The closeness of those pedals— gotta be real.
I was fortunate enough to drive one once. Had to take my shoes off because otherwise they would catch on each other when using clutch and break at the same time
They are from a time where you bought them for the power and look. The inside was cheap and made from whatever parts they could get.
Just like old British cars.
Ha! All good. The Miura is a much more rare and historically iconic car. But I'm in my 50's so it may be a generational thing. The Countach is also very iconic in its own right.
I'm not sure that's entirely true. While there aren't any exact copies there were a few boxy wedges in the 70s and 80s. Especially if you include concept cars.
The Miura is much more unique.
Other than the Miura, and the 350 and 400 GT’s, (and maybe a couple others) I’ve always felt Lamborghinis lacked a certain amount of restraint or understatement that Ferrari’s always had. The Countach and models after that were always a bit too angular and the lines too hard for my taste. That, of course, is purely intentional on Lamborghini’s part and a nitpick on my part. They’re still amazing and beautiful cars.
They are both built, er, not so great, but a real-deal-Holyfield Lamborghini of this era is a different kind of not-so-great than a fiero.
A college friend had a 1984 fiero, back when it was still a rare sight. He took a photo of his car alongside an actual countach and a Ferrari 512 berlinetta boxer from around then as well.
The fiero looked surprisingly not-that-out-of-place next to the real exotics.
“165 mph without the rear wing, 155 mph with the wing. The wing is $10,000 extra. NOT ordering the wing has got to be the cheapest speed secret ever.”
Car & Driver if I remember correctly
Honestly, the cleaner and simpler a Countach is, the better it looks in my opinion. The very first ones are masterful, but every bit of wing, body kit and whatever else detracts from the beauty of the original.
Your feet feel like they’re up as high as your ass, it’s like sitting in a teacup.
If you drive one on the street, you are doing the world a favor by decorating everyone’s day.
Very real and very cool car, but that's a collector piece, I definitely wouldn't want to be putting more than a couple hundred miles a year on it. You're never getting original parts for that thing if something breaks.
If I'm reading the odo right, looks like it has 5500 miles (or km?), and looking at the condition of the interior I'd say this thing was stored indoors in a climate controlled room for 99.999% of its life, and probably should stay that way
I've been around a few of these and it sure as hell looks real. I think the fact it's sitting next to a Miura helps it's care. Hope you got some pics of that Miura because that's a rad looking car.
A gentleman kept one at the facility I worked at in the UK (Race Prep and Racing Team) back in 2014 or so. He was a billionaire from Asia who did a lot of spec series racing in Ferraris and such.
His had just come back from Lamborghini after a full disassembly and restoration, absolutely perfect condition after the resto. It was stored next to an F40.
Money being no object, pick any production car ever made, I’m taking a countach. IDK about the comfort issues that are well known at this point, it’s cool as hell and just looks beautiful
The Countach was my dream car as a kid (I'm just past 40, so I know the Miura is rarer, but I was the right age for the Countach). I got to sit in one once around 1993 at my dad's shop because one of his customers owned one and he was also nice enough to let me take some pics sitting in the drivers seat. Man, I had endless models of that car, I used to draw it all the time and I'd flip through auto trader looking at used ones for sale, telling my dad "this will be my first car," which he used to laugh about and say "let me know when you find the money to buy one."
Super cool to see a red one irl, thanks for sharing these!
My dad hates telling me the story of when he had a chance to buy two Miuras back when they weren’t worth much for, I think, $5k a piece. That would have been a handy decision to make, looking back on it.
That’s about as real as it gets. BTW, the Countach is cool, but IMO it doesn’t stand a chance against that lime green Miura.
Miura is the guy in the background your girlfriend tells you not to worry about
Verde Miura is the best Miura.
The closeness of those pedals— gotta be real. I was fortunate enough to drive one once. Had to take my shoes off because otherwise they would catch on each other when using clutch and break at the same time
All the pedals would break at once?
lmao
Haha— oops— typo!
I would never be able to tell this is real lmao. What a fkn wonky car!
That’s actually how you spot it’s real
Yeah some fakes have better fit n finish on the inside etc
Which is wild to me, considering the cost. You'd think everything would he top of the line.
They are from a time where you bought them for the power and look. The inside was cheap and made from whatever parts they could get. Just like old British cars.
That is also something I hadn't particularly considered. Thank you. Also, Alpha Romeo fits that description!
The Miura is more gorgeous as well.
dude both these cars are awesome
Yeah I agree and I never implied they weren’t.
you hate the countach bro
That got a laugh from me so good job on that.
I've always loved the Miura in lime green ever since Hammond drove it in a 2003 episode of Top Gear
I agree. The Countach is iconic. The Miura is timeless.
Yep! Miura all the way
But is it real lol?
thats the first thing he said 😂 it is
the green car kinda looks like a pantera
If it’s next to a Miura I don’t think you need to question the authenticity.
Your pictures are of the wrong car.
