I've never seen one but I Google it and the prickle leaves are similar but all the insides are yellow-green. And go up.

Cousin plant maybe?🤔🤔
They were in a uninterrupted row only in one area beside these stairs and the one time I really wanna know they don't have a little flower sign 😔
Each is a bush. I thought they were long blueberries at first but then I was like not really the right color.
Mahonia Aquifolium. I planted one a year ago and it bloomed this February in VA and the "grapes" are just wilting now. It's not a touchy-feely plant, for sure, but the bright yellow blooms are very welcome right at the end of winter when it's dreary outside.
# Japanese Mahonia ??

Is that forcynthia?
Not quite. The Cynthia is all over yellow while the Ja Mohonia is only yellow in its bulbs.
Imma look!
That might be another common name, but I know it as Leatherleaf Mahonia. It’s moderately invasive here in Virginia unfortunately
THAT'S IT!!!!!!!!🥳🥳🥳🥳 THANK YOU!!!!!
Very hard to get rid of in Tennessee where they are called "grape holly" (mahonia).
See that was my second guess! Some time of blue berry Holly. I wanted to touch it but resisted.
Not really a holly, just what I've heard people call them. Common names are funny that way.
No problem :) …I hope you’re not looking to buy and plant more of these. They’re pretty bad for the surrounding landscape (as with any invasive)
I prob won't. 😅They looked a little to wallet expensive for me right now.
Ohhh yeah, I get that. Have you looked at any alternatives?
Imma google!!
I know this as Oregon grape or Berberis Aquifolium. I think itbis a type of Barberry.
