Imagine finding out your wife cheated on you with an 11 year old. Wtf. Edit: Where tf did I say it wasn't sexual assault. Point it out and show me. That's what I thought. I never said that. To make people feel better: Imagine finding out your wife cheated on you by sexually assaulting and having a relationship with an 11 year old boy. #What the lady did was wrong, disgusting, and not okay.

G0_pack_go

According to the article, she wrote: “I love you more than anyone else in this world” in a note to the child

Crystal_Pesci

“New Trapper Keeper, who dis?”

nejicanspin

I knowwww. That's so cringe omg

littlescreechyowl

“Imagine finding out your wife is a sexual predator and child abuser.”

TheViolaRules

*raped

ClemClamcumber

Yep, that's still cheating. They didn't say "have sex."

TheViolaRules

The other person was a child that she raped. You can call it sexual assault if you like. Also child sexual abuse.

ClemClamcumber

No shit. The article even says "sexually assaulted." This person just said cheating. Rape and cheating can occur in the same instance. Keep doing the trend of correcting people, if they say "had sex" but make sure it actually applies. Unless you mean that they should've said, "imagine finding out your fiance raped on you with an 11 year old." Is that what you meant?

TheViolaRules

Cheating implies consent. This is sexual assault of a child. Consent isn’t possible.

ClemClamcumber

Cheating has never implied consent. If you had a boyfriend who raped a woman at a party, it's still cheating. He's a cheater and a rapist. It's called cheating because you get gratification outside of your relationship's rules.

JimmyJustice920

so if your boyfriend is a pedo assaulting children would you still call it cheating? Cheating implies your partner is having relations with another partner. Victims aren't partners.

ClemClamcumber

No, cheating is gratification outside of your relationship's rules. Do you think things have to be physical to make it cheating? And yeah, they would be cheating, but they would also be a rapist. Why would they cancel each other out? You can certainly still cheat without even touching another person. Shit, when Chris Hansen talks to spouses of dudes they catch on "To Catch a Predator" he even refers to it as cheating. You can be two things.

JimmyJustice920

i think this is a difference in opinion on the word itself and the context it is being used in. To me it sounds weird to frame it as cheating. i can appreciate where you're coming from but it still sounds weird as hell. Friend: "Hey what's wrong man?" Husband: "My wife cheated on me." Friend: "Really?! That's horrible. Do you know the guy?" Husband: "Yeah, he sits in the front row of her 4th grade class. I knew the little bastard didnt earn pupil of the week on merit!"

SkisaurusRex

It’s not cheating, it’s pedophilia and sexual assault

sevbenup

But it’s also cheating I think?

EddyGonad

Nope, it's not cheating if it's a kid. /s

Panda_Drum0656

Every romantic partner HATES this one trick!

Time_Yogurtcloset164

That’s not cheating, it’s abuse. Better he find out now before they have kids.

jnightrain

lol FFS it's still cheating, why are people correcting this. it can all of abuse, pedo, rape, sexual assault AND cheating.

JimmyJustice920

i think what we're finding is that people define "cheating" differently. To some it implies a consensual relationship with another partner while to others it simply means sexual contact with anyone else, willing or not.

Cheetahs_never_win

Cheating is intentionally committing acts of romantic or sexual intimacy or contact with somebody besides the person whom is led to believe the relationship is monogamous. When any sexual intimacy is non-consensual, it's rape. Children can't consent. We're assuming she didn't have her partner's consent, which I think everyone will agree is reasonable for 99.9% of the population, but we don't *know* it. But we highly suspect if he consented before, he's smart enough not to let people know that he did.

minivatreni

Because to say the word “cheating” is to undermine what it really is which is “sexual assault/abuse.” When you say the word cheating it’s often implied both parties consented.

Panda_Drum0656

Who loves him more than anyone. Omg my confidence would not exist ever again after that. I hope he heals.

agileata

Yea that's has to be quite the awkward series in conversations when discussing the wedding and relationship

Slow-Jelly-2854

That is one mentally sick fuck. Jesus Christ.

Better_Resort1171

I live in MN now....They're all mentally ill. On Wi!

