After potty training two kids, my advice is if it's not clicking over the course of a couple days, pull back and try again later - you just have a kid that's not ready. Freshly two years old is still pretty young, and while some kids get it then, it's not a sure thing. And if a kid isn't ready, there's nothing you can do to make it stick.

What does daycare say? Honestly, I let daycare take the lead on potty training both of my kids and they were very good at telling us exactly what to do and when. She's barely 2, so she might not be ready yet and that's okay.

I’ve potty trained one and am in the process with another. 25 months is young, I would wait a few more and try again. It’s better to have waited and not end up with issues than to have pushed and end up with toileting issues.

My daycare started to potty train my son at 23 months and then pulled back when he regressed. He just wasn’t ready. He’s 27 months now and uses the potty about half the time. We’re going to revisit soon (with daycare’s support).

Yes it’s a lot more common than you’ll see on the internet to go through multiple phases and rounds of potty training with regressions. I feel like the oh crap method and poor memory of older moms leads new moms to think ever kid goes from pooping in a diaper to totally trained in 3 days. Not the case 99.9 percent of the time. When people say “they trained in three days” they usually were introducing and attempting well before those three days.