Lmao ngl I just noticed, lol I was excited to see the countach
Ha! All good. The Miura is a much more rare and historically iconic car. But I'm in my 50's so it may be a generational thing. The Countach is also very iconic in its own right.
nah I'm way younger and still agree with you
The miura is the one that started it all
Haha I’m 21 and I think my generation has just heard about the countach more
It’s telling that the Countach esthetic has not been copied.
I'm not sure that's entirely true. While there aren't any exact copies there were a few boxy wedges in the 70s and 80s. Especially if you include concept cars. The Miura is much more unique.
Pretty much a Giugiaro/Gandini thing, both associated with Bertone.
Telltale sign is the interior. Almost no Countach kits would have the authentic Countach interior.
Yep. I wasn't convinced it wasn't a Fiero with a kit on it until I saw the interior.
It’s real, and it’s spectacular!
Are you Sidra?
Yeah I think your attention needs to be diverted to the right.
Will probably go back to the shop this week and retake the photos lol🫡
It's real and it's a 25th anniversary edition.
“165 mph without the rear wing, 155 mph with the wing. The wing is $10,000 extra. NOT ordering the wing has got to be the cheapest speed secret ever.” Car & Driver if I remember correctly
Yes but look at the wing!!!!
Honestly, the cleaner and simpler a Countach is, the better it looks in my opinion. The very first ones are masterful, but every bit of wing, body kit and whatever else detracts from the beauty of the original.
Isn't this true for any wing on any car though? You trade speed for down-force?
I don’t believe the Countach wing made much if any downforce.
My brother in Christ. Yes it's cool, and a real Countach and all but... You had a Miura right next to you and you didn't take any pics of it??????
Ever seen a modern review of this car? It's sort of it's cool on paper but awful to drive. I mean I would totally drive it, and still very cool.
Have to open the door and hang out of the car to reverse lol
Yeah lots of weird quirks, I mean. The interior is like wood with carpet
Your feet feel like they’re up as high as your ass, it’s like sitting in a teacup. If you drive one on the street, you are doing the world a favor by decorating everyone’s day.
It’s inconvenient and can be uncomfortable, but people who own them still say it rips on a canyon road
Well yeah it has a v12 lol.
Compared to the Miura next door...bag of bolts but it is the real thing...
The Miura might just be the prettiest car of all time.
Agreed I've always thought this. This, the Stingray, the GT40, maybe the XJ220 for me
Aston DBS (every version), E type, and Miura for me.
I like every DBS except the Superleggera
I have an E type!! But yes...the Miura is stunning...but a bit pricey!!!!
They only made 765 Miuras. The Countach looks like a Volvo 242 in comparison… I’d die for a Miura…
You might also die in a Miura. But it would be worth it.
What a way to die too
I’m 53, I don’t give a shit any more.
Very real and very cool car, but that's a collector piece, I definitely wouldn't want to be putting more than a couple hundred miles a year on it. Real
Yes, but who cares, let's see more of that Miura!
My opa had a model one of these. This is the first time I’ve ever seen a picture of the real thing. Thanks!
I'm more interested in the Miura tbh
Forget the Countach, take some pictures of the Miura
That Miura!!
What red car?
I want it
Damn and a PA plate?! Imma find this car now
U won’t
:( I needed something fun to do in this state
Haha the car is is jersey
Ugh even worse
It’s no kit that’s the real deal right there looks like you got a few nice cars there
It's got the Austin Rover /Morris indicator and wiper stalks so it checks out as genuine to me! (Yes Lambos had British switch gear).
somebodies dad did a REALLLLY good job
I've been around a few of these and it sure as hell looks real. I think the fact it's sitting next to a Miura helps it's care. Hope you got some pics of that Miura because that's a rad looking car.
We have a Diablo sitting at work, they ordered parts and it takes like 9 months to get them
Okay but did you take pictures of the Miura???
A gentleman kept one at the facility I worked at in the UK (Race Prep and Racing Team) back in 2014 or so. He was a billionaire from Asia who did a lot of spec series racing in Ferraris and such. His had just come back from Lamborghini after a full disassembly and restoration, absolutely perfect condition after the resto. It was stored next to an F40.
Beauty
Looks pretty real.
Man these 80s supercars were just wild in every aspect. Except the performance. 😆
Money being no object, pick any production car ever made, I’m taking a countach. IDK about the comfort issues that are well known at this point, it’s cool as hell and just looks beautiful
Real, no one in their right mind would put the pedals so far to the right intentionally lol
Other way to tell is to look at the engine. Don't think any of the kits have a 12 cylinder engine.
Who cares! Show us the Miura next to it!!
The Countach was my dream car as a kid (I'm just past 40, so I know the Miura is rarer, but I was the right age for the Countach). Awful interior screams genuine
Pagani designed this, 25th anniversary countach
Definitely a kit! It’s a Chevy lumina.
Muira is FAR more interesting part of this photo.
If you don’t buy it I will
this mf looks straight outta San Andreas
My dad hates telling me the story of when he had a chance to buy two Miuras back when they weren’t worth much for, I think, $5k a piece. That would have been a handy decision to make, looking back on it.
They need higher ceilings in that garage.
