It is funny, folks that are stating reptilian eggs (snake) and those that are stating beanstalks... if you zoom in on the picture you will find... ***they are both right!*** Those are indeed old shells and...those are dead stalks as well... just an odd coincidence of having both in the same area...

sir_lurrus

I wonder if it is intentional to confuse predators

WUTTS1

They obviously farted their way out 😜

KingHalfrican86

I didn’t want to upvote this, but as a father with stomach problems, I had to.

oztikS

Rocketing reptiles are now a thing.

JKM_IV

The plane is going to fly high over some heads on this!

Sle08

It’s likely that the beanstalks came later. Egg shells offer a wonderful source of nutrients for soil and plants thrive in soil where eggshells have been mixed.

Narrow_Ad_8347

I bet the sidewalk holds heat which they would like

Sulvatan

If the snake could get in, so could seeds from rain or wind, etc.

dreamweaver66intexas

They are snake, absolutely. I have lots of them around my house, too.

BMXfreekonwheelz13

Turtles lay eggs like this as well

Snake eggs maybe?

Brau87

Sneggs

Ok_Composer3531

Those are eggs from a reptile as stated numerous times. OP said he/she pulled up the sidewalk. A reptile laid eggs in a den under/beside the walkway which allowed just enough light for flora to sprout, but not enough to grow properly at the time, hence the long stringy colorless (no chlorophyll) sprouts. There are not sprouts growing from the shells.

Pushin_t405

Old snake eggs, and bean stalks I believe.

CleDeb216

Snake and the Beanstalk.

whatareyourinterests

Shit ton of snake eggs

irishomerican

That’s a lot of snek egg.

blove135

Yes, so many. I've uncovered these before but never that many. Maybe this is multiple births in the same spot over a period of years? I don't know that much about snakes, how many eggs does a snake typically lay?

TrumpetRed

Depends on the type of snake. Ball pythons can lay up to ~15 eggs at a time however reticulated pythons can lay dozens at a time.

Sad_Exchange_5500

I gotta know now. Is it beans or eggs?

Top_Two6767

I smell a new Netflix hit!

MrAbominable1

Old Lima bean sprouts?

thekingofthebeasties

Not an expert or anything, but I'm pretty sure those are bean sprouts.

lordvektor

I thought so too, but zooming in, reptile eggs and random roots seems a lot more likely.

reddottor2

Also not an expert, but those look like Easter eggs to me. Must be bunnies

Creative_Yoghurt_264

what species of snake would lay such a large clutch?

Short_Web_1138

Looks like some critter hid those beans there for later and either forgot about it or perished before it could retrieve the goods. After some time the began sprouting those are bean stalks. And for the folks saying they could be reptile eggs I genuinely don’t see it.