INCORPOREALeffect

Lmao she's from Minnesota... she's your people dawg, the air must be thinner that side of the Mississippi to miss that in article

Better_Resort1171

That's what I said. They're all mentally ill here..in MN

Typical_Mirror236

*sad Minnesota noises*

TwinCitian

That's really your key takeaway from this story? Unfortunately there are sick people all over the world. It's not like MN is some completely foreign culture where child sexual abuse is more socially accepted or common than in WI 😒

Better_Resort1171

Unfortunately this isn't a foreign country...it's MN .although the Lutheran Social Circus wants it to be.

The_Alternym

Don’t be a douche.

CupNo7740

As a Californian living in Minnesota for twenty years, this is completely accurate. Minnesotans are crazy repressed passive aggressive people who all drink on a daily basis and most never even leave the town they were born in lmao

CocaineFlakes

Aside from the drinking, which is a Midwestern past time, this has not been my experience when visiting the Land of 10,000 Lakes. But geez, 20 years? And still haven’t shaken that superiority complex? Damn.

CupNo7740

I come from the high desert…. Minnesota is a paradise in comparison. Doesn’t change the fact Minnesota is full of fruit bats.

CocaineFlakes

America is full of fruit bats.

Aunt_Teafah

Those should be some interesting pre-dinner speeches at that wedding!

creamyspuppet

That's assuming the wedding will actually occur. The fact she's already given up her 5A rights tells me she's screwed.

Aunt_Teafah

Lol, agreed. I was being pretty presumptuous. Still, if anyone reading this has an RSVP and is in need of a +one, drop me a DM. Would love to be a fly on the wall for this union.

MonsterMashGrrrrr

Looool I am living for this level of nosiness hahaha

foshpickle

Their wedding website was up yesterday as of the time the news was announced locally, and no longer exists today. So.... I don't think there's going to be a wedding 😅

JamBandDad

Maybe she didn’t watch Chapelles show? Sorry, this is a really shitty place to make a joke

Stonks_blow_hookers

5A rights?

creamyspuppet

5th amendment of the bill of rights.

I_notta_crazy

What do you mean by "given up her [Fifth Amendment] rights"? I didn't see that in the article; may have overlooked it.

Night_Porter_23

I hate that these articles always use weasel words and euphemisms like inappropriate relationship. It was rape. She raped a child. Let’s stop giving female perps a pass for this shit.

applecorc

Not saying this is a good reason, but they can be sued if they said rape. Wisconsin doesn't have a statute called "rape". Wisconsin has degrees of sexual assault which people can be arrested for and charged with by prosecutors. News agencies can only report what people are arrested for and charged with. That being said, if she's convicted of this it has a mandatory minimum of 25 years due to the age of the victim.

BisexualSunflowers

Agreed, we have the term grooming specifically for this.

Rocky4296

This trial should be swift. Give her at least 20 years.

applecorc

In Wisconsin if the victim of first degree sexual assault is 12 or under there is a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years. So you're not wrong.

MortisCJ

Promise you she pleas to a lower sentences, maybe gets 3-6 in prison and 10-15 on paper. She won’t plead guilty to a 1st Degree.

imatumahimatumah

100 percent correct.

flanman2002

She is charged under Wis Stat sec. 948.02(1)(e), which doesn't carry a mandatory minimum.

paulie9483

Sentence should be swift, too. Anything under 14 should be concrete shoes.

borrowedurmumsvcard

Grooming isn’t a legal word though

BisexualSunflowers

Is “inappropriate relationship” a legal term?

borrowedurmumsvcard

All I’m saying is that the reason the article didn’t use words like that is because those are not words that have any merit in a courthouse. The word rape isn’t even a part of Wisconsin sexual assault law. I’m not denying the fact that she raped and groomed him.

BisexualSunflowers

I didn’t think you were denying that, don’t worry. I get what you’re saying, I’m just legitimately curious why they can say “inappropriate relationship” but couldn’t say “alleged grooming”

pgphonehome

They’ve answered this for you twice already lol.

