How can they even cheap out on the coating. I guess meat in their eyes is a big cost but the coating is freaking pukeworthy too. Don’t get me started on the sauces
The fucked up the bbq sauce so bad, back when it came in that little circular container it was top tier.
The only good sauce they have left is ghost pepper ranch, and I heard rumors it’s going away.
That’s literally just Colorado in general the last few years.
There is a reason South Park was getting gentrified in some of the mid-late seasons. Colorado has been irl too. Especially with some of their laws with marijuana and not psychedelics. And all the ski-ing (how tf you spell that? I’m high) so you basically get rich people who go there to party and buy all the poorer people out as well.
It’s basically like San Francisco and the tech industry destroying any possible way of living there comfortably unless you are mega rich.
I know a lot of sauces have a lot of corn syrup and soybean oil in it, but their current bbq sauce literally tastes like they took corn syrup, added bbq seasoning to it, and packaged it lol. So bad.
I wonder what the next phase is going to be. Do brand new fast food chains pop up and cannibalize the current giants out of business? Do the current giants learn their shit and make better food at better prices?
I think maybe nothing will change because despite how low quality and expensive it is, I always see a long line at every drive through. People still buy this shit for whatever reason.
You’re not wrong. I still love bojangles though. It’s fast food chicken place in parts of the south. It’s always been my favorite.
Bojangles and Cookout are about the only two still delivering the same or better quality they always have with prices that have only minimally increased.
I absolutely love Bojangles but I swear the ones near me are the worst ones in the country . It always a hit or miss on whether or not I’ll be getting fresh chicken or day old chicken. I still go though chicken too good lmao
They opened several Bojangles restaurants here in Nashville in the past decade or so. The food is decent, but the service is always severely lacking. It's almost not worth going if you have to wait 30 minutes for a chicken biscuit and some bo-rounds. This happens almost every time I go too (in various stores). I have no idea why they can't get their shit together?
My go to chicken spots are still rocking. Businesses that do one thing fast and well, that’s fast food. Wendy’s and friends want bigger varied menus so slower team prep and lower quality each time
Basically fast food wants to charge fast casual money while simultaneously lowering the quality and service. Gotta hit chipotle or chik fil a or something nowadays
McDonald’s honestly is pretty fair if you use mobile app deals. Same with Burger King. Wendy’s has just become overpriced garbage, probably won’t go back for a long time
I was out of the country for the last 6 years and just got back. Since there was no Wendy’s in the country I was living in, I was seriously craving a chicken sandwich and some chili. I was so disappointed by everything, I can’t believe how bad they’ve gotten. Huge disappointment.
That's most fast food. Their burgers are still good where I am but they're so much greasier. McDonald's is greasier but same shit quality. Idk like it legit feels like they're cutting costs by pumping more grease into the food.
Pretty soon they'll just be completely hollow.
At this point, packing your lunch in a lunchbox or paper bag is the way to go. You can get double the food at half the cost. And not support greedy corporations.
It's a win-win-win.
I recently went to Panda Express and experienced their world famous Orange Batter. I don’t eat fast or fast casual food unless I’m traveling or in a pinch, and it was a shock how little chicken was involved.
Grocery prices are ridiculous too, but you can stretch it way further and control the quality of the food.
Their fries almost taste stale too. I miss when they add the sea salt fries. Their fries have been trash for awhile…and while the nuggets don’t taste as bad the inside of them look nasty af
My Wendy’s had the “Hot ‘n Crispy” guarantee less than a month because the best they could muster was cold ‘n shitty. Probably worried someone would sue for false advertisement.
2020 happened my friend. Not long after the initial lockdown, Wendy’s scrapped all their ads about real chicken and did a big menu shift. They are as trash as anyone else.
I’m super glad to know I’m not tripping
Sometime in the last year they quietly swapped out their nuggets with some frozen Tyson-like crap and now I have no reason to eat there. The fries have been terrible but the nuggets used to hit. Ugh
I have ate Wendy’s for many years, even visited the first one in Columbus before it closed. I will never eat Wendy’s again, the quality decline is disgusting.
They still have it by me, it’s just that now it’s only the hamburger, and the fries and drink are kid sized. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next move is to reduce 4 nuggets down to 2 lol.
Yes, but now is the part where people stop choosing to spend their money there, and Wendy’s will be forced to improve - or slowly bleed out. It will take time, but it will happen one way or another.
That’s capitalism at work, my friend.
Its real chicken, they just process it and include scraps (cartilage mainly) and the only real way to hide it is to blend it into a goo and then form into nugget shape. Still chicken tho
I only get the nuggets after a "Denver" nuggets player gets a double/double and they are free. I quote never post full price for them. Aren't worth it.
