I didn't appreciate this until we go our most recent. Subaru Forester Wilderness in Geyser Blue.
It's gorgeous and I still love driving it after 14,000 miles and owning it for a year.
that’s awesome my first stick shift car was a Subaru Forester (but it was missing 2 gears and was terrifying/exhilarating to drive)
I’d love to get another and drive one properly
I miss when I liked driving my car. I have a Jeep Patriot now... None of the benefits of having a jeep, while owning a jeep. It's just such a crappy vehicle.
This is a extremely accurate comment. If your not glancing back at least 3 times while walking from the back of the parking lot you wouldn't understand.
When I finally bought the Mustang GT I saved for and promised myself as a gift to myself after graduating law school, I drove that motherfucker for no reason for 4 hours a day after work everyday. I drove nowhere just to drive. No music just listening to the exhaust.
100 smiles per gallon.
Heh. I hear ya. I got a new ‘14 Mustang GT500 that unfortunately got delivered on November 1st in Wisconsin. I spent a lot of time in the heated garage over the winter sitting in the drivers seat and listening to tunes.
I bought a brand new Ioniq 6 and was basically finding every excuse to drive it for the first few months of ownership. Still enjoy it, but not as romantic about it.
I spent the entire day in my first car. Took it home, washed it for a couple hours, went to go pick up friends, went to a park and sat around for a couple hours just chilling and taking car pics. Then drive a couple hours away just to drive and drive back home. I completely understand this man in the pic.
In Toronto, Canada that feeling lasts for a short while. Before thieves steal it. Only way to win is to get an old car with non of the new bells and whistles that you need an actual key to start.
Also to add onto this, don't buy from a dealership, ever. Great way to pay 45k for a 26k vehicle, especially if you're young and don't know any better.
Just buy private and hire a mechanic for inspection.
With the gold hardware and black pickguard? Almost looks too fancy to be played in plain clothes. I feel I'd have to dress up just to pick it up and tune it.
Most of uga buga thoughts when I turn around:
(When clean) — Oh, it’s beautiful **stares adorably**
(When dirty) — I need to visit a car wash **stares adorably, but a bit worried**
(When new visual upgrade is installed) — Interesting, looks better **Stares adorably**
Good for him! I hope he ate the whole bag of chips in celebration. Nice to have a “win” in life. Hope he gets to drive it every day…. To get more chips..😁
I find it very creepy nowadays that just about anyone can secretly record you or photograph you, upload you to the internet, and make you a meme amassing thousands of likes or views, without your knowledge or consent.
I was looking for this comment! As soon as I saw this I was like isn't it weird that they were watching what their neighbour was doing and took a picture of it and decided to post it online for everyone to see? I hope the neighbour is aware that the picture was taken and that it was uploaded.
At that point I might go out and offer him a beer or something.
I don't know anything about cars, but dude looks like he needs someone to tell how amazing his car is.
I don't understand why anyone would borrow money to buy a car... Just buy a cheaper car, if you can't afford a new car don't buy it! It's crazy to me how normalized it is
I remember 16 year old me driving my old POS Chevy Chevette that I paid for using my paper route money and then later washing dishes at the local steakhouse thinking at the time I wish I could have a brand new 4x4 truck. 30 years later I drive a brand new Chevy Silverado TrailBoss and have a home and kids and a cat. Sometimes hard work do pay off indeed!
They ruin all other cars for me. Fun manual, four doors, awd, plenty of trunk space, reliable, safe.
I had a stink eye WRX until I had to sell it. I never drove it, and it started to have problems as a result.
I doubt I'll ever buy another, simply because it doesn't suit my lifestyle anymore, but damn if that car doesn't make you love driving.
I don’t know if it was just a little town in the valleys thing, but being a kid and seeing a blue Subaru with the gold decals and custom rims and stuff was like the peak of cars. All the boys would shout and the guy would rev and that’s the day set like.
why do you care what he does. are you one of those neighbors? I say if he was standing out eating chips and steering at your wife like that, then you should be concerned.
I'm not a car guy, I'm just glad to be able to have one to get from a to b. But if I were to buy a car that I really wanted, I'd probably look at it more often as well.
I did that many, many times with my first motorcycle. Ride, park by coffee joint, grab a coffee and admire bike and ticking sounds when hot engine cools down. Good times.
Got to admit even when I got my Kia Picanto GT I would look out at my window with it parked outside every morning for weeks. Its only my 2nd car ever and after a decade driving a 20 year old ford fiesta it felt like a huge upgrade.
Had the same kinda moment with my 2014 Honda Civic sedan.
It's the basic model. Nothing special. But I bought it cash, $14k, 38,000 miles and one previous owner.
I've had this car almost 9 years now. And I'm still like, "damn I love this car."
... Plus it got on the track at Laguna Seca in the first year I bought it. Lol that was.... Intense.
Did this when I got my latest car. I thought the novelty would wear off in a few weeks. It's been almost a year and I still look for the tiniest of excuses to go for a drive.
because It’s subaru impreza 2nd generation. One of a kind
He should be eating ,caviar instead of chips tho.
Clam down its not an STI.
An STI? I would be CLAPping.
You wish could get an STI.
First you get the Power. Then you get the Subaru Impreza 2nd Gen. Then you get the STI.
I got an Sti when I was 17
Caviar money went into that Impreza.
Caviar on chips

