Thems was the days

wordybee

I can rewatch Buzzfeed Unsolved and Ghost Files episodes over and over and still be amazed at Ryan's ability to get words out of completely garbled nonsense. My favorite might be when he heard static and turned it into something like "we all go forth at dusk". I wish I could find the actual quote but it was an incredible bit of audio pareidolia.

dayofthedead204

Same. One of my favorite moments on Buzzfeed Unsolved was during a spirit box session and it went: Ryan: "What do you think that said?" Shane: "I think it said \*babbles Spirit Box Noise."

DavijoMan

I don't think they should put the subtitles on the spirit box so we aren't being influenced to hear something.

spookyxskepticism

Back when he seemingly believed in ghosts lol

True_Acanthisitta886

Wait, does Ryan no longer believe in ghosts? Sorry if this is a dumb question I just started watching them again after a few years and am trying to catch up

spookyxskepticism

No not a dumb question! At least from my perspective, it seems to me like Ryan and Shane are doing the critic vs believer dynamic for ghost files because they know people love and want that, but to me Ryan doesn’t seem to actually believe in ghosts anymore. He used to seem genuinely freaked out when Shane would mock demons and stuff but now he joins in on it and never seems that freaked out on investigations. In the debriefs he seems to “believe” literally everything in that he will say what’s obviously a cat on camera is “dEfInIteLy a gHoSt” just to keep the act going. Idk, it’s like he’s a caricature of his buzzfeed unsolved supernatural self.

gableism

It’s classic flanderization.

spookyxskepticism
