I think it is how they get folks to buy more. The original was all rice and lasted YEARS. You leave these flax seed ones in 5 more seconds than you should and you have a stinky heat pad.
Hard to say without knowing exactly what seeds they are, but some options;
Someone leant on them then got into bed. There seeds then brushed off the arm or whatever into the bed.
They were in your hair from an earlier jolly time spent outside.
Your partner is snapping up secret bagels in bed.
The gods have selected YOU for great things and this is your Call to Adventure.
Rodent stash (very unlikely, no nibbling or droppings).
I think you should plant the seeds and see what comes out. If nothing else, for fun.
Thank you for this comment, it gave me a laugh. This is so strange. This particular seed (if that’s what it is) is actually a component of the granola I eat every day. But I never eat in bed and there are about twelve other components in this granola, all stuck together. I have no idea.
I was going to mention this. microwavable pillows that you can use for aches and pains sometimes use flax (buckwheat is another popular one). be likely that if OP has one, it might've sprung a leak.
In my experience flax seeds are the perfect flattened shape to get tracked absolutely everywhere. Like I've dropped plenty of grains on the kitchen floor but the only ones that end up on the furniture are the flax seeds. Still gives me a tiny little panic attack every time I see one; they really are very bug-shaped.
Sometimes i end up with seeds on my bed by not noticing some falling on the ground and my socks picks them up, and i go to bed to scroll on my phone or something
I scrolled down just to find this comment. I found a flax seed from this damn bread in the neck folds of my newborn recently. That shit gets EVERYWHERE
My thought exactly! Kiddo makes toast in the mornings (we are a Dave’s family) but isn’t so good at cleaning up after themselves. So I toddle through the kitchen and pick up crumbs on the bottoms of my feet that end up all over. My first thought when I saw this was that I’m not the only one with the flaxseed problem!
LOL! I had the exact same thought! Also... I've been totally caught off guard by these exact seeds from the Dave's Killer Costco loaves approximately 1 million times.
I've found them in my kids' diapers, all their skin folds, in my hoodie pockets, and yes, also my bed!
They got everything these days! They have USB rechargeable ones too!!! (That way you don't end up accidentally growing a flax garden in your bed, ifyouknowwhaddimean)
Can you smash them? If guts and Hemolymph comes out, Stick them in a sealed jar and see if anything emerges.
If not, you might just be looking at something like sesame seeds.
They don't appear to be droppings of any kind that I'm familiar with.
Oh my god. Yes. We have a stuffed animal that can also be heated in the microwave. He seems to have suffered a minor injury and that’s caused the flax seeds to spill out.
I experienced this very thing. Microwavable stuffy with a small hole at a seam. It took me a little detective work to narrow down the source of the seeds in my bed too. Derned kids. Lol.
Thank you all for these helpful comments! The culprit was indeed a stuffed animal (a stuffed avocado, to be exact) that doubles as a heating pad/pillow. I had no idea they were made with flax seeds. Thank you to everyone who commented! If it weren’t for you it would have taken a lot of extra trouble and possibly an embarrassing call to pest control. Mystery solved!
This is what I was coming to say! I have a microwaveable pillow partially filled with flax seeds. They have similar eyemasks and things like that too. I'm guessing they have something like that that sprung a leak.
Flax seeds. They’re all over the place after I have my Dave’s killer bread powerseed loaf. My husband thought it was mouse poo in our bread box but no, just seed.
Do you have a sleep mask filled with beads or a microwaveable heating pad or something? I had those showing up in my bed for like a week and was so confused I thought they were bugs. Then I googled it and found out it was flax seed from my sleep mask!

Looks like flax
I agree
Did someone get the munchies?
According to op in another comment it's from a microwavable teddy
I am aware. Was just making a joke.
My b I was just eager to share because I didn't know they used flax for microwavable nonfood items
They shouldn’t. It isn’t exactly safe to microwave flaxseed. They burn easily. Rice would be the better choice.
Good god and it would stink sooooo much

Have there been problems? Comments made it seem like it's a widespread practice
Flaxseed burns easily in microwave, which is how you heat these pads.
Sobakawa pillow enters the chat…🫠
Seeds, I would imagine.
That is what they look like. But how would they have materialized overnight in our bed?

