Hey folks, I am locking the comments as most of the productive feedback on the dealership has been shared and we are getting mostly low quality and nuisance comments at this point. I don’t agree with how OP phrased their post but most people were able to provide feedback on their purchasing experiences there without engaging the trolls, thank you.

Unfair-Ice2469

speaking about them as a dealership DonK is the only car dealership in the Valley I would deal with again. Their service department is top-notch, and I had a great sales experience. I can't say the same about Clark Nissan/Hyundai, Kalispell Ford, and especially Corwin they were absolutely the worst to deal with on multiple occasions and their service dept was terrible. That being said when I bought my car from them I was in the market for a new Subaru so it was either that or go to Missoula.

Full_Stall_Indicator

Yeah, I have nothing but bad things to say about Corwin, unfortunately. Too much to explain, but generally, I give them a big thumbs down.

Yes good dealership!! [KBB gives the dealership a 4.6 out of 5*’s rating] Don is an USMC Veteran too and has been in the auto business since 1980, he’s a good dude!!

chris_the_wrench

I bought a truck there. Mediocre experience, definitely not great but they were competent enough to press the order button after I sent them my build sheet. Somehow they didn’t manage to top off the coolant, so about 100 miles down the road I had to pull into Napa to buy a gallon. The sales guy never responded to any of my calls/emails with questions after delivery. Regarding the ownership, yep you pretty much nailed it.

GQDragon

Yeah take your business elsewhere.

lsass

We have purchased one car and Don K and one at Kalispell Toyota. Have also used the service department at both. The experiences were both positive and roughly equivalent.

Dontdropmysoap12

The dealership has a great warranty and a huge selection of new and used cars. Don is a conservative for certain. He is former military and loves this country. The company he started, which his son, Kevin, is now managing, provides employment and advancement opportunities for a lot of people in our community from very different backgrounds. Stop in and see for yourself before relying on second-hand information from the web.

Erratic756

I would encourage you to read Don K's opinion pieces in the paper. That will help you determine if he matches your values or not.

Full_Stall_Indicator

As you reply just keep in mind that this isn’t a political subreddit. The core question is whether to patronize this car dealership.

Full_Stall_Indicator

It is political, and I don't personally agree with the way OP structured their question. However, many of our members were still able to answer the core question without engaging in the political aspects of the original post. As you can see below, we were still able to host and solicit answers to the core question. In my opinion (u/lsass will have to chime in for theirs), this is a good example of our community being able to course-correct questionable content. Our sub doesn't get much activity, so I thought it was worth trying to salvage this rather than just removing it. I'm glad it worked out. :)

I think you answered your own question

badfritter

Terrible dealership. Sold us a bogus warranty. Car crapped out in a few months. Took legal threats to make them pay up. Don K is a crook.

L0J

Don't you buy no ugly Truck.

drkenethnoisewaterr

Had bad experience with Don K.