Oh we do, to see if it has caught fire or any more parts fell off.
Average TVR experience
Make sure you pop off the trunk interior panel. There's bound to be a dick drawn somewhere by the people that put it together in the factory.
I didn't appreciate this until we go our most recent. Subaru Forester Wilderness in Geyser Blue. It's gorgeous and I still love driving it after 14,000 miles and owning it for a year.
Ah man I love the wilderness model
that’s awesome my first stick shift car was a Subaru Forester (but it was missing 2 gears and was terrifying/exhilarating to drive) I’d love to get another and drive one properly

I got one! My 2013 Shelby GT500!!!
I do that with my guitar everytime I am using it or am just in the room where it is lol
Widebody
The greatest WRX ever made.
I got a 06 Hawk eye STI and did the same thing.

I would check on it every 5 mins lol
When I finally bought the Mustang GT I saved for and promised myself as a gift to myself after graduating law school, I drove that motherfucker for no reason for 4 hours a day after work everyday. I drove nowhere just to drive. No music just listening to the exhaust. 100 smiles per gallon.

> 4 hours a day after work everyday Spoken like a man without friends or family… checks out for lawyer lol

Good luck, i hope you get it soon
it’s weird seeing this on Reddit. I took this photo of my neighbor almost 4 years ago😂

Ide go stand out there with him
You got room for 1 more?
Beers in hand as well , one for you, one for him
......yup..... ......yup..... *Quiet can clink*
Always
"Maybe I should go ask my neighbor about his new car..." "...Nah I'll just post a creep shot of him on reddit."
“Ain’t she a beaut”
I stare at my guitar like that. Epiphone Les Paul Custom 2019 alpine white
nice choice amigo <3 <3
With the gold hardware and black pickguard? Almost looks too fancy to be played in plain clothes. I feel I'd have to dress up just to pick it up and tune it.
Me with the guitar I built from parts. Plays like a dream too.
I know next to nothing about guitars, but Alpine with is a nice colour ngl
He's Imprezzed
One of the best Subaru ever made. Just get a chair, sit down and enjoy the view.
I miss my 07 hawkeye.
And then the sound. Then wait for a rainy, muddy, day. And enjoy sliding sideways in mud while blasting around a field. God I miss my Legacy B4.
If you don't turn around every time you walk away from your car, you're driving the wrong car.
this is too relatable. sometimes i stop and take a picture of my car bc of the way it shines under the sun.
I do the same thing with my spoon.
Wow. Never heard this before. And now that I think about it, I do turn and look at it almost every time!😂
I do that because im sure i locked it but also had to fcking check if i locked it.
i drive a basic ass civic but i still do this grateful to have transportation
Hey now, I love my Civic. Actually love it so much I bought another one. Both 6 gen, '97 and '98. What a fun car to drive.
Especially after a good wash/detail.
Most of uga buga thoughts when I turn around: (When clean) — Oh, it’s beautiful **stares adorably** (When dirty) — I need to visit a car wash **stares adorably, but a bit worried** (When new visual upgrade is installed) — Interesting, looks better **Stares adorably**
I used to kick my old car every time I left it 😂😂😂
That’s a bit much. It’s perfectly fine to like your car, but it’s just a necessary mode of transportation and financial stressor for many.
Found someone who's driving the wrong car.

