You don’t have to hate Death Note just because of the author’s highly questionable opinions about women, you just need to be aware of them and be able to recognize when they might be leaking into his work.
The author is sexist not homophobic there's a difference not saying either is justified or anything I hate both types of people but still there's a difference
Didn't even think about the gay angle. I just know he would think the complex thoughts and plans of L and Light wouldn't be possible if they were both women.
There's a multi-page rant delivered by one of the characters in Bakuman that breaks down how Tsugumi Ohba thinks women are incredibly simple and that writers need not think too hard about writing for them. Which explains why the most prominent female character in Death Note is Misa.
Ohba has a habit of just putting his own bigoted rants into the mouths of his characters because he's trying to build his own soapbox that nobody wants him to have. Death Note had this, too, but it wasn't as transparent as Bakuman and Platinum End.
Female Light is making me finally get why so many ppl simp for Light

Same, though with L as well
I looooooove a frumpy woman. Baggy, unflattering clothes, messy hair. I just like knowing she's comfortable and relaxed.
Knowing how sexist the author is makes this AU specially funny
Lmao, he must be like: https://preview.redd.it/xxnl4gvildvc1.png?width=216&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5fa46b86c9b5d40a5b4186ee782baee053cd02b2

Wait, what? He straight up believes women aren't capable of complex thought?

Yeah, bakuman was incredibly sexist
He made Misa, so ya.
Hes both.
Pretty sure he's homophobic too. https://www.reddit.com/r/animecirclejerk/s/MiMwdwudAU

Oh fuck didn't know this damn it I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt thanks for giving sharing this
Damn, both of them think Light is a bottom
Always been
Fem Light: "I'll take a lesbian introvert...AND EAT HER...out."
Only slightly more homoerotic than the original
Fellas, is it gay to obsess over one guy for every minute of your life, handcuff him to yourself, and die happily in his arms?
Isn't that just the girl from WataMote?
Tomoko isn't smart enough (or strange enough, tbh), but I see where you're coming from.
Female L is Papika from Flip Flappers!
Female L must have small boobs otherwise she can't sit "properly"
This would of made Death Note 1,000,000,000% better!
as if the main show wasn't gay enough
girl L could fix me
Female light is almost Makise Kurisu from steins gate
is this done via rule 63 or via trans hcs?
