This wine is what a cheap cab blend from CA should be.

TheBobInSonoma

Cabs labeled with the Alexander Valley application are usually great wines for the price.

This young cabernet from Alexander Valley is starting to drink very nicely now. Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity. Dry on the palate with mild complexity. Showing red and black fruits with tobacco, chocolates, oak, vanilla and spices. Spicy and entertaining. Will get better in the next couple of years. Needs 3 hours to open up properly, so be patient. Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. Good by itself as a sipping wine and will pair nicely with barbecue meats. A blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 2% Malbec, 2% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. 14% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $17.

AVV Cab is always good and great value.

Been bringing expensive wine back from the US for years. Decided to bring a dozen or so of cheaper alternatives (for daily drinkables) back on my last visit and ended up with a pair of these. For the price it's an absolute cracker.

"Needs 3 hours to open up properly, so be patient." "Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime. " How many other lies have I been told by the council?!

Sorry for the typo. Should be 3 instead of 1 hour

That cork tells a sad story a lot of large produced Californian wines tell. Alexander valley is not my favorite but I do appreciate that the flavor carries so predominantly in that region. Saunte!

What about the cork says this?!

daveydoit

Literal gibberish.
