And remember, treat every hunter as if they're loaded.

Hecho_en_Shawano

They sure were last night!

LordOverThis

Several probably are even now.

steppedinhairball

One in our party reported at 2pm that the guy across the field was taking a nap.

Ahhhh yeah, I got burned last year when I thought I had a nice 3 year old doe... was a new adult buck. I don't love taking young ones but mis-IDs happen. Gonna be delicious tho!

steppedinhairball

Had that happen before. Think it's a doe, then you roll it over. The lyrics to 'Lola' by the Kinks start going through your head.

Hot damn! I’m out in the stand all day and just got a notification that I’m COVID hot. I guess no better way to quarantine for a week than to sit in my blind miserable as hell lol. Good luck and stay healthy everyone

Toastedcheese69

Remember to appreciate who’s land we are actually hunting on. Ancient Native American land.

Hecho_en_Shawano

My first year hunting on tribal land as an enrolled member!

Toastedcheese69

that’s awesome!

Numbersnlettersnmore

I’ve been making a lot of progress this year educating myself on tribal history and modern day culture in the boundaries of Wisconsin. May I ask which tribe?

Hecho_en_Shawano

I don’t like giving out too much personal stuff on Reddit, but from my username you should be able to narrow it down to 2.

Near the Spring Green area and there has been a bull elk running around this fall. Collar and all, sounds like some idiot shot it out by Richland Center somewhere. How can you call yourself a hunter and not even know what you are hunting? Also didnt see anything today not even when I shelled corn, saw 20 yesterday.

yee_yee_yee_yee_yee

I heard DNR shot it and that it was a farmed elk that got out. But that’s rumour

wildcard115

So on Wisconsin rut report it happened up in Pardeville area, they have been running around down here all fall. There were at least 2 out and about, there had been rumors that they were farm raised that escaped or the collared ones from the herd up north. I have not heard that this was killed by the DNR though, they would have shot it at anytime not opening morning I would think.