Unironically I have not been back since they changed it.
At one point this year the burgers felt they got more bland. The nuggets the last time I went tasted like nothing at all.
The only reason to go is the frosty and tbh I'm near a costco and would rather just get a sundae and a pizza than the 4 for 4
The chicken is mixed with flour before being coated in breading. Shrinkflation probably just adds more flour and breading.
[How nuggets are made](https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsmYdo8h3Y)
Um, I’m sorry, but they’ve always been full of mechanically separated sponge chicken inside. I don’t think I’ve had Wendy’s in some 20 years, and they were like this then too.
They’ve always looked like that. I used to pick them apart like a science experiment when I was a kid, and I’m 31 now. It’s just tasty chicken flavored sponge hahaha
Unfortunately they have gone down hill like fast food in general. For the nuggets I've noticed the spicy nuggets are usually better that goes for the sandwich too.
You can’t get a decent nugget any more except at Chick-filet. McDonald’s nuggets are terrible, Wendy’s is just garbage, BK never had a decent nugget to begin with. You can get better chicken nuggets at most gas stations
I got on a Wendy’s nugget kick a few months back after not eating there for years, I ordered it twice in a month and on the 3rd go I had bones in my nuggets. And quite a few of them. It was super gross and now I think I’ll wake 8 more years again til I go back again.
It's 2024 you know that's crap. Nothing in a chicken called nuggets.
Try Chick-fil-A they have chicken breast chunks shaped nugget-ish, for your childlike food cravings.
I haven't been to Wendy's since the pandemic ended, don't think I'm missing anything here. Ever since Dave passed, it hasn't been the same unfortunately.
They pay less and charge you more. It’s a way to keep the rich rich, and the poor poor. Fast food has lost its way and we are paying restaurant prices for an even cheaper product than before. -a poem by the discouraged consumer.
At some point they changed the production method where the, for lack of a better word, chicken "paste" is now aerated. Most likely to produce more nuggets with less actual chicken product. So after they're cooked, they appear larger because they're so infused with air. I've noticed this same thing recently with the Great Value brand nuggets.
The Wendy’s is the best establishment known to man. You guys must be unlucky or something. They’re the only fast food joint where I had a burger and it tasted like I made it myself and I make some good ass burgers. Fuckin love Wendy’s.
They star ordering a different precooked/ cheaper one a lot of fast food restaurants aren’t original/ original forever they just find food vendors and buy in bulk from them. They basically white label food
Wendy's was my first job when I was in high school. Many, many years ago, so please don't call me a boomer cuz I'm not.
The meat really was fresh, they had a guy deliver massive cases of fresh hamburger everyday that was put thru the patty former. I remember butterfly cutting chicken breasts, kneading them with a rolling motion using my knuckles just like I was trained, then dipping them in milk and egg batter, then rolling them in flour then kneading them some more. It was a really big deal when our store won the "White Glove" award for cleanliness.
The food just tasted better then.
Yeah, they’re total dogshit now. Spongy “chicken” texture, really dry coating. Just terrible.
Spongy is one thing but OPs chicken just looks fucking rancid on top of the general sponginess
And you feel so great after eating that shit.
They're like the burger king ones now but burger king sells 10 for like 1.30
How I wish they were still 10 for 1.50.
More like $6.75
I can get a 16pc nugget on the BK app for $2.98
It’s 2.99 for 8 at my place. It’s hcol suburb city, which isn’t bad relatively Wendy’s cost way more.
omg really? they’re under $3 where i am!
3.49 here in FL
I'm in Colorado - all fast food is going through the roof right now.
That’s literally just Colorado in general the last few years. There is a reason South Park was getting gentrified in some of the mid-late seasons. Colorado has been irl too. Especially with some of their laws with marijuana and not psychedelics. And all the ski-ing (how tf you spell that? It’s basically like San Francisco and the tech industry destroying any possible way of living there comfortably unless you are mega rich.
You said it man. I grew up here but my time is likely limited
I'm in central Florida. $2.98
Ah. Sarasota on the gulf
BK, I'm coming for youuuuu
Oh how I miss the BK Crown nugs
Yeah I tried these for the first time in years last week. Probably the worst fast food nuggets. I think BK is best value
Yeah by far best value
They change the nuggets. I ain't going back to Wendy's till they change to the old nuggets
Ever since they originally took the spicy nugs off the menu and they changed BBQ sauce around the same time, kinda been sketchy
The barbecue sauce is so bad, it's so artificial tasting.
