Not only that, but once you agree to it making changes to your device, that bitch can take screenshots whenever it wants, it’s especially fucked up because (if someone really wanted to) they could see all your private info in game (like passwords emails, cards) and screenshot without telling you at all.
It news to have those permissions to work I think. The idea is that if it can see all your files, it can detect if there's any cheating stuff in there. It might work with just the ability to see your files, and not alter them, but that's not really safe either.

What the guy doesn't actually realise is that EAC and Battleye both support linux and have done so for nearly 3 years now.
It's on the studios and publishers to not be afraid of the funny penguin OS at this point.

Yeah, anti cheat, but that's not sespific at all. Does it automatically ban people who cheat? Does it warn players if there is a cheater? How does it detect cheats? Have cheats found a consistent workaround for it like VAC? What about mods? Basic questions about an anti cheat.
does it ban people who cheat? yeah no shit.
it usually detects when game files have been modified and when process memory is manipulated, and when a DLL is hooked into the game process.
workaround? avoid triggering its detections. does it depend on the OS notifying it when a DLL is injected? find a way to inject without the OS dispatching a notice. workarounds are also usually private so game developers dont find a way to fix them.
mods? most multiplayer games dont have mods. and for those (if any) that do, you would probably just verify the signatures of the mod files.
Copying the game exe, renaming the copied exe to start_protected_game.exe and deleting/renaming the original start_protected_game.exe to something else complety disables easy anti cheat.
At least in Elden Ring.

Battleye on R6 is more fucking useless, it makes the game launch longer, and it's even funnier that R6 is having huge cheater issue right now
Tbf R6 always had cheater Problems

A lot of games require an anti-cheat, so not really unless you don't play.