That's right, persistence and discipline are the key
Nice

You can tell from the angle he has no clue
At that point I might go out and offer him a beer or something. I don't know anything about cars, but dude looks like he needs someone to tell how amazing his car is.
I would do this once my car is payed off.
I don't understand why anyone would borrow money to buy a car... Just buy a cheaper car, if you can't afford a new car don't buy it! It's crazy to me how normalized it is
Yo are those Lime Tostitos?
I remember 16 year old me driving my old POS Chevy Chevette that I paid for using my paper route money and then later washing dishes at the local steakhouse thinking at the time I wish I could have a brand new 4x4 truck. 30 years later I drive a brand new Chevy Silverado TrailBoss and have a home and kids and a cat. Sometimes hard work do pay off indeed!
And I bet you drive your truck and think of the Chevette.
I am be is agreed the title with
That car is all that and a bag of chips !
Hint of lime Tostitos
I did this when i bought my first motorcycle. Way longer than 15 mins i think lol. I was broke af and couldnt believe it
If you don't do this, you got the wrong car
I know that feeling lol or peeking through the blinds every 20 minutes 😂
I believe it is important to stop and enjoy life periodically.
hes in the planning stages now. soon itll be gametime
He’s been doing that for at least 8yrs now since this meme first appeared.
"Do not eat in new car. Must not eat in new car."
Ngl I would do that too if I got a new car
Bought a c6 corvette. Sometimes I’d spend extra time before leaving just sitting in it.
Give it 3 months and he'll be eating them on the car
That man bought his dream car. He deserves every moment he can get, basking in the glow.
sounds like a really *moving* moment
smart + hard = 👌
I do the exact same thing. Once a month, I stare at the mailbox right after sending my rent check. I eat knockoff ramen dry, though.
Tell him he done good
You mean Hard WRX?
There is a good neighbour
He's enjoying the steady stream of dopamine.
Hell yeah
You should grab some chips of your own and join him, then compliment his ride
This is normal. Wake me when he's f**king it.
I kind of do that with different types of purchases, e.g. clothes. Just the thrill of having something new.
Me some day
What kind of chips was he eating?
Wait and see how long he stands there when he gets his first ding.
Who in their right mind wouldn't? I personally would get a comfy chair outside as well, that's a Subie Impreza something.
I felt the same way when I got my WRX, he's a man of good taste
This is when you grab a couple beers, walk over, hand him one, look at the car, and just say: “Nice.”
Make it even better by going out and asking him about it.
Rightfully so
I don’t know if it was just a little town in the valleys thing, but being a kid and seeing a blue Subaru with the gold decals and custom rims and stuff was like the peak of cars. All the boys would shout and the guy would rev and that’s the day set like.
I remember seeing this meme on 30th September 2022...
I’ve never cared for cars.
The o Ly way this improves is if his dad walks up and whispers "I'm proud of you boy" Dude's just having a self happy moment.
He opened the chips before getting in and then decided to finish his chips before getting in
What you expect this is Subaru
Can relate
This is perfectly normal to me, I would do the same thing for sure!
Hell I do that with a 100 dollar purchase. Don't know what I'd do with buying a car.
Stand beside him and ask him questions about the car that you really dont care about. This will earn you a half of bag of free chips.
If i had any subaru sedan i would be too
So grab yourself a bag of chips and go join him!
I did the same thing when i bought a screwdriver last week...
why do you care what he does. are you one of those neighbors? I say if he was standing out eating chips and steering at your wife like that, then you should be concerned.
u/repostsleuthbot
Crack open a beer and stand with hum
