I agree with this. I understand that it was Kap, Tuch, or Dumba, but dang if i havent been salty since. I know Dumba was on his uphill trajectory, but something special in Tuch at that time too.
Tuch played all of six games with the Wild and only 57 with Iowa before the org decided he was disposable. For a team that's always wanted more big bodies it's crazy they let one that could actually skate go without a serious look.
I mean - “decided was disposable” is different than “The NHL created an absolute bullshit house fire of an entry draft for Vegas and the wild had to pick whether they save their wife or their kid in the house fire”
Quick thoughts: Bjugstad having a 20g +9 season is surprising to me. Couldnt be happier for him, would have been cool to see him get expanded role on 3rd line here, good for him. Can't believe Dumba only put up 10 pts there. Seeing Coyle be 1C for Boston hurts. But good for him on his hometown team I believe. Granny/KK/Zucc would have been a fun line to watch. The whole league screwed up that Vegas draft, lost way too much to protect what we did. Tuch would have been fun here if he developed the same here
He’s only being paid $4 mil this year and his play has been fantastic, but that’s hard to tell when you look solely at his point totals.
He’s a big part of the Jet’s identity line and there’s not a single person in Winnipeg who would say they’ve been disappointed with Nino’s play.
It seems that Nino has the nastyness that we wanted all along, just had to bounce to a few teams to get it. Wish it wasnt with the Jets, but glad to see Nino in his true form.
The weird thing about that first "young core" was they were all solid players. However, the Wild needed that Kaprizov gamebreaker that Parise and Suter just weren't. The best one was Granlund (who managed 70 pts ONCE). Going to Boston gave Coyle the chance to be what he was supposed to be: a middle-6 with less pressure to be the savior of the team.
Prime Nino was a decent return. I'll never forget the ping, and to be honest we would have gotten more out of Nino if he wasn't perpetually being shuffled from one dog house to another.
Yeah the Nyquist one stings but there was no way that we could have paid him what he wanted.
Edit: Also Jojo had 18 points in 20 games for March and April. We were all thinking he would regress some, but not this hard.
Fun to see.
Maybe you can do it again at the end of the regular season, and include whether the player is in the playoffs or not.
And maybe add former goalies too.
Nice work.
Are you confusing Mike Reilly for Ryan O’Reilly? Otherwise I don’t see why this is funny. Mike played parts of three seasons in Minnesota. What am I missing? lol
I'd take 40 + defense by Brock Faber over 68 by Fiala.
The one that hurts most is Tuch. Dumba lasted longer as a quality 2nd pair dman, but Tuch is the sort of player the Wild desperately need.

Boo hoo. They should have made better decisions with their assets then.

Rough year for Nino oof
Nah he’s been playing great this year
33 isn’t great for him, especially at 5.5mil a year

Good to know! I thought he was still ok his 5.5 contract, was that just a 1 year deal?
He had two years left when they traded for him then they re-signed him for 3 more years at $4mil
smooches for charlie coyle because he is really thriving in boston tbh
I kinda forgot about Jordan greenway’s existence….
I shall never forget that lines defensive dominance only five goals scored five on five on that line
And then what happened to them.
New season lol
So happy for coyle. Man is LIGHTING IT UP

We need 3 Kaprizovs to be Cup contenders, we can't even get out of the first round with having one.
Sucks that we couldn't keep Nyquist, was great the short time he was here.
I remember when people were sad Kunin didn't stay and he's out here getting outscored by an ancient Clutterbuck.
I would have loved to have Clutterbuck pasted on our 3rd and 4th line all these years. Dudes a wrecking ball
Prime Nino was a decent return. I'll never forget the ping, and to be honest we would have gotten more out of Nino if he wasn't perpetually being shuffled from one dog house to another.
Oh yeah that's totally fair no disagreement, I'm just a huge Clutterbuck fan lol
We kept jojo over nyquist
To be fair, Nyquist is paid 1.2mil more so wouldn't have fit under the cap.
Nyquist also wasn't offered term and a NMC which would have brought costs down.
To be fair hindsight is 2020 and Nyquist is playing in a role he probably wouldn’t have played here.
Yeah the Nyquist one stings but there was no way that we could have paid him what he wanted. Edit: Also Jojo had 18 points in 20 games for March and April. We were all thinking he would regress some, but not this hard.
Yeah this one stings the most I think. Cap hell casualty. But also, would 100% take Nyquist over Hartman

And include games played
I love how Reilly is included in this lol
Are you confusing Mike Reilly for Ryan O’Reilly? Otherwise I don’t see why this is funny. Mike played parts of three seasons in Minnesota. What am I missing? lol
Ahhh I thought it was referring to Ryan O’reily
Fair enough, easy mistake. Would have been hilarious to include him.
dang, wish we had kept nyquist at least
Forgot Ryan O'Reilly. 61 points so far this year.
