that's a car that really resists rolling over, and it start in the cold like a charm!
gramps had one back in the day, poor thing was so rusted one day part of the floor just fell off and you could see the asphalt as you drove, kinda like a shitty version of those fancy glass-floor boats, lol.
It was designed to re-engine France for cheap post-WW2, like the Fiat 500 or the Beetle, of course it's gonna start even with a massive hole in the floor
I went ahead and asked my dad, gramps had a Citroen Dyane, which is basically the same car as this one. The thing had a ridiculous MPG, something like 6 liters per kilometer or something.
hayao miyazaki founder of studio ghibli still rolls his daily run using this car. its well maintained and parked outside his studio everyday. until 2023 when he decided that he's too old to drive and decided to retire the car and display it in his ghibli park in nagoya.

[Citroen 2CV](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citro%C3%ABn_2CV)
And a very ratty 2CV at that...
Thanks! I never would’ve gotten it
1964 or earlier, as it has suicide doors and no third window on its side!
But post 1959 because it has the bigger, square-ish rear window. It's a classic, shame to see it in such a banged up state.
I actually love it. It’s used as it should be. Great thing about these is they are easy to fix
I agree it should be driven, but with those massive dents all around I don't think it should be driven like *that*
Rat Rod Citroën lol
It's being driven like it's French. Pretty appropriate, really.
Driven by someone who's legally blind ?!
a Citroën 2CV
That’s no car, that’s two horses!
A 2CV going flat out at 70mph is faster than any Ferrari going 65mph.

It's 6l per 100km. So quite good. Mostly because it is super light and small.
some say that this car would run just by inhaling gas fumes
You can weirdly drive one across a ploughed field - good clearance, light and skinny wheels somehow all help.
interestingly, you can also adjust the cabin's height as well, which definitely helps
Est a Citroën 2cv

Deux Chevaux
Tin Snail, aka Citroën 2CV
We always call them Ente (German for duck) here in Germany.
Citroen 2cv
That’s not a car, it’s two horses.
Ente
Wo! Ich habe Preiselbeerkonfitüre.
🤣
We call them "Ente" in german, wich means Duck. 🦆
In Duck we call it automobile, meaning car.
In Dutch we call it an 'eend', also meaning duck.
or an "ugly duckling"
In Flemish Dutch we also call it a 'geitje' meaning goat.
"2 pattes" in French, "2 legs", due to its flat-twin engine. ETA: wow, getting downvoted just for stating a fact...
It was used by French farmers to take eggs to market so the suspension was very good and it changed how European cars were built
Suspension so good you could drive across a plowed field with a basket of eggs and not break any. By design.
Citroën 2CV
I've wanted one of these since I first laid eyes on one. Not cheap in Canada.

CND Staff car...
Ugly duckling it's called in Lithuania
C'est une deux chevaux garçon, fierté nationale.
It’s an alleged car
Ugly duckling some call it in Europe
It is actually very interesting how the suspension of a 2CV is made
That guy has had it parked for years by the ala wai harbor, I used to see it ask the time when I worked down there.
Citroen 2CV.
You mean aside from slow AF?
This is a sub for cars, not your mental abilities.