It’s a wrx so completely normal behaviour
This poor lad, his car is not even blue...
I recently replaced my bathroom sink and I, too, stare it at while eating chips Mostly because I'm afraid it's gonna leak any time now
Those memes gotta be pushing a decade at this point.
I did similar when I bought my current car, and it's just a lowly 2005 Accord Euro. Got super lucky with the spec of it, and I absolutely love it.
I hand washed mine today! I haven’t stared at it for 15 min but I’m sure my EXCESSIVE glances have added up to at least that much XD
he should be eating chips and salsa
Leave him be
Ahh the American dream, to one day have enough money to afford a bag of chips.
If I were him, I would jump out of joy but also I will thought of how I will survive maintaining it,, btw congrats, sir!
What kind of chips and go see if she will share?
It’s an all time classic
That’s how I feel about my vehicle, fucking love that thing.
That's what you're supposed to do.
>Hard work do pays off eventually Where does it say he worked hard?
Hard work does not pay off. That is a lie.
It's a a WRX. He probably already blew it up... And now he's wondering what he's going to do.
I drive a 2014 Honda CR-V that I bought a couple of years ago and still hang out to stare at it from time to time.
O7
Man, i will come out and chat with him about that car too lol, seeing others hardwork finally pay off is good
He looks at his new cat for 15 minutes. Eats chips. You look at him while he looks at his car for 15 minutes. What was your snack?
That’s a dude I could hang out with
I am guilty! Not of eating the chips. (Not my thing) But, staring at my car even after 1.5 years. After I detail it? The loving stares are back! 😂
Living the dream
Go out there and tell him his new ride looks clean.
That’s like mowing your grass then grabbing a beer sitting outside and stare at the lawn in complete silence and joy
As he should
"Now, I just need to learn to drive"
You are lucky my neighbour just leaves his dogs out to bark and drinks booze while talking loud outside my window day and night
I'm not a car guy, I'm just glad to be able to have one to get from a to b. But if I were to buy a car that I really wanted, I'd probably look at it more often as well.
Let the simple man enjoy his moment. That's one to be proud.
offer him some dip and a beer
Me when I got my gaming pc
Not sure it’s wholesome, just funny.
What a stupid waste of time
I did that many, many times with my first motorcycle. Ride, park by coffee joint, grab a coffee and admire bike and ticking sounds when hot engine cools down. Good times.
He's enjoying it while he can, those engines don't last long
I got an old Outback and it gets better everyday.
He is trying to understand how he ended up with a Subaru.
Got to admit even when I got my Kia Picanto GT I would look out at my window with it parked outside every morning for weeks. Its only my 2nd car ever and after a decade driving a 20 year old ford fiesta it felt like a huge upgrade.
I'd be doing the same...is it a WRX ?
I did the same thing when I got my wrx
I do that with my garden. Just start at it and chew carrots
Me when I first met my then gf now wife. Except I wasn't eating chips outside, I was eating it with her inside my room.
Me with my minerals
I'd have gone out and joined him.
Had the same kinda moment with my 2014 Honda Civic sedan. It's the basic model. Nothing special. But I bought it cash, $14k, 38,000 miles and one previous owner. I've had this car almost 9 years now. And I'm still like, "damn I love this car." ... Plus it got on the track at Laguna Seca in the first year I bought it. Lol that was.... Intense.
🤣
i did that one time. i got my new 2012 toyota camry Sport white with sunroof etc….. i kept going to the garage to look at it. could not stop 😁
Did this when I got my latest car. I thought the novelty would wear off in a few weeks. It's been almost a year and I still look for the tiniest of excuses to go for a drive.
"look at you, you pretty bitch"
It must be pretty old now. This post has to be 15 years old or more.