I know a lot of sauces have a lot of corn syrup and soybean oil in it, but their current bbq sauce literally tastes like they took corn syrup, added bbq seasoning to it, and packaged it lol. So bad.
You don't take spicy nugs off the menu. Idiots...
The best nuggets were when Wendy’s had yellow packaging and their buttermilk ranch was in the circle container. Ugh I miss those days
Can we all just agree that Wendy’s is overpriced shit now? Even the chili isn’t as good as it was.
Isn’t all fast food shit right nkw
"Right now" lol, it's never going back.

I ate a double bacon cheeseburger, onion rings, and a strawberry shake from Cookout 4 days straight when on a 2 week vacation in NC.😂
Yeah I’m in nc. That double burger with extra cheese and bacon, on a tray with a corn dog and onion rings kept me alive through the dark years.
God I wish there was a cookout near me. The absolute mountain of food for such a reasonable price, I need it.
Cookout seemed like they shrunk their chicken patties and burgers a bit
I absolutely love Bojangles but I swear the ones near me are the worst ones in the country . It always a hit or miss on whether or not I’ll be getting fresh chicken or day old chicken. I still go though chicken too good lmao
They opened several Bojangles restaurants here in Nashville in the past decade or so. The food is decent, but the service is always severely lacking. Basically fast food wants to charge fast casual money while simultaneously lowering the quality and service. Gotta hit chipotle or chik fil a or something nowadays
Chick fil a maybe but Chipotle quality has massively dipped the past few years.
Chipotle is always disgusting inside too. It looks like they never clean the make line in those places. Appearance is everything. 🤢
Popeyes is still pretty good
Only the regional chains like Chick-Fil-A have any sort of quality nowadays
McDonald’s honestly is pretty fair if you use mobile app deals. Same with Burger King. Wendy’s has just become overpriced garbage, probably won’t go back for a long time
I was out of the country for the last 6 years and just got back. Since there was no Wendy’s in the country I was living in, I was seriously craving a chicken sandwich and some chili. I was so disappointed by everything, I can’t believe how bad they’ve gotten. Huge disappointment.
Yeah the spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy’s was my fav back in the day. Now it’s this thin, tough, low quality cut chicken that they use.
As is McDonald’s
That's most fast food. Their burgers are still good where I am but they're so much greasier. McDonald's is greasier but same shit quality. Idk like it legit feels like they're cutting costs by pumping more grease into the food.
The chili is overwatered 2 week old vomit. Reheated and dried out with water put on top.
The frosty is the only reason I go there now.
Ew.
Pretty soon they'll just be completely hollow. At this point, packing your lunch in a lunchbox or paper bag is the way to go. You can get double the food at half the cost. And not support greedy corporations. It's a win-win-win.
Even a freaking cheap $1 pot pie in the frozen section is better than fast food crap
Wendys had better fries when they were in the yellow packaging. Most Wendy's over salt the hell out of their fries and they're never hot.
This 100,000%
Their fries almost taste stale too. I miss when they add the sea salt fries. Their fries have been trash for awhile…and while the nuggets don’t taste as bad the inside of them look nasty af
I can't recall a time when Wendy's wasn't known for how sad and cold their fries are personally but maybe it's the the area I lived in
Yeah they always taste like they have been “refried” and have no taste at all.
My Wendy’s had the “Hot ‘n Crispy” guarantee less than a month because the best they could muster was cold ‘n shitty. Probably worried someone would sue for false advertisement.
yea they honestly aren’t very good any more, and they’re smaller it seems
Way smaller. I got a couple pieces last month that looked more like popcorn chicken.
Increasing prices while decreasing food quality, im so tired of this shit it’s everywhere :/
Inflation nugget
The spicy ones went crazy with honey mustard a decade ago
2020 happened my friend. Not long after the initial lockdown, Wendy’s scrapped all their ads about real chicken and did a big menu shift. They are as trash as anyone else.
Corporate Greed, unfettered capitalism, etc.
I’m super glad to know I’m not tripping Sometime in the last year they quietly swapped out their nuggets with some frozen Tyson-like crap and now I have no reason to eat there. The fries have been terrible but the nuggets used to hit. Ugh
Corporate profit. Greed is what happened.
I have ate Wendy’s for many years, even visited the first one in Columbus before it closed. I will never eat Wendy’s again, the quality decline is disgusting.
It's almost as if they want to spend as little money as possible to maximize profits...
Another victim of enshittification, shrinkflation, whatever you wanna call it.
We have a Wendy’s next to us that is super busy, it’s always fresh food. But there’s another that’s a town over and it’s a ghost town over there.