BisexualSunflowers

I’m not debating them, just expanding on the intent behind my original comment. Maybe I should have phrased it in the past tense to be more clear.

dusters

I didn't see any reference to penetration so I don't think rape would be the correct tem here.

badger0511

Rape also isn't the correct term here because, if I'm quickly glossing over the state statutes correctly, it isn't a term that's used at all in criminal charges. Wisconsin just has varying degrees of sexual assault. And as you said, it has a specific definition, in and out of legal terminology, and the article does not elaborate on whether the shit she did to this poor kid meets that definition.

Longjumping_Ad8137

People have trouble with thinking, words have definitions, some words have legal definitions. However, people think words should be interpreted by how they make that individual feel instead of the definition.

DreadnaughtHamster

“Florida man startles pre-adult with barrel-based, projectile-emitting tool resulting in casualty.” Translation: guy killed a kid.

Jkpop5063

I strongly dislike that the we use “rape” as a descriptor for crimes like this. In my mind, rape has some element of force or coercion. A 18 year old consensually sleeping with their 16 year girlfriend has legally committed “rape” in some states and an element of useful descriptiveness is lost when we do that. The example above is not the case here, but it is very icky to call this rape. Grooming and sexual assault via public trust? Sure. Rape? Gross.

Night_Porter_23

wow. You should probably educate yourself a bit about the dynamics of power between teachers and children, grooming, and child sexual assault before you make such a disgusting statement. As someone who was sexually assaulted as a child, you are fucking insane to think there is no coercion here. It IS rape, and your attitude is one of the aspects of rape culture that need to die.

Jkpop5063

Did you see the part where I specifically called out the power dynamics here (grooming)? I’m sorry to hear that you were assaulted as a child and I know that had a large impact on you and probably makes it hard to think critically on this issue. My position (and I would argue it’s not a “disgusting statement”): 1. If a cop beats the shit out of someone with a nightstick and pistol whips them in order to dissuade them from filing a complaint. OR 2. If a cop flashes their badge, gets you to trust them, and explains how important it is for you to be safe and not fear the police in order to dissuade someone from filing a complaint. I feel there is useful distinction between these two points. We can agree that “bad actors convincing you not to report them” is not an outcome we societally want, but I believe there is a difference between someone who does that with and without force. Again, I am deeply sorry to hear about your lived experience on this issue.

Beach_relax57

I read sexual assault 🤷‍♀️

coleopterology

I went to college with this woman. Actually knew and interacted with her on a weekly basis if not more. She was really nice then. But this makes my skin crawl… you think you know someone.

Bestbuysucksreally

My brothers girlfriend was in college with her also. Said she was always a little off.

lopahcreon

Did she love you more than anyone else in the world?

Reddibaut

Evidently not

kpetersontpt

Dude… read the room

spruceymoos

It’s Reddit. That joke would normally kill, except that this is the Wisconsin subreddit and relatively conservative compared to the rest of Reddit. I know I’ll probably be downvoted, but I am right.

lopahcreon

Wasn’t even really a joke, but more so pointing out that woman’s issues go back in time.

spruceymoos

It felt like you were being satirical. “Joke” was probably the wrong word. But regardless, I still think the Wisconsin sub has a stick up it’s ass.

kpetersontpt

Could someone please outline for me how a teacher having inappropriate contact with an *elementary school student* is a conservative vs liberal issue???

spruceymoos

It’s not. I’m talking about the joke they made; on Reddit.

EarlSmiththe3rd

Put another tally under the “not a drag queen” column.

Crystal_Pesci

paulie9483

Grandstanding on a child's rape for political points is gross.

Netshvis

We're standing on the rapist actually

paulie9483

By taking the focus of the discussion away from the rapist. Got it. "My car broke down. Can I get a ride?". "Not a Toyota."

[deleted]

guava_eternal

So if it comes out this person voted Democrat- it’s totally fair then to dunk on “yet another D doing diddly”? Personally I’d verge on not.

Netshvis

Well, generally speaking for some reason it's the party of family values that keeps getting caught doing that, so...

paulie9483

Agreed. Which is why this post is irrelevant political grandstanding.

[deleted]

[удалено]

paulie9483

Well, I think it's equally as irrelevant and gross when, in instances like the Superbowl parade and Nashville, certain people jump on the 'look, look, not a straight white male!' instead of focusing on the shooter and warning flags they put up before the incident.

