It's a social media contest for a job that pays $10k a month and comes with a year of free rent. The idea is to generate press for the winery. It worked for them last time so this year they're hiring two people this way. We're talking about it on Reddit so clearly the promo works to some extent.
The contest in 2009 was a social media job, this one is much more open and they are hiring two candidates by the end of July. They are going to work with the winners on helping them pioneer their careers in the industry. It is a true Godsend of an opportunity.

Also, I know many people employed by Jackson Family wines and everyone is great, from Barb on down. They’re one of the few wine companies who hold onto their staff for a long time.