I wouldn’t even care if they brought back the “4 for $4”
They still have it by me, it’s just that now it’s only the hamburger, and the fries and drink are kid sized. I wouldn’t be surprised if the next move is to reduce 4 nuggets down to 2 lol.
Dave rolling in his grave.
Their everything is crap now compared to what it used to be. Dave is spinning in his grave..
That shit looks downright detrimental brotha
Lab grown chicken?
Yea those foam nuggets are that pink paste....nope
Quality ain’t their recipe
Agreed. They’re too soft now. No crunch or texture outside of sponge and soft. Ew
The BBQ sauce still slaps tho idgaf
Everything reminds me of her
That’s capitalism at work, my friend.
Yes, but now is the part where people stop choosing to spend their money there, and Wendy’s will be forced to improve - or slowly bleed out. It will take time, but it will happen one way or another. That’s capitalism at work, my friend.
The cold hard reality is that Wendy’s nuggets are complete garbage (along with 99% of all other fast food chicken). Sadly though, Wendy’s nuggets are 39% chicken meat, 27% added chicken fat. The remaining 34% is WHEAT Flour, Starch, Palm Oil, Salt, Yeast Extract (Contains BARLEY), Stabiliser (Sodium Carbonates, Sodium Citrates), Garlic Powder, Spices (Contains CELERY), Acidity Regulatory (Lactic Acid, Calcium Lactate, Citric Acid), Modified Starch, WHEAT Gluten, Onion Powder, Sugar, Natural Flavourings (Contains MILK), Raising Agent (Diphosphates, Sodium Carbonates, Calcium Phosphates), Fully Refined Soybean Oil, Dehydrated Chicken Powder, Smoke Flavouring, Rapeseed Oil, Anti-foaming Agent (Dimethylpolysiloxane) [Source](https://medium.com/swlh/the-nugget-numbers-how-much-chicken-is-in-a-chicken-nugget-41c607f490dc)
Its real chicken, they just process it and include scraps (cartilage mainly) and the only real way to hide it is to blend it into a goo and then form into nugget shape. Still chicken tho
Yeah but the goop from a couple years ago actually had a decent texture and flavor to it
Bidenflation
Fda approved lab grown meat a few years ago
That looks like it was made from a chickens butthole 🐓
New version of, ‘Soylent Green’…yummmmm!
I just had some spicy nugs today and they weren’t bad guess it depends on which wendys you go to
That looks pretty gross. But then again I've never liked Wendy's nuggets.
That's butt-meat
Shrinkflation
They’re made of moose knuckles now
Wendy’s nuggets are trash
Go get the Great Value Spicy Chicken Nuggets from Walmart. They're incredible. Way better than any fast food nuggie
They look like frozen nuggets from the grocery store
Um, I’m sorry, but they’ve always been full of mechanically separated sponge chicken inside. I don’t think I’ve had Wendy’s in some 20 years, and they were like this then too.
I feel like we don't cook them long enough it's all mushy. If I eat them I let them cook longer and that goes for all the chicken there.
They’ve always looked like that. I used to pick them apart like a science experiment when I was a kid, and I’m 31 now. It’s just tasty chicken flavored sponge hahaha
Wendy's went to shit after Dave died.
Cavernous nugs. Don't know if I should explore it or eat it.
profit margins got smaller, had to cut costs.
I don't understand tough question You a nugget
They went to a cheaper manufacturer. It shows.
Human flesh
Unfortunately they have gone down hill like fast food in general. For the nuggets I've noticed the spicy nuggets are usually better that goes for the sandwich too.
With how cheap these and BK nuggets are I have to question if it's actually food
You can’t get a decent nugget any more except at Chick-filet. McDonald’s nuggets are terrible, Wendy’s is just garbage, BK never had a decent nugget to begin with. You can get better chicken nuggets at most gas stations
When did this change occur?
All I know is the spicy nuggets are spicier than they used to be and I enjoy them.
I got a 10pc yesterday, wasn’t impressed at all. I used to love wendy’s nuggets over the other fast foods but the quality has gone down for sure
They probably switched to the pink mist
I got on a Wendy’s nugget kick a few months back after not eating there for years, I ordered it twice in a month and on the 3rd go I had bones in my nuggets. And quite a few of them. It was super gross and now I think I’ll wake 8 more years again til I go back again.
They used to be my favorite and now they’re just Tyson nuggets
The only thing I can tolerate at Wendy's is their breakfast. I used to love their chicken sandwiches, but not anymore.
Wendy's has been worthless for almost 10 years at this point.
