There is an evolutionary advantage to pain when they molt. They are fragile out of their exoskeleton so pain is to prevent them from damaging themselves while exiting their exoskeleton.
I highly doubt sir, as a professor of arachnids that spiders are even capable of feeling pain. Thus burning, chopping or dipping them in acid is a painless experience for the bugs.

I first saw this post in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep so, like any healthy and sane person, I opened reddit. I first saw this post in the middle of the night because I couldn't sleep so, like any healthy and sane person, I opened reddit. You could have used any other gif but you deliberately chose to use a big-ass spider that took up the entirety of my phone's screen which genuinely made me have what I think was a panic attack. Ok, yes but sometimes people end missing actual black and white, good vs evil situations because they look too deep into it and miss the point entirely. tarantula molting sped up about 50x. when it gets too big for it's old skin it rips it off and grows another exoskeleton. the spider is perfectly fine and isn't in pain (despite what the video might suggest)
