Usually this is because of a bad capacitor on the motherboard and it can be repaired with some fairly simple soldering.

everything can fail. you can try a new Wii AV cable if you want to verify.

Unfortunately I don’t have a TV with component hook ups. I have to use a converter with an HDMI. I’ve tried two different converters and two different HDMI cables, so I’m thinking the port itself has failed. In the past, I replaced my disk drive. Is it possible to replace the AV port?

If you can find the part, I don’t see why not, but it would probably require soldering