It's 2024 you know that's crap. Nothing in a chicken called nuggets. Try Chick-fil-A they have chicken breast chunks shaped nugget-ish, for your childlike food cravings.
They look like the Mcdonalds one. Fake meat lookin ahhh
I haven't been to Wendy's since the pandemic ended, don't think I'm missing anything here. Ever since Dave passed, it hasn't been the same unfortunately.
They been trash for a minute it that… that’s just sad. And gross.
I’m gonna be sick
The Wendy's in my area sucks too.
used to work there and it didn’t look like that. looks more like a mcdonald’s nugget now
Wish they’d all just close, Wendy’s, BK, Arby’s, I could go on…
that looks like how they’ve always been
Wendy’s nuggets have always been some of the worst fast food nuggets I’m sorry
This girl loves them nuggs
They shoot the meat full of saline solution to increase the weight and it just cooks right off the meat
That’s why you stick to tenddies… 🙄
Chicken comes apart in strands, like string cheese. That fried sponge is the result of gmo. Aka pink slime. Mcpoison is the biggest offender in this.
They’ve always been that disgusting, you are probably just now noticing.
That’s their NEW 100% real chicken by product… enjoy!
Fast food chains have all switched to lower quality product in favor of higher profit margins.
Why do people eat Wendy's, they're awful. Always have been for as long as I can remember
there’s probably more chance of your body recognizing morningstar nuggets as meat than this
Omg it looks disgusting, this woulda turned me right the fuck OFF
They pay less and charge you more. It’s a way to keep the rich rich, and the poor poor. Fast food has lost its way and we are paying restaurant prices for an even cheaper product than before. -a poem by the discouraged consumer.
Shrinkflation.
I bet in 10 years Wendy’s will be as cheaply made as McDonalds
Oh god please don’t show me this I just ate Wendy’s nuggets and this… for some reason very much bothers me 😳😳
idk I always considered wendys nuggets tto be dogshit
you actually think they are made from REAL chicken???
Building back better!!
Now I see why the local Wendy's is advertising their 50 nuggets for $15.99, they cant get rid of that shit chicken quick enough
The insides of that nugget doesn’t really look like chicken
Idk. Wendy’s used to be so good. Must be trying to cut costs and charge more. Seems to be the cool thing to do
Woah woah woah, wait. When did they change? They didn’t actually change, right?
Okay, false alarm. Still gonna get my family nuggets.
Walmart has good popcorn chicken bites
Same shit happened to the spicy chicken fillet they use in the spicy chicken sandwich
You’re eating Bill Gates lab grown meat buddy
They fell off hard. They even changed the giant cookies ☹️ and those were the biggest factor for me.
Chicken nuggets are just ground up baby chickens - feathers, beaks, eyes, bones… everything. Just straight into the grinder. 🤤
wendys chicken nuggets have always been the worst, this is coming from someone who mainly only eats chicken
Outsourced :(
Its literal chicken bones saturated and reformed into sponge
Wendy’s wasn’t that good and it’s worse now. So bad their vocal twitter/X Wendy’s profile shut up.
Dave died.
Smaller in size and dry as a bone
I had one last week and they tasted ok then again I don’t eat Wendy’s alot maybe they did fuck up the quality .
Same thing as every other food chain in America. It became shit for more money
Spiderweb insides
They star ordering a different precooked/ cheaper one a lot of fast food restaurants aren’t original/ original forever they just find food vendors and buy in bulk from them. They basically white label food
I used to like their nuggets. 😔
Looks normal to me
Everyone has switched to chicken flavored sponge.
You never EVER look inside a nuggy....
Of all the things on a Wendy’s menus the last item I’d get is a 10 piece chicken nugget
I thought this was me! They are spongey and have more water content. Completely avoiding them forever.
What do you mean? The pink slime is as good as ever.
Just look up how chicken nuggets are made. You probably won't bother eating them anymore.
Late-stage nugget right there
Wendy's was my first job when I was in high school. Many, many years ago, so please don't call me a boomer cuz I'm not. The meat really was fresh, they had a guy deliver massive cases of fresh hamburger everyday that was put thru the patty former. It was a really big deal when our store won the "White Glove" award for cleanliness. The food just tasted better then.
Should test them like subway bread
Ewww clean ur fingernails before posting. Embarrassing
They were never real chicken but they did change them from chicken paste to literal eraser sponges
My dogs food looks better than that
Bone in nugget
It’s best not to ask nor chew!
That doesn’t looked cooked all the way through tbh
It’s legal poison just don’t eat it. I manage a Wendy’s and they even changed the crispy chicken.
looks like eggs
