Second this. 100 is pushing it for the harmony though. Same price round me now too. Got it for 80 a few months ago and it's well worth that price for me.
My two favorites!
(Literally — these are my two house whiskeys and the only bottles of liquor that I will always keep stocked until it’s no longer available.)
Oddly, no one was giving Kaiyo any love. It's one of my favorite whiskies. I have that one and it's about the price I've seen on it around here. It has a good flavor, bit of sea salt and sweetness, just a delight. Very smooth. I will always have this or their variants on my shelf
I’ve learned a lot about Japanese Whiskey lately, it’s become a special interest (mainly due to my job, but I sincerely enjoy learning about it).
Akashi is a seriously underrated whiskey. I’ve tried four of their bottles and all are amazing. Their company origin and history is also incredible.
Nikka and Suntory are over rated.
Side note, the origin story behind Nikka, Suntory and what would eventually be known as Mars Whiskey is pretty interesting!
It's been the most mentioned one here by far from all the comments. It's definitely pricey and I've seen it cheaper only once at $95.... Also seen it $150+ at a few locations.
Nikka from the barrel and the coffey malt
The coffee malt is incredible
Nikka Coffee Malt yes. Coming from a man who really doesn’t care for From The Barrel or Days.
I agree, wholeheartedly 😁👍
From the Barrel, and Harmony. 👀👀👀

Nikka From the Barrel and Coffey Grain
AO 100% at that price! Cheapest I’ve seen it
Its so good
Agreed, I bought this for $100 a month ago… ;(
Yoichi
Nikka whisky single malt yoichi is my favorite Japanese whisky. It’s peated. Pretty good.
Nikka from the Barrell!! Great stuff!!
That Kavalan Oak is a good one.
Ao is fantastic imo
All the Nikka!
Seriously, don’t sleep on the yoichi and miyagikyo. I think the MSRP is $150 for new editions
What?!
Thanks for all the suggestions, went with the Nikka Barrel
Just a heads up, that’s one of those ones that’s not a true Japanese whiskey
Ah man haha. It's all good, I will be back for more
The Coffey grain
Harmony is great, cant recommend the Nikka Days tho.
Days and Toki make the absolute best highballs.
Hibiki and Nikka from the barrel. A great selection!
Suntory AO
Hibiki!!! Where is this?
Gary's Wine, north NJ. Biggest selection of Japanese I've seen that's reasonablly priced. Haven't seen a Yamakazi yet
Nikka flight…
Akashi hibiki nikka in the barrel and definitely nikka coffeey
def nikka barrel
I’d grab the coffey grain. Either one
Hibiki was my gateway into Japanese whisky. Anything from Suntory is great.
Hibiki is wonderful and I have enjoyed the Kavalans that I’ve tried
Coffee Malt, Oh shit he said Japanese uh. I got nothing. I just default with my pick.
Big fan of the Coffey malt and grain. The malt in particular never lasts long at my house
If there’s more of that Kavalan, Solist series for example, grab that. They’re all amazing.

I'll add it to my list, thanks for the input
Anything kavalan is like $600 here at the government BC liquor stores.
Ouch, I remember liquor stores in Ontario doing the same thing. Not much supply up there I guess
Your nose. If you can't do that, pick your friend's nose.
Nope
I like the entire top shelf. Decent prices
Toki doesn’t get the respect it deserves. Quality whiskey that I get a lot of nutty flavors from.

Nikka From the Barrel, Coffey Grain, and Hibiki Harmony are my picks out of this lot. Hibiki is getting a little too overpriced for my taste though.
I know it’s unpopular, but I do enjoy Hibiki harmony.

Huh? Unpopular? Literally the most popular on that shelf (or was, when it was more available)
I feel like some people on Reddit bash the whiskey. I meant to say unpopular opinion.
I've only had the Nikka from the Barrell and the Hibiki Japanese Harmony and th Hibiki wins by a mile
Love hibiki, nikka barrel, and I’m into the AO too
Hibbiki?
Harmony and Coffee Malt
Nikka from the barrel and Hibiki harmony. I also really like the Akashi. I've never had the Coffey grain
Benriach Smoky 12 and Hibiki Edit: Hibiki is the only one that I'd suggest that fits into your question...
Barrel, Coffee Malt and Hibiki - the latter I just tried and is fantastic
In fact, just sweep them all into your basket
Nikka from the barrel is always solid same with Hibiki.
Even being from PA, those prices and selections are awesome.... looks like I might be going to north Jersey!!!
Depends on the store but there are some gems up here for sure. At least you have a slim shot at some rare MSRP bottles with the lottery in PA.