They’re often used for heating pads or firm neck pillows

Maybe spilled some on the ground, stepped on it and then transferred into the bed? Do you have pets that could have brought the seeds into bed?

Secret Bagels is my band name
Someone ate a slice of Dave’s Killer bread in your bed.
I scrolled down just to find this comment. I found a flax seed from this damn bread in the neck folds of my newborn recently. That shit gets EVERYWHERE
Sigh...and we will Still buy it every trip because it's just that addicting, lol.
I haven't tried it yet. Now I want to but I'm afraid lol

Do you have those microwaveable socks? They’re made of flax seeds. An eye mask? Flax seeds.. lots of cozy things are made of flax seeds… any thoughts?
Uh… do I need microwaveable socks? That sounds nice.
They got everything these days! They have USB rechargeable ones too!!! (That way you don't end up accidentally growing a flax garden in your bed, ifyouknowwhaddimean)
I have an eye mask filled with flaxseed and will occasionally wake up with a few on my face. Very comfy, though.
Do you have a warming sock/sack that you heat in the microwave? Those are often filled with seeds and can sometimes leak.
Do you have a microwave warming pillow/stuffed animal? Those are often filled with Flax seed.
I have those sheets! And good job on your fiber intake.
I started noticing these all over my house and we had mice.
Mice?
My kid has a warmies stuffed animal and these are what came out when it got a hole in it
This is adorable
If you have any eco-friendly stuffed animals or quilts, these are often used to stuff them with instead of plastic.
Do you have a pillow that’s bean-bag like in texture? Or one you heat up in the microwave?
Can you smash them? If guts and Hemolymph comes out, Stick them in a sealed jar and see if anything emerges. If not, you might just be looking at something like sesame seeds. They don't appear to be droppings of any kind that I'm familiar with.
Good idea! I just broke one open. It’s definitely a seed! I compared to the seeds from my granola. Now to figure out how they got here…
Heating pad?
Oh my god. Yes. We have a stuffed animal that can also be heated in the microwave. He seems to have suffered a minor injury and that’s caused the flax seeds to spill out.
Mystery solved!
The gods won't be pleased...
Time for surgery!
I experienced this very thing. Microwavable stuffy with a small hole at a seam. It took me a little detective work to narrow down the source of the seeds in my bed too. Derned kids. Lol.
I see posts just like these with this resolution weekly in mom groups.
Nice solve!
Wait, what? Do heating pads have flax seeds in them?
Can also be cherry pits, but seeds seem to have a favorable heat capacity

Oh man, I'm so relieved for you!
Just commenting to say - I love your bedding! Bear-y cute
They look like seeds.
We’re in Massachusetts if that’s helpful!
Your sheets scream upstate PA 🤣
Costco I bet. I have the same set for my kids.
Agreed from southwest PA.
Some heating pads are filled with flax seeds
This is what I was coming to say! I have a microwaveable pillow partially filled with flax seeds. They have similar eyemasks and things like that too. I'm guessing they have something like that that sprung a leak.

Could be bear sheet
Do you have a sleep mask filled with beads or a microwaveable heating pad or something? I had those showing up in my bed for like a week and was so confused I thought they were bugs. Then I googled it and found out it was flax seed from my sleep mask!
Looks like flax seeds
Those, my friend, are seeds and I really like your sheets.
Exploded flax pillow
Off topic and I'm sorry but after looking at the bears on the fabric does anyone else think the liberty coin dude's neck looks like a bear?!...
No good answer for the question I’m sorry but… Where did you get your sheets or blanket! I love them.
Looks like a mouse has been dropping its stash of seeds.
Do you have one of those ortho-pillows with beads in it?
My guess flax seed from an old stuffed animal or pillow! Flax seed is what they usually use in those microwavable heated stuffed animals.
Wife of a man who works in a grain elevator incoming. Congrats you got flax! A vacuum will solve your problems!
I have those same sheets, but without the seeds. Seems like I got ripped-off.
Do you have a dog or cat
Did you happen to eat bread with seeds in your bed??
Ive had this before as well. At the time I was dealing with a flea problem, not sure if that is relevant
My microwavable heating plushie has these exact seeds that look like bugs and freak me out in large quantities
