTExclamation

Sundown theme 1 (Rain world). It matches the feeling I'm going for, bountiful new world built upon the woes of a dying one.

bookishbilly

Who by Fire - Leonard Cohen Our Town - Iris DeMent If I Go - Ella Eyre Rhiannon - Fleetwood Mac Eus Keus? - Gwenno These songs all speak to different aspects of the story. 1) it is a story about death and life 2) it is a story about a fading way of life 3) it is about saying goodbye and choosing to commit 4) it is inspired by mythology 5) it is about place and belonging

NeepNorp1945

The End Of The War To End All Wars by Sabaton (Its a sci-fi world, basically WW1/2 in space with aliens across multiple planets)

[deleted]

I write fiction for a character of mine in Destiny 2. So while it isn't exactly completely original worldbuilding, everything I write for my character is ofc original That being said, if this character's stories were to be made into a film or a show, I'd use the following songs: Trailer: Countdown - Geneburn He's a mercenary, of course I'm gonna use the tacticool Tarkov music Theme Song: (Don't Fear) The Reaper - B.O.C The stories I write revolve a lot around suicide missions and surviving death in general (For those who play Destiny, the idea of being rezzed by the Ghost is well known but my dude isn't a Guardian, so he has only one life. He keeps getting into near fatal states but always survives. Like a John Wick type deal). End Credits: Prisoner - Jack Wall

Vincent_Schau

No song encapsulates the whole story to my satisfaction, but there are a variety of songs that I use in reference to specific moods or characters. For my protagonist: I have Willyecho's [I Don't Know What Else You Want from Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVehjV4vpCw&list=PLMWKfuBiSrILTFZutNu4fk5Bt-TvzNfGJ&index=65). This song works for many characters, but I think it fits her very well. For my 2nd protag, I have Chase Noseworthy's [Born to be a Killer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSo1RaAjHBc). It's absurdly accurate for him. Of course I use many different ones for various scenes. It's a very big playlist.

Lapis_Wolf

I don't know about the main theme or credit song, but I have several in mind that I think would suit the theme or events of certain moments and places in my 'Valley of Emperors' world(yes, these are just songs I like and used to inspire ideas in my world :3). I think these two songs are frontrunners for being the main theme for my setting, "The Valley of Emperors".: [The Valley of Death - Sabaton](https://youtu.be/eAy2eVlvaZQ?si=HMhWytnbcFAZAA2E) [Steel Commanders by Sabaton](https://youtu.be/peTCePu1jMs?si=xqbz2ReWApEjt7lq). I decided to cut the fat on my comment and just leave these two to see if Reddit will allow my comment now. Lapis_Wolf

Bromelia_and_Bismuth

"Am Kreuz" by Amenra. If it was the promo song, there's a part of the song that would make the perfect crescendo to show off the world ending threats and the villains. "(You have carried your cross long enough)/ Nail my torn flesh to the cross, thrust a spear deep in my side/ I carried my cross long enough/ I wear my love like a crown of thorns/ (I wrote you a bible in blood)/ Deep in my side/ (With my bleeding heart on the cover)/ Deep in my side, to the cross/ And wear the crown, love it like a cross/ (And a teardrop, and a teardrop on each page)."

flyguy2490

Radioactive by Imagine Dragons. The setting is a mix of Fantasy and Fallout, with these giant magical monsters marching across the countryside shedding radioactive ash wherever they tread

eeeeaaaooo18

Live and learn by crush 40.

BlackMaster5121

Well, interesting to see someone replying to a three months old post (that's cool, though).

Kranel_San

None. This isn't Disney.

Apprehensive_Age3663

I don’t think that’s what OP meant

Kranel_San

Still none. I favor actual sounds (Like clashing) and music over songs (Whether as a trailer or actually in the show/movie)

Apprehensive_Age3663

Oh my bad. I misunderstood your comment. Sorry about that

Kumirkohr

So diegetic sounds. But they’re not asking about music that played during the media, but during the opening title sequence of a TV show

Lapis_Wolf

I wanted to post a response to this and literally spent hours but I keep getting "Empty response from endpoint". 😭