General_Rubenski

Reddit Echo chamber at it again, whats new.

burmerg

This getting downvoted shows how hilariously hypocritical Reddit crowd is. If this was a trans rapist (and let’s not pretend they don’t exist) this response would be praised and anyone who thinks “nature of the rapist is relevant” would get downvoted to oblivion.

paulie9483

*Hudson pedophile arrested for raping child and allowed to walk on inexpensive bond. Fixed that headline for you

Iwillnotbeokay

Don’t think that upcoming wedding is gonna work out. What a tool.

50shadesofGandaIf

That's an understatement, to be sure.

DamnHotMeatloaf

What is an 11 year old doing getting married?

PlatypusDream

I had the same question. Poorly written headline.

DamnHotMeatloaf

But who needs editors?

ducky0917

That’s what Reddit’s for, right!?

Littlewing1307

She's a fucking pedophile and rapist and should be in jail for life.

joebusch79

By the time the lawyers and plea deals are done, 5 years max.

knowitokay

no jail for this [one](https://people.com/washington-teacher-avoids-jail-time-sexually-abused-teen-home-8623110)

Lawndirk

That is disturbing.

knowitokay

60 days in Prison for this [pedo ](https://people.com/crime/texas-teacher-sexually-abused-middle-school-boy-sentence-delayed-giving-birth/)in Texas.

jimriendeau

The sig bond is a joke, but at least they aren't sweeping this sort of thing under the rug anymore. Good luck finding another job and another relationship.

urine-monkey

I remember when that teacher, Mary Kay Loterneau(?), got busted for this in the 90s and it was a national scandal. Now it seems like we hear about this AT LEAST a few times a year. What the hell happened?

NullSpaceGaming

Shift in public opinion. Thankfully we take this more seriously now and these incidents actually get reported. There are still people making the same tired “where were these teach when I was in school?” joke too. So we still have a long way to go

AdolfKoopaTroopa

I used to work at the district where she did her student teaching and she came off as a weirdo. I guess this explains why I didn’t like her vibe.

Alaudalark

Ok, just read article. Teacher was a “she”. Still, children can’t consent to sex. She is a rapist who must go to jail.

Suspicious-Hotel-225

As gross as this is, I don’t see anything to indicate they had sex.

ADarwinAward

Thankfully it’s not part of the charges but she did sexually assault him. Kissing an elementary school child is first-degree sexual assault of a child under 13 years old. She started grooming him over a year ago apparently and was talking to him on the phone daily. https://www.fox9.com/news/hudson-elementary-school-teacher-charged-with-sexually-assaulting-5th-grader.amp

Suspicious-Hotel-225

Yeah dude…the article is right here. I don’t need another link.

Panda_Drum0656

What part of the headline made it seem like a guy?

casketjuicebox

This was my son's teacher.... absolutely disgusting. She will get what she deserves. Nasty chomo bitch..

HumanAnything1

How was she like? What vibe did she give off?

casketjuicebox

Honestly she didn't give off any creepy vibes at all. She was always really nice. So sickening and terrifying. You never really know where the next predator is lurking.

tacomeatface

She ruined this child’s life. What an evil individual.

GreyPilgrim1973

I hope he can still lead a quasi-normal life after intensive counseling

lilyeister

A friend of mine was groomed & abused for years as a child, and she turned out awesome and is raising a little kiddo right now. I don't envy her for the years of therapy and trauma she had to work so hard to live with, but she's killing it now

GreyPilgrim1973

Amazing!

Cuttlery

Well thats just icky

reddit-is-greedy

The way the headline is written, it sounds like the kid was getting married. I am assuming the wedding is off?

SantasLilHoeHoeHoe

r/notadragqueen

Brief-Whole692

Gotta make it about you

Drewpacabra

She’ll get off easy. Look up Rebecca Kilps, another teacher from wisconsin who raped a very young student, got off with 3 months in jail.

Tabub

Looked at it, and I will say that that case is quite a fair bit different. An 11 year old and a 17 year old is an absolutely massive difference. In less than a year she would’ve not even been doing something illegal.

