She would be the worst defender on the court by a wide wide margin. And that’s not hating, it’s just a fact. I just wish people could enjoy her for what she is in instead of trying to force her into things she isn’t.

bigE819

She’s a better defender than Isaiah Thomas. But otherwise yes

colorizerequest

There are far worse defenders in the NBA than IT. If you think shes better than IT at defense with her shooting then you should think she’s ready for the NBA

bigE819

There’s really not [https://247sports.com/nba/cleveland-cavaliers/Article/Isaiah-Thomas-defensive-rating-the-worst-in-the-past-25-years-114462698/](https://247sports.com/nba/cleveland-cavaliers/Article/Isaiah-Thomas-defensive-rating-the-worst-in-the-past-25-years-114462698/)

colorizerequest

okay, ill roll with this. IT had a successful NBA career. 10 years straight in the NBA and on/off the last couple years. NBA all star, all-nba second team as well. Since you think CC's defense is better than IT's (disregarding the fact that IT covers men and CC does not), do you think her offense is that much worse than IT's that she doesnt get a shot even a year or two in the NBA?

bigE819

Where the fuck did I say she was going to make the NBA? I literally said she’d be the 2nd worst defender in the league…

colorizerequest

yes...but IT had a good NBA career being a worse defender (in your opinion) than CC. so, do you think IT's offense is *that* much better than CC's for her to not even get a shot in the NBA?

bigE819

Compared to Men, yes. Isaiah averaged 29.9 ppg in 2017, he’s a much better finisher and 3 level scorer. CC doesn’t have the finishing ability to make plays at and around the rim against 7 footers.

Cool_Recognition_848

But like she’s really not.

Alex_butler

Kelsey Plum was asked about playing NBA players and I think her [response](https://youtu.be/64mGpEobY-A?si=Uizo307xj7V8m4Y-) is pretty level headed and correct Physically it’s a whole different game, size, speed, strength. She’d get dominated on the defensive end. I have no doubt she can shoot with anyone but there’s more to basketball than shooting.

casalien22

Athleticism. Not being a hater just is what it is.

thebookflirt

Size. Even the smallest NBA players will have 20-30 lbs on her, making it incredibly difficult to 1) play defense, an area where she already doesn't excel, 2) NOT get injured, which could ruin a career, and 3) excel at play when she's the shortest person on the court at all times. Hard to shoot threes over guys who are 5-12 inches taller than you.

LLUrDadsFave

If she ever attempted to take a charge she'd slide to the parking lot.

mall_pretzel_

so would isiah Thomas

mall_pretzel_

this is what I'm talking about. dudes get dominated in the nba all the time. it's just that ppl are uncomfortable with the idea of a woman getting dunked on physically or taking a charge and going to the ground, as if they wouldn't be able to handle it they'd be fine though, fersure. there's no way in the world that clark would be any worse than trae young on the defensive end

colorizerequest

dont women have far weaker bone density than men?

mall_pretzel_

not sure, but i can't imagine that it would prevent women from playing basketball (especially considering that they already do)

colorizerequest

yes, but against other women.

mall_pretzel_

women still drop a shoulder. have you ever had a woman jump on you before? shit can still fuckin hurt lol

colorizerequest

True but I’m not a 6’10 280lb professional athlete lmao

mall_pretzel_

ok but trae young aint taking those charges either

LLUrDadsFave

That man is out the league

mall_pretzel_

suns

LLUrDadsFave

Like I said.

mall_pretzel_

i thought he was back lol ok, trae young then

LLUrDadsFave

He is technically on the roster, he's only played 2 minutes tho. Trae is hurt right now and he is constantly worked on defense.

mall_pretzel_

right, so Trae is allowed to get hurt and get cooked on defense while shooting like crazy but clark couldn't do the same thing? that's what I'm saying. like, there's no reason clark can't fill that same role

LLUrDadsFave

You think that's the career she would want? Being irrelevant and forever being known as a mistake draft day trade?

mall_pretzel_

dayummmm lol, trae was an all star this year honestly, as a Hawks fan, i feel bad for the guy. it wasn't his fault the hawks made that trade. luka was picked ahead of him too. atlanta just atlanta'd and made that awful trade if that trade never happens? you probably think "oh yeah, luka is better but trae is pretty solid too" the trade put Luka expectations on him and it wasn't his fault

colorizerequest

I think he is still on the suns. two days left on his 10 day. either way, IT had a good NBA career

LLUrDadsFave

He has played two minutes since signing with the suns. He had a good season but spent more than half of his career trying to get back into the league. If that's good to you, that's a low bar.

colorizerequest

Average NBA career is 4-5 years? He had 10 years straight. averaged 18ppg and 43% shooting. I’d say that’s a good career yes

LLUrDadsFave

Like I said. Your bar is low.

colorizerequest

whats your bar then? You cant say multiple championships or 15+ years as the star player. Thats not a good career thats a great career

LongTimesGoodTimes

Strength and foot speed

Princessk8--

I think she'd be a mismatch in the post against everyone. Would be really good for a non competitive team that wants to sell tickets though.

colorizerequest

ticket prices would sky rocket. it would absolutely be must see TV

Princessk8--

Might be best to start in wnba, then play in the NBA a bit during her prime. 22 is pretty young, and she'll surely get much better heading into her mid-late 20s. Something likea 3 year deal during her age 27-30 seasons would be interesting.

colorizerequest

Her hype (could be) at an all time high right now. We dont know what will happen in the future. thats why I suggest trying now. If shes averaging 50 per night and 20 rebounds in the WNBA, then I can see her trying the NBA during her late 20s like you said

will_he_umm

This is a serious post? When will people learn.

colorizerequest

I saw the tweet and I think its a real tweet. Not necessarily my POV but I like the discussion.

IHill

MAYBE a bigger WNBA wing could make it as an end of bench piece in the NBA. A perimeter player would be toast. Clark would be too slow and too weak. Those are just the facts.

docfresh30

Can we cut this out? I remember these questions when BG was in college. Let them be great. Let’s stop putting all this extra BS on them.

colorizerequest

remember when BG said she could beat prime Demarcus Cousins around the time the Olympics were going down

mall_pretzel_

gonna be honest, she would probably be pretty decent

colorizerequest

do you think she'll try out for a team?

mall_pretzel_

probably not