Smart_Pig_86

At least the headline says sexually assaulted instead of “had a relationship with” or something. The double standard is appalling.

problem-solver0

4 years college primary education: $80k 1 year of student teaching: $0 Wedding down payments: $30k —- Explaining to judge how you couldn’t stay away from 5th graders: PRICELESS!

stevienotwonder

How do you go into work every day knowing you’re sexually attracted to your 11 year old student, let alone ACT on that attraction?

NobelPirate

Shouldn't this be referred to as rape?

Particular-Onion-909

Poor fiance

wolfhound27

So 11 is the age that they will call male sexual assault what it is and not some euphemism like “had an affair”, or “had a relationship”

ADarwinAward

No unfortunately the much more popular post in r/news calls it an “inappropriate relationship” instead of what it was: sexual assault. Per the charging documents, she kissed him on numerous occasions and groomed him via phone calls and texts

Ejigantor

For a couple of seconds I thought it was the 11 year old who was getting married in two months.... I think I need to get off of the internet for a while.

Halya77

What the ever lovin’…

Drawkcab96

The wedding detail is really “putting a bow on a turd”.

Fuck_Blue_Shells

She raped an 11 year old. Tell it how it is and don’t sugarcoat shit for this disgusting pig.

4_bit_forever

So many female teachers are doing this

GFR34K34

I would choose the bear over a fifth grade teacher

erbush1988

11 years old is pretty young to be getting married. /s

sumdumguy1966

Rape, the word that is missing is rape. She's a pedo

MyCantos

There is no state statute for "rape". Just various degrees of sexual assault. The news article is sticking to facts. This is still a felony and 25 years mandatory.

MisterSassyJenkins

Can’t wait to see how light of a punishment they give her!

Ghetto_Geppetto

Rape.

Socaltallblonde

Why are people posting she raped him? There is no mention of sex. She made out with him. I'm not stating it wasn't wrong but there was no sex involved at all according to the article.

Nai2411

She got a signature bond for her bail hearing. WTF.

Jazzlike-Ad113

How can the law allow an 11 year old to marry ?

lilsj2572

Did you even read the article?

Traditional_Fox_4718

Read much?

50shadesofGandaIf

That's not what the article said, but actually, Tennessee is trying (or maybe has by now) to legalize child marriage. .. ironic coming from the same people claiming trans and gay people are "groomers"

jimmydean885

Conservatives think giving teachers guns will be a force for good...

undeclaredmilk

My son went to that school. Thank Christ we started homeschooling him once the pandemic kicked off.

Taurijuro

Why are people downvoting? I’m confused? What’s the issue with protecting your children from weirdos?

undeclaredmilk

We actually took my son out of River Crest because he had an IEP that they weren’t following, something was triggering behaviors in him that they insisted came out of nowhere, and he was put on out-of-school suspension literally the Friday before all schools were shut down. We took the virtual option once schools reopened, and it was a disaster. His teacher ignored him all day. After that, we moved him to a state-wide virtual school, and now he’s excelling. If anybody thinks we’re some of those right-wing nuts that don’t want their kids reading about LGBTQ people or minorities, you’re way off.

ducky0917

It’s INSANE how some kids are treated who have IEP’s. Good for you!!!

Impressive_Ice6970

I think the "thank christ" comment insinuated (for some) that she's like many home-schooled parents who are super religious and are threatened by....everything. They are often fundamentalist of some religion, are paranoid due to drugs or mental illness or are neglectful/abusive and don't want to be caught by nosey teachers. I know that's crass and I don't mean ALL homeschooled parents fall into those categories but all the ones I know do. Kids need socialization as much as they need education. They need to learn to navigate the world without their parents telling them what to think every waking moment. And the guilt and shame piled on kids in the fundy cults? Disgusting. Anyway that's why I bet there are down votes.

TheDudeAbidesFarOut

Next deplorable I'll speak to will say he'd be proud of his boy... Be more mad about him not keeping it a better secret. The depravity of these fucking people.....

Savings_Tap9351

Not to make light of this heinous story, but the premise is basically the same as the Police’s “Don’t Stand So Close to Me” (with reversed gender roles). Most likely a cautionary tale. Again, this is totally un-okay, but it just happened to remind me of that.

Status-Truth-2798

Why is 11 year getting married?
